My mom has been her for a year and has been doing great. She’s an enormous amount of work and other facilities were about to have her transferred to a nursing home, but I happened to meet Connie while touring a private group home that I was not sure about. She told me Oakey has group home care level and they accept Medicaid. My entire world changed for the better immediately after moving my mom in. The staff has been fantastic, the food was better than many places and she has a private room. It truly has been a blessing from God!! She’s never been happier and I’ve not had it this easy in years. Now about a month or so the care changed. My mom said she waited an hour for someone to answer her call light which has never happened before. She was also late on getting her meds. Neither time was it an emergency but what if it had been. I have a friend whose mom I referred there and she said her favorite CNA -Tiki got let go. I don’t know if it was to cut staff or why. She was literally the only person her mom would let shower her so now my friend is back on shower duty. **You know how stubborn old people can be. Anyway, I guess Connie is no longer the director at Oakey, so as usual when you find something really good, then someone changes things and messes it all up. I don’t know who took over but Connie gave out her cell to all of us so she could tackle a problem immediately and I know that you won’t find that personal care just anywhere. I’d still highly recommend Oakey over most places though. Hopefully the staffing shortages get corrected soon and I’d love to know who to contact when things are going wrong.

Her commitment to excellence and her heartfelt compassion make a positive difference in the lives of residents and their families every day. Thank you again for the loving care for mom in her final hours!

Thank you to the wonderful staff at Oakey Assisted Living. Our mom was very happy during her time there. Staff members were always attentive and friendly. Mom enjoyed the food a lot, as well as the new friends she met among residents. The facility is clean, and staff work hard to offer activities, celebrate birthdays and holidays, and respond to residents’ needs. Our mom recently passed away. We are very grateful to all the caregivers, med techs, housekeeping staff and administrators who treated mom and our family with tremendous compassion during a very difficult time. We would recommend Oakey to anyone looking for an assisted living facility for your loved one. It felt like we had the help of a large extended family all working together with us to take care of our mom.

Oakey Assisted living is a wonderful facility. It truly is home to great residents, they are a community of wonderful people and they have an excellent staff. The residence are well taken care of and Ms. Arlene made it such an easy, pleasant and informative experience, when getting my father housed. This is an excellent place to have loved ones call home.

My family recently lost my mother in law, who was the sole care giver for a dear family friend, which left my father in law in quite a predicament in how to provide the right care to Tommy as his dementia progressed. After many ups and downs we came across Oakey, and have been nothing but impressed with the dedicated staff, and how they care for Tommy and the other residents and how they go the extra mile to make the facility feel like home. Arlene was also extremely helpful to my father in law Paul, as he had to step into the role of care taker for Tommy and everything that entails. She was very patient, and kind and helped my father in law every step of the way.

My mother was a resident of Oakey Assisted Living for 10 months until she passed from one of her many illnesses. I want to share that my impression of the facility was very positive. Management was constantly visible. I had no complaints and anything mentioned was immediately handled. Staff was caring and attentive. Though my mother did not get involved due to her health, there were plenty of opportunities to engage in a variety of activities. It is clean and the rooms are large and bright. My mother had at 505 sq foot room with a separate bedroom. Also a balcony and Strip view! I originally chose Desert View on Buffalo. My mistake. They put us on a waiting list and getting a return on the deposit was like pulling teeth. I feel lucky though because I found a superior option in Oakey. More service for the same price and a better floor plan. Both my mother and I were always treated with respect at Oakey. If I am ever in need of assisted living myself it's the first place I would go. I’d highly recommend it.

I have lived here for two and a half years. My comfort level continues to increase. I feel totally safe and comfortable here. Oakey has become my "home". The food is good, the common areas are kept scrupulously clean and our apartments are cleaned weekly. I am totally retired and Iove my environment. The Activities Room is just like my family room. The outings are frequent and varied. I believe you can say I LOVE it here.

I know this sounds dramatic, but this is exactly what I experienced. Finding a clean, safe, and affordable place for my mom felt impossible. In my price range, many places were down-right scary. I felt at risk just walking from my car to the front door. Could not fathom leaving my mother there. After weeks of frustration I ended up in tears, literally begging for help from God. That moment my phone rang. I mean that very moment! I have no idea how they got my number, but it was Oakey. They promised me Oakey was different. I immediately made the 4 hour drive from OC and signed a contract that day. It was lovely. The staff was happy, it had a resort-like feel, very safe, smelled fresh, and looked wonderful. And it still does today. And now, my mom, my family and I are all happy. Yes, getting old is tough. Transitioning to assisted living is tough. You have to downsize. You have to get used to small rooms and seeing other old people. But I can’t think of a better place to ease into this than Oakey. They are wonderful and have demonstrated to us that they truly care. I wish you well in your journey.

My mother has been a resident at Oakey Assisted Living for over five years, and she recently transitioned into their memory care unit. I’m writing this review out of deep gratitude and admiration for the entire staff at Oakey Assisted Living and Memory Care. From day one, they have demonstrated a level of compassion, professionalism, and dedication that is truly exceptional. Every member of the staff treats the residents with kindness and dignity, creating an environment that feels more like a family than a facility. Their standards of care”whether it’s medical management, personal attention, or even the dining experience”are consistently outstanding. It brings our family great comfort to know that my mother is in such capable and caring hands during this chapter of her life. I wholeheartedly recommend Oakey to any family seeking a place where their loved ones will be treated with the utmost respect and compassion. Thank you, Oakey, for all that you do. With heartfelt appreciation, John Soldo

I absolutely love this place !! My father was at 5 diffrent places before we found this hidden gem. The owner Paulina is amazing! She is always willing to help and make things better. They even got a second poker table for the residence that have a hard time going upstairs in the elevator. This was part of the issue with my dad. Now he plays poker everyday downstairs and loves it. If you are looking for a place that truly cares about your loved ones look no further!!!

