Mom has been there since Covid started and the small staff worked so very hard. They cared a great deal for the residents and still continue to show their love daily by being kind. ALL the staff are friendly respectful and do their best to make the residents feel at home. I am grateful to have a safe supportive place for Mom.

Both of my parents have rolled through the rehab doors at the Daughters of Sarah in the last year. With both having multiple ailments and needing rehab after a hospital stay at separate times, Daughters of Sarah has become my #1 in elder care. Each parent had a private room so they were able to rest and be comfortable. The nurses and other staff made them feel that they were going above and beyond to make a crappy situation better. I was and still am flabbergasted that I received calls from the team after discharge checking up on them.

Caring, caring, caring! If your loved one needs to have nursing care, this is the place to go. I looked at several homes in the area and DofS stands out. Residents have single rooms, lots of programming for stimulation, staff is sensitive to the individual's personality in dealing with residents, and the administration is very responsive. It was such a relief to know my mother-in-law and later my father-in-law were cared for so kindly.

My mom is residing there now, and has been there for over a year. The DoS facility is clean, up-to-date, and well-run. The staff is friendly and takes ver good care of my mom, keeping her engaged and as active as her physical condition permits, and keeps challenging her to extend her abilities. All the rooms are roomy and cheerful. While my mom keeps up with the world through her newspaper subscription, she also watches CNN, the ABC World news, and Jeopardy on her room's included cable TV every day

Best care around!! After being to several other nursing homes and rehabs in the area with both my parents at different times, I had a very bad attitude when my Dad was admitted to Daughters of Sarah. I assumed it would be like every other place. I quickly saw that this place was very different! The care is amazing. It's fully staffed, which is unheard of in most nursing homes and rehabs, and the aides and nurses are attentive and caring. The therapy staff has been committed to my my Dad's rehab with sometimes as many as 3 therapy sessions a day! My Dad even loves it there and we had a hard time convincing him that rehab would be a good thing. If you are ever faced with a situation where you need to put your loved one in a facility, I highly recommend Daughters of Sarah! There is truly no other place like it.

My mother is a long-term resident of Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center, having moved into skilled nursing there nearly four years ago. Without a doubt, Daughters of Sarah is an absolutely wonderful place for my mother during this stage of her life. All residents have single private rooms with bathrooms, which is significant. For my mother, it's meant that she's comfortable in her own space and in her day-to-day life there. But without a doubt, the best part of Daughters of Sarah is the staff itself. During my visits, I'm always struck by how each and every employee I see is dedicated to providing excellent nursing care in a welcoming, comfortable environment. For over four years, the nursing staff has managed my mother's medical issues exceptionally well, while the care aides, social workers, and recreational staff always give her the hands-on care she needs and treat her with respect and kindness. As a family member, I breathe easy knowing that my mother has and will continue to receive exceptional care at Daughters of Sarah.

My father is a resident here since 2021. Like everyone else I have been afraid of nursing homes for a loved one, first because of staffing and then because of infection fears. Daughters has exceeded my expectations and given us a certain amount of peace of mind. The office staff, especially Liz in billing and his social worker are lovely and caring. They have helped him many times and Liz interceded on my father's behalf with Medicaid to help with a billing issue. This is huge for his finances and I am extremely grateful. His social worker stops by often and has called me at times to bring any needs to my attention. Most of the time I already knew, but she is observant and working hard to take care of her residents and look out for them. My father reports that the nursing staff are generally all caring and as helpful as they can be, due to time and staffing constraints. Several have built a relationship with him and he depends on them and misses them on their days off. Everyone I have encountered has been hardworking and pleasant. The strain they have been under due to COVID and short staffing has been immense and I am so grateful for their service in taking care of those who need it. They all deserve a raise for sure! The buildings and grounds are very nice and surrounded by nature. All the residents have private rooms and toilet/sink half baths. If you are mobile enough to explore, there are plenty of quiet and well decorated areas to lounge in. The reality of living in a nursing home with many other residents, is that they don't have the staff to be on the spot instantly when a person has a need. Things have to be prioritized so sometimes there is a waiting period. But, its far easier to focus on the times something was late, than on all the other times it was early or on time. Overall, they do an amazing job keeping up with a rigorous medication schedule and particular preferences of my dad. The thing everyone fears: My father doesn't need help often to use the bathroom, so I can't shed any light on what happens when a person is bed bound. I can say, the hallways in the wards never smell of any bodily fluids and everyone appears clean and tidy and taken care of. No airs of misery or despair. I expect that if he has that need in the future the care he gets will be at the same level it is now. It's not perfect and they have room for improvement in certain areas. However, compared to another facility in the area where he had a stint in Rehab, Daughters is night and day, a massive improvement. In closing, don't be afraid if your loved one is destined to stay here, get to know how it works and the rhythm of the facility and advocate for your loved one when necessary. I have found 100% of the time they have his well-being in mind and all do their jobs to the best of their ability. I am glad my father has the opportunity to be cared for at Daughters.

My wife has been in the memory unit at Daughters of Sarah for about a year. In her time here I've been impressed with the overall management at Daughters. It's a pleasant physical environment for those who have to be under care and all of the staff on her unit - on all of the various shifts - know my wife and her idiosyncrasies. Staff respond quickly if I have a question or if anything needs to be adjusted. In essence, staff here does their job well. They create and maintain a sense of calmness and I feel comfortable with my wife's care under these circumstances.

We wish we could care for my mom at home, but her needs have become too much. Our experience with Daughters of Sarah has us relieved at how safe and well-cared for she is now. My mom has been in their Memory Care Unit for almost a year. Before that, she was in the short term care unit after a hospital stay. It was during her stay in their short term unit that we realized Daughters of Sarah was the right place for her. Everyone we've met at Daughters of Sarah has been kind to us and extremely responsive to my mom's needs. The physical environment is clean and well-maintained, and as homey as possible. They have lots of activities, and the food smells and looks AMAZING. My dad is able to visit with my mom daily. In fact, all the staff members know him by now and treat him like royalty. 🙂 We've had friends and family come for visits, and everyone has been impressed with how nice Daughters of Sarah is. Because my mom is in a safe, comfortable, caring environment, we no longer spend our days in a constant state of alert. TL;DR: A nursing home wasn't our first choice for my mom, but Daughters of Sarah has definitely turned out to be the right choice for us.
