I've been meaning to write this 5-star review for a long time! A few years ago, I moved my parents into Cascades of the Sierra. My dad moved into Memory Care, and my mom into Independent Living. The transition happened very quickly because my dad suddenly needed a higher level of care, and Amber was incredible throughout the entire process. She helped us navigate a very stressful situation with kindness, compassion, and professionalism, making sure my parents were settled and cared for from day one. During the short time my dad was in Memory Care before he passed away from Alzheimer's, the care he received was exceptional. Alzheimer's is a heartbreaking disease, but the staff treated my dad with dignity, patience, and genuine compassion. They also supported my mom and me through an incredibly difficult time. We spent many hours there during his final weeks, and the staff truly made us feel like family. My mom continues to thrive in Independent Living. She has a wonderful group of friends, enjoys the activities and outings (live music in the bar to shopping trips and restaurant excursions) and consistently tells me how kind the staff are. Knowing she is happy gives me tremendous peace of mind. If you are looking for a senior living option, I highly recommend you take a look at Cascades.

Today I had the opportunity to tour Cascades of the Sierra in Spanish Springs, and I was incredibly impressed. Amber gave me a phenomenal tour of the Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care communities, and I can't thank her enough for taking so much time to educate me and answer all of my questions. From the moment I arrived, every staff member I met was welcoming, friendly, and genuinely cared about the residents. I also had the chance to meet several residents during my visit, and every one of them had wonderful things to say about living there. Their happiness and sense of community really stood out. I even enjoyed a delicious lunch in the restaurant, and I was amazed by the quality of the amenities, the beautiful apartments, and the wide variety of activities available for residents. It's clear that Cascades of the Sierra is focused on providing an engaging, comfortable, and fulfilling lifestyle. I would highly recommend this community to anyone who is considering downsizing or exploring senior living options. Whether you're looking for Independent Living, Assisted Living, or Memory Care, this is definitely a community worth touring.

I was very impressed with Cascades of the Sierra. It’s a very clean and comfortable place. All the residents looked happy and were very welcoming. I got to meet Alan the fitness director. It’s nice to see the staff interact with the residence. We enjoyed a game of pool with 3 of the residence. Donna was very knowledgeable about the community. She hosted my mother and sister for a stay at Cascades of the Sierra. My mother really enjoyed her stay.

The caregivers were very friendly and professional while we walked around to the different areas of the assisted living portion of the building. I have found the staff to be kind and caring and they work hard to keep the residents safe and help in ways that are needed. They are warm and welcoming to family as well as residents. There are activities to help keep residents engaged and socializing. Some amenities like hairdressing and manicure/pedicure seem to have not been maintained. The only slight criticism I have heard is the food is often over or under cooked or isn't what actually was put on the daily menu. Overall my father and the other residents seem to be happy at Cascades.

Cascades of the Sierra is a very pleasant beautiful place but even more than that the people that I've met there, both caregivers, nurses, workers, have been such caring, helpful and loving towards everyone and mostly to the residents. One in particular Donna Bennett, was the first person that I talked to on the phone and met in person when looking for a place for my husband.She is a great asset to the company in every way. She's knowledgeable, friendly, pleasant to work with but more importantly she's very kind and understanding and compassionate, knowing what a person is going through when they're having to deal with this situation in their lives. I highly recommend this place and Donna with a five-star rating for both!

I have been looking at senior communities in the area to plan for future needs for my family. I called Cascades a couple of weeks ago and spoke with Jessie, who was exceptionally friendly and helped get me in touch with Amber. Amber walked me through the process and set me up for a tour of the property. Amber took her time showing me all of the amenities and explained all of the amazing things Cascades provides for their residents. I have to say, I was incredibly impressed by her knowledge of not just the property but the area as well. The property is beautiful! There are comfort features that my parents love, like fireplaces in the living areas and social events that they could attend regularly! All of the residents that I saw on my tour had smiles on their faces and seemed right at home, almost as if they were at a never-ending block party. If you are ever in the market for a senior living community, give Jessie or Amber a call. They will put your mind at ease.