My grandmother is a resident here and has been for a little over a year, she's very happy here. She's made friends, they play bingo and sometimes even karaoke. Any time my grandmother has needed assistance she has received it. My grandmother never had anything bad to say about the staff. Any time I call in with her appointments the staff is always nice and does their best to help, and the owner Pauline is great as well. She has proven to me over the past year just how caring and compassionate she is and I do sincerely trust her with my grandmother. I do not trust easily, but she's shown me she sincerely cares about the residents and how she will do her best to make sure the residents are taken care of.

Dad was only at Oakey for only a few months before he passed away at 94. While he was here he did receive great care, especially from Abigale. The food was great, dad in the last few weeks only had soft food . There was always puddings and ice cream. Phil the owner, is doing a great job with updates on the facility. My only complaint is the lack of communication, especially with the administration Staff. The director , Connie may have too much on her plate , there is a lack of direction. The day staff are unsure of what the night staff do. Things are not being recorded by staff. I have brought this up previously . Hospice also noticed this lack of communication. When dad’s passport went missing, it took over 6 weeks for the director to come forth with dad’s documents. Perhaps a better protocol for things that are left in their care. Thank you. Dawn

The food used to be disgusting my dad complained about it constantly. The finally replaced the person in charge of the food and the food is better. No complaints from my dad. Since Dawn took over, there are no thefts of which I am aware, but Dawn resigned earlier this week. During the last year, my dad has given me his ATM card every month to take money out for him. I am not sure how he manages to spend $500 or more every month. As far as I know, he pays cash for a haircut. I think he may be paying an employee a lot of money for cigarettes. He spent a lot of time restricted to his room. I know of one outbreak of COVID that destroyed one ladies mind. My dad has become distant and depressed. Oakey has a very high turnover rate because they don't pay enough. There are a few very wonderful employees and caregivers, but some are working in the wrong career. It is a very tough job. I spend a few hours with my dad and he is very demanding. The worst part is the medicine. With so much turnover, my dad doesn't always get his medicine. I have witnessed this in person twice and I was on the phone listening to my dad argue and say things like he should be getting six pills instead of three. He asks them to double check and the caregiver comes back with the other pills. They blame the old people for not being aware, but some of the caregivers are less aware than the residents. I am concerned that some of these pills are being kept by the caregivers for malicious purposes like personal use or selling. It has happened too many times. It has happened so many times that he doesn't count anymore. When I first researched this place, it was the best I could find at dad's price range. As much as he pays, it needs to be better. Thank you to those who do a great job there. You are appreciated and much needed. The caregivers are overworked because there are not enough of them. They deserve more money because they earn it. This facility is poorly managed. The turnover of employees is very high. The Wellness Director was doing a great job helping people, but she was promised a raise by management so when she didn't get it she asked about it. When she asked about it, they fired her a few days after Christmas. The Wellness Director is the only member of management who would return my calls. I miss her assistance. They tried to overcharge my dad by more than $500 while he was in the hospital. This is a business and I understand the need to make money, but overcharging a senior who was in the hospital is unethical. This is typical of many businesses in Las Vegas. It is interesting how these inadvertent "mistakes" are always in favor of the business. It is shameful. Management will lie to you about anything and will promise you everything. It requires being persistent and getting angry to get anything done. I think I know where these missing pills are going. I am really tired of being lied to by the people at Oakey. I need to get my dad moved out and retain a lawyer. This place isn't right. They have no integrity and use dishonest practices. Theft is also an issue. My dad has always been good about keeping track of his money. How he is missing $700 after 3 days isn't clear. I took him to the ATM on a Saturday. He called me on Tuesday to tell me the money was missing. He did not leave the facility during that time. I sometimes join my dad for a meal and the other residents complain about the thefts. It only takes one dishonest staff member to create havoc. The residents don't complain because the management won't believe them or they fear repercussion(s). For some reason I have not been able to lower the number of stars to a one star rating. It is a one star.

My Mother was a vivacious lady of 99 and had lived on her own until an unexpected health issue. Her desire to live anywhere but her home was "out of the question". We explored other options when her doctor told us she would not withstand the trip to move her back to live with us. As all her family lived back east, our fear was if she would be properly watched over and cared for both medically and emotionally. Oakey receives 6 stars for both! The medical team kept me informed of her health changes, medications and anything she needed to be comfortable. The entire staff kept an "eye" on her and made sure she was out of her apartment and participating in any of the activities that she chose. She had been at Oakey a couple months before we asked her about selling her home. Her reply was "Yes - sell it - my girls love me and I love them, I couldn't ask for anything nicer than living here" To the entire staff - thank you - for each and every kind word, act or deed you did for my Mom. She thought highly of everyone because their smile, sweet hellos and willingness to make her feel a part of the family! I feel Oakey was a God send for our family. Even living back east were confident that Mom was getting the best of loving care. We truly feel she lived a longer, happier, healthier and safer life at Oakey and her days were filled with activities and entertainment which filled her last days with joy, laughter, peace and love.

This place rocks! The staff is genuine and caring. The company works with you as much as they can. I am so impressed with this senior living facility. The environment is clean and positive. Thank you so much destination Oakey for taking such great care of my father in law, Monte. You guys exceed any and all expectations! I toured this facility before my grandma decided to move in. The first thing I noticed was the lush gardens. The smell of the building in not antiseptic- it smells like someone's home. The furnishings are well maintained and there are little conversation areas with games set out invitingly. The apartments are nice and we could paint if we like as long as we repaint when she leaves. She can do her laundry or have it done at no extra charge. Meals are included and looked really good. There's a billiards room, theatre and salon. I'm very happy that she's living there.
