The facility has great views. Staff has been wonderful. The price increases have been much greater than what I was quoted while the food has deteriorated since being here. I'm rethinking about my future plans. I feel duped.

Our 86 year old mother moved into The Chateau at Gardnerville in August 2024. We looked at every facility in the area. We were most impressed by the atmosphere and friendly, warm feeling we got the several times we visited The Chateau. She has been there several weeks now and is doing great! She has always been very introverted and has had difficulty making friends. At the Chateau, everyone knows her name! She now enjoys going to meals (especially the ice cream)! Her whole attitude is much brighter and not only is she safe there, she is happy! Thank you to Katie, Jess, Kendra, Robin, Rusty and the whole staff for being so kind and compassionate.

Be prepared for your monthly costs to increase rapidly, while quality of food, care and cleanliness drop. My mother’s care costs have increased 30% in 14 months! Ownership changes often. With each new owner comes an increase in rent and services, while they gut food, care and cleaning.

My Dad was here for a short 14 months but I can’t say enough about the staff, Jess, Melody and Leanne to name a few. Always polite, professional and caring. The facility is clean and inviting. The view of the snow covered mountains is pretty cool too.

The entire staff at The Chateau have been exceptional!! Jess is amazing….. helping with every single detail and making Lu feel welcome from our first meeting. From the front desk , floor staff, to the TV guy….. every single interaction was positive and welcoming!!

1997 I applied for the receptionist position here at The Chateau of Gardnerville. I knew within 5 mins I wanted to work verses any other Communities in the Valley. The staff were smiling ,helpful and very caring as if their own loved ones lived here. Mgmt was very easy going and informative during my interview process which was very thorough for requirements by the State. I am thrilled that I get to work with the staff we have. The Sales Director is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and has started her career here as a caregiver here as well. She networks throughout the valley and knowledgeable about insurances and Memory Care making her goal to make sure the placement of your love one is at the very best place for them and not just trying to place them here at The Chateau. Their memory care staff did not inform me that my mother had stopped eating and drinking until 3 days had passed. She had also had 3 more falls I was not informed about. My mother was on hospice care and I should have been allowed to visit. By the time I was allowed to see my mother, she was incoherent and writhing in pain. My father required further assistance that he frequently did not receive. When he started hospice care, the director tried to deny my visits, and spoke to him about moving to memory care behind my back. It took an intervention from hospice for me to be allowed to visit. The rest of the staff seems caring and pleasant, but I wouldn't trust the director to care for my plants.

My husband and I have lived at The Chateau Gardnerville for three weeks. I could not imagine a nicer place to live! Not only are the rooms cozy and updated, but the architect took full advantage of the wonderful views of the Sierras. Beautiful views from many rooms. However, I must say that what I am most impressed with is the warm and caring staff. The are so friendly and kind and HAPPY! Its wonderful to receive greetings (by name) and food service with cheerful smiles. I have never met a nicer, kinder group of people. It is such a pleasure to live here!

My father has been a resident at the Chateau at Gardnerville for more than a year. The facility is clean, modern, and well maintained. Food service is great - nice variety on the menu and the food is high quality! The staff is friendly and truly care for the residents. The medical and caregiver staff are exceptional. We recently had to increase Dads level of care, and the process was seamless. As he improved, we had a successful transition to a lower level of care. Looking for fun activities? The activity staff puts on a great program for the residents and families. The management team is without peer, and it shows throughout the community. Five stars doesnt come easy, except for the Chateau at Gardnerville. They make it look very easy!

I worked at Brookdale for about six months, and even though my time there was brief, it was wonderful. The staff is very capable and cares a lot about the residents, and I learned so much working there. This job is absolutely why I got a great job when I decided to move out of state. You learn how to deal with all kinds of situations, and get a lot of experience, and it's clear that everyone who works there is there because they care.

Our "Home away from Home", my father proudly called "Brookdale Gardnerville" his home for 3 years. There are truly no words for the staff, they are kind, attentive, caring, loving to both family and the residents that call Brookdale Gardnerville their home. The staff team here has been great and I have no complaints. During the process of them reassessing my love one they have been very communicative and supportive. They do provide activities for residents to participate in to stimulate and engage themselves. My love on has home care people coming doing her physically therapy from a different company. As far as Brookdale goes, hey certainly offer all of that. They really are a great facility and Im very impressed. Even if little issues come up they call us right away and they let us know whats going on. I absolutely recommend this location.

I decided to tour this facility because they have a memory care unit which is what my Wife needs. Upon arriving, I notice that the unit is much smaller than other facilities and they dont really have room for my wife to walk around. They do offer a lot of activities and all of the staff members are very nice. If I brought my wife here, I would be able to walk her around the facility as long as she was with me. While Im not there she would, unfortunately, have to be locked in the memory care unit. The facility itself looks very good and it would have been a good choice, but it just wasnt big enough. I would recommend other families to look at this facility.