I spoke with Amber Leighton, very professional, she took the time to listen to my Dad’s needs and wants, was able to explain all services in a way that made my Dad feel at ease. My 94 year old father left a home where he and my mother raised my brother and I for 60 years. This was a huge really hard decision for me. When choosing an assisted living facility, there are many places in the Reno/Sparks area to choose from. I narrowed the choices down to two different facilities. Cascades being one of them. After finally deciding on Cascades of the Sierra, both Amber and Jessi went above and beyond to make sure I had all the information available for the move in process. Jessi being there from the beginning of the facility being opened says a lot about her and Amber at the end of the process felt like family. They both did. After being there for over a month, I couldn’t be happier about the choice I made. Hands down Cascades is the best assisted living facility there is. Every employee I have met goes above and beyond and makes you feel at home. On top of that, the facility itself is always sparkling clean. I leave there and know my Dad is in very good hands.

Our family moved Mom into Independent Living in August 2020 because it was critical for her health and safety. The Cascades staff--from maintenance, food service, sales team to front desk--have been professional, courteous and helpful. Mom loves her apartment, the food, and the support she receives from the Cascades team. During a very challenging year, Jim Cox has been outstanding in communicating with residents and families and we appreciate his leadership in getting residents COVID vaccinations so quickly. My mom lived in the Cascade of the Sierra for seven years. She initially started in independent living and eventually moved to assisted. She enjoyed living here and was glad to have such a nice, safe place to live. I have found the staff caring, helpful and hard working. I appreciated their diligence in keeping my mom safe. Over the years there have been issues but they have always worked with me to get them resolved. As the care giver for my mom, I know the responsibility lies with me to keep up with here needs but having the cascade there on a 24/7 basis that I could call when I was not able to be there was a comfort and a help. There are many times the staff would check on her for me as she would forget to charge her phone. They would help when asked, even when it was not in their job description. Not always on my time table but it would get done. Mind assisted living does not mean immediate assistance unless it is life threating. Some folks seem to believe that assistance should be swift but that would require a 1 to 1 staff to client. That is not something I could afford. I am very thankful that the Cascade provides such a lovely, helpful, and safe place for our aging seniors.

It was a difficult decision for my Aunt to leave her home in SoCal and move to Northern Nevada. Cascades has been a blessing as the staff has been more than helpful. The pandemic is tough on everyone, especially the elderly. The staff are diligent in their effort to keep people safe. My aunt is looking forward to the days that she can freely get out meet other residence and enjoy comradery.

My loved one chose this place above another. The residence is beautiful and the staff are friendly and do their best to keep the residents safe and happy. The move in process during covid was secure and efficient. My loved one is well taken care of with meals delivered several times per day because the restaurants are closed due to the pandemic. The restrictions in place to keep the residents safe during the pandemic are to be expected and beneficial to the folks who live there. I'm hopeful for the reopening of everything there eventually.

I highly recommend Cascades of the Sierra. I am a granddaughter to two elderly grandparents aging 91 and 88. Originally my grandparents started in the Assisted living section of this facility due to my grandfather being released out of a Rehabilitation Facility and needed more hands on care. Although we encountered a few issues from some of the staff members at the beginning, I was able to communicate my concerns as a family member where they were immediately taken seriously and addressed with action. Every client is different and has unique needs, allowing time for an adjustment period for both staff and your family members makes a huge difference in the probability of success. You need to be patient as a loved one and communicate any concerns you might have so that the staff has the opportunity to work with you and improve in areas needed. My grandparents now live in the Independent Living section. Whenever I visit my family, they have something new to rave about when it comes to either the events available to them, the wonderful staff, or the gorgeous environment. I visit them frequently and have witnessed many staff members working directly with my grandparents, specifically appliances in their apartment, to help them operate these items and teach them uses. I am the only family member currently present within my grandparent's life and Cascades' staff has been incredibly supportive and helpful to our family and me specifically. Jim Cox, who is the Executive Director at Cascades, knows me and my family by name. He takes time out of his day to help me with the many difficulties that comes with aging family members and has been incredibly kind and considerate of me as a family member, even when I have brought a concern to his door. He listens to what you have to say and then takes care of it. If you are looking for a place where your loved one is cared for and treated with respect as a unique individual, Cascades is right for you. If you work WITH Cascades, you can give your loved one a great place to call home and be taken care of.
