Hummingbird Assisted Living was the absolute best facility to place my mother-in-law after she took a fall and could no longer care for herself. The staff took such good care of her, we were so pleased. Pearla and Carlos were the two we had most contact with when we visited, and they were so kind. The rest of the staff was exceptional, as well. Thank you all for taking such good care of Shirley, she was in very good hands.

The perfect place for my husband in his last week of life. He was transferred from comfort care at a hospital to Hummingbird. They were very attentive and helped do everything to make him comfortable. With a staff ratio of 1;5, they were extremely responsive to his needs and worked closely with hospice. Hummingbird is a very pleasant, home-like facility , and I can't say enough good things about them.

Our father has been with Hummingbird for about two months and we could not be happier with this decision. From the initial telephone conference, to our in person interview and meeting with owner, Christopher, and house manager, Perla, we knew this was what would be best for our father. Everyone at Hummingbird has taken a truly vested, loving and genuinely caring attitude in our father's well being. From the home cooked meals to the daily time spent engaging the residents with various activities, our father is thriving as well as an Alzheimer's patient can. Along with Perla, caregivers Carlos, Patricia and Yvana are wonderful and go above and beyond. Finding Hummingbird has been a blessing for our father and family. The Yanez Family

We placed my husband John, who is on Hospice, at Hummingbird a few months ago. We couldn't be happier with the care that he has received since he arrived there. The Owner, Christopher, and the entire well trained staff, especially Perla, and Carlos, treat all of the residents like family. It is a homey, clean, quiet, warm, and comfortable environment. The well balanced meals are cooked from scratch, and they make sure my husband receives gluten free meals, as he has Celiac Disease. It was a heart wrenching decision to have to place John in a facility after caring for him ourselves for 13 years. Christopher, and his wonderful and caring team, have made the transition for John, and our family, an easier one. We can't thank them enough.

I cannot say enough regarding the care given. I have always been notified of any changes regarding my uncle's health. My Uncle passed on March 3rd. Hummingbird was our moms third facility in one year. She came to hummingbird after a 10 day stay in the hospital with a broken hip. Our mom was very fragile and in a lot of pain and Oledie, the head care giver and her staff were amazing working with her and keeping her comfortable. They treated our mom with dignity. They cared about her. All meals were cooked fresh and served at the table like family. During our visits we saw that the residence were happy and thriving. You don't see that in a large facility. The house was always clean and smelling fresh. We loved how the staff celebrated the holidays, they made it fun and took pictures and shared. The communication was great! Oledie kept us updated on our mom via text and always responded when we reached out to her. Our mom had dementia and after being in two large facilities where the staff doesn't care about them, we can honestly say that a smaller home feel is so much more engaging for the resident. Our mom passed and we are thankful she was surrounded by a staff who truly cared about her. Chris, the owner was very pleasant to work with. His communication is great! He truly cares about his residents.

My Uncle was at Hummingbird Assisted Living from April 2022 until his passing March 2023. The Staff was totally amazing. The meals were always wonderful according to my Uncle. The care was absolutely wonderful. The patio was great, and he loved to sit outside and enjoy the fresh air. I would recommend Hummingbird to anyone that is looking for a small, assisted living facility. The residents received a lot more individual care then that received in a larger facility. I never worried about anything when he was at Hummingbird Assisted Living. Thank you to Christopher Abeyta (owner) and the super, wonderful, caring staff. Before placing your loved one anywhere else, please visit Hummingbird before you decide on another facility.

First of all I wish to disclose that I am a Medicare Agent and have an agency with 26 agents. I have personally seen and experienced the horror stories that exist for our senior community. Hummingbird is not such a facility! It is am amazing place that cares for its residents with dignity and kindness. I personally recommend Christopher and his team to my clients and to my team of agents. Hummingbird is actually more affordable than many other facilities. I actually placed my own Mother here and it was the absolute best decision we could have made for her care. Oledi one of the head nurses is among the kindest nurses I have ever met and her team of for overnight and during the day were so attentive to her needs. Including her favorite coffee creamer. We were able to install an "Alexa" device in her room to play her favorite music.

We recently had a need for hospice care for my mother in law as she declined from cancer after a 6 year battle. When we found out a room was available at HUMMINGBIRD, we felt it was the right place for her for a few reasons 1) we live on the same residential street as the facility and I had met some of the staff while out and about curbside over the past few years. 2)The dedication, grace and exceptional personal care they afforded Marilyn was a blessing and the kindness granted to us no matter what we needed, was always given with a smile and grew into genuine hugs as the inevitable outcome approached. 3)The owner Christopher actually came out to her home a few days before she was transferred, just to meet her face to face and help her feel comfortable and not just be another head in a bed. Oledi is one of the head nurses/attendants there and she IS an ANGEL. Kind and attentive and a vocal advocate for her clients. They all worked hand in hand with the AmberCare hospice team so that we had no worries about medications, dietary requirements and special requests. Also, the home itself is inviting and pleasantly decorated and furnished with a comfortable homey feel. If you find that you have to face this journey with a family member, I strongly recommend Christopher and his dedicated staff to help you through each step.

Greetings Christopher, Oledi, and staff. My father was a resident at Hummingbird for 5 months prior to his passing. This facility, or rather home away from home, was my father's final residence. He was very well treated and taken care of. I can't begin to describe the joy in our hearts when we'd visit (at random times) and see Oledi (The lovely and kind-hearted house manager) singing and "dancing" with dad even though he was wheel-chair bound. The smile on his face was priceless. He was always bathed and clean. We were never disappointed. We always felt welcomed and comfortable in this environment. We were blessed to have found this private home in northern Rio Rancho. The care and compassion superseded our expectations. It's never easy to make the decision to place a loved one on an assisted facility. We were blessed to have dad here. His end of life experience for our family, although very sad and not easy to accept, was more tolerable because of the staff. After his passing, Oledi and her staff were very compassionate and professional. This home is well managed, clean, and comfortable. Chris and his team took very good care of my dad after an extended stay in the hospital. Our father was very comfortable and there was always someone available to give him the level of care needed. With hummingbirds expert care we were able to get my dads home cleaned up and ready for his return. Although far, this assisted living home was very clean, tidy and staffed with well trained caretakers.
