My Mom was in the Woodmark memory care unit or the SPA as they call it, for several years. Overall they took excellent care of my Mom. There was only one time in all these years where she was in her room when I came to visit. Otherwise she was always out and about with the other residents. This is true for all residents. The staff does an excellent job at keeping them up and doing activities. Maria was an amazing staff who was promoted and now works somewhere else at Woodmark. Thank you Maria. Thank you to all the great staff there that have taken care of my Mom over the years. The place is always kept very clean. My Mom's room was always clean and her room straightened. No funky smells almost always. No place is perfect though. There is a lot of turnover in leadership. There have been about four memory care directors in the past few years. This business is very tough though. It's emotional for the families and staff. We're all human not machines. Many items like clothes go missing or make it around to other residents. It's hard to keep track and name tags wear off. So lessons learned you must remove all valuables from your loved ones before they enter or they will just disappear. Not that there is a huge theft problem, but it's the nature of how memory care works. It's an interesting phenomenon. Prices have risen dramatically over the past couple of years. I'd say about 30%. There was a big leadership change across the board recently and prices went up by 15-20%. But this industry is very expensive. They provide services that families can't or don't want to do. That's just the way it is. Ok I have one major complaint. The Woodmark doctor assigned to memory care was never ever available. He was NEVER reachable and would NEVER call you back. He would prescribe medications without notifying the family. Not sure if he even still is the doctor there. Obviously this guy was just making a fast buck while spending little time engaging with families. Thanks Dr. C. If you are reading this review, then I'm sorry that you are probably dealing with someone with dementia. It will be a rough road. But try to make the best out of it. Do your best to look out for your loved one, that's all you can do. But overall you can trust the Woodmark to provide a high level of care. Good luck.

My mom has lived at the Woodmark for approximately 4yrs. My sisters and I have been mostly happy with the care she receives. We have cameras in her room so that my sisters and I can keep an eye on her. We have seen some wonderful interactions with her caregivers to name a few exceptional caregivers, Rocio, Char, Jessica, & Robert! Also a few standouts in the dining hall are Julian & Jaden! These individuals you can tell love their job and have an affinity for helping others! Char even learned my sister’s and my name that says A LOT!! Aside from the cost, which is extremely high, and continues to go up each year, I would recommend this facility!!

My mother was just there for a very short time on hospice. Woodmark was just an amazing facility- everyone there went above and beyond my expectations. I am a nurse- and have to say they exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend woodmark and want to thank them for the excellent care and love they showed my mother!

We are the family of Lucy Trujillo it made you feel at ease to see her so happy . She mentioned she has never had so much fun. Charmaine and Noemi are so wonderful they had smiles and jokes had us all laughing our visit was great! Charmaine and all the activity staff are just wonderful. They encourage all the residents (and visitors!) to participate and always have a smile on their faces. The Gala they put on this year was amazing. Such wonderful costumes! I hope to see more of this type of thing in the future!

The activities group is great. The Gala they put on and the Ho down were so much fun. All the Staff are so attentive to detail and seem to really enjoy what they do. There should be more gatherings like these. My mom really enjoyed them.

We did not have a positive experience with Woodmark. We were under the impression that we had signed up at a place that was prepared to see Dad through from the independent stage to the hospice stage. When Dad went to the hospital and it was time to transition to a final hospice / assisted living setting, Woodmark was not able to help and we had to pay for two places at the same time: Woodmark as they stored my Dad's things in an apartment, and a real assisted living facility that was capable of handling the health situation. I would have preferred Woodmark telling us their limitations up front, as opposed to after Dad moved in.

I have to say I've had my mom in a few different places in Albuquerque And this is the absolute best so far hopefully the last that I will have to have my mom at. They are kind, tentative, have activities even for the extreme residents with dementia, show lots of love, and truly care about their residents

Woodmark at Uptown Memory Care was the perfect place for our 91 year old mother. The caregivers were truly angels here on Earth. They were attentive not only to her but to us, always making sure we had what we needed, especially in her final hours. We cannot thank you all enough. God bless you .

The Woodmark at Uptown is incredible! Before my Aunt came to The Woodmark, I was beside myself with frustration, worry and fear because of a past experience in a previous, local assisted living facility she was in for just 3 short weeks, which seemed like a life time! My concerns were immediately laid to rest within minutes of my first visit to Woodmark. My 87 year young Aunt has now been a resident for a little over 2 years. The kindness, compassion and high standard of care she receives daily by every team member is commendable and reassuring! I have yet to have one of my questions or concerns go unanswered. There is a total commitment of care by all in every area. The daily activities are endless and diverse. My family members and I always feel welcome and are greeted with a smile. I couldn’t be happier to have found this home away from home for my Aunt. I always leave knowing she’s in the best of care! And best of all, my Aunt says she’s happy and couldn't ask for any better care!

I am leaving a review of this facility’s dining room. The food is very good. Lots of thought put into the menu so there’s quite a variety! The staff is wonderful. Very caring and accommodating. They all really put a lot of work into holidays to make it special for the residents. Really quite a great kitchen and dining staff! They always try to make the dining room look very nice as well! It’s like eating at a five star restaurant!!!!

The Woodmark at Uptown is a fabulous assisted living and memory care home! Every single employee we worked with could not have been more helpful. The staff loves their jobs and the residents! We had some hard situations that the staff worked with us to resolve. My daughter and I are so grateful for the Woodmark at Uptown.

The kitchen staff is amazing here! They have accommodated me with my restricted diet and the food and service is wonderful! The servers are very patient as the explain the choices to the residents! I rate the kitchen staff very highly. The choices of food are great!!!!

This lady care taker always brings me breakfast with a cheerful good morning. She really moves fast to ensure all food items are warm and the coffee is hot. She starts my day with a good feeling.

My mom has been a resident at the Woodmark for over five years. She has been safe, healthy and not lost her sense of humor in all that time. We have the wonderful, amazing staff to thank for her great lifestyle at 94. Many of the staff have been there longer than she has and treat her as family. All departments from housekeeping, food service and the care givers in the wellness center are there everyday for the residents and their individual needs. The Woodmark is a moderate sized facility which has been perfect. The residents are a pretty diverse bunch making it an interesting place to participate in the organized activities which are quite varied. Overall, living at the Woodmark has made life my mom's life quite enjoyable and given me and my brother great peace of mind.

My parents moved into the Woodmark this past November!! They adjusted quickly and love the staff, the food and all the activities!! The ladies at the reception desk are always pleasant and welcoming. The care staff, med techs and nurses are kind and caring. The food has been wonderful with a great variety. Special occasions are absolutely amazing!! The activity staff is fabulous; from weekly ice cream socials, happy hour, both with live music, exercise classes to art activities and games, they strive to meet everyones interests and make each activity fun and interesting!! Maintenance responds quickly and works diligently to fix any problems. The housekeepers are pleasant and efficient. Mom and Dad tell me frequently, The staff is so caring, they really care about us! My father lived at woodmark for 5 years. The spa...memory care unit has problems. The staff turn over is very high. Pay is low which probably has something to do with it. Some staff is very good but over worked. Our family counsel...meetings with management...we always brought up staff turnover nothing was done to fix it. Another huge issue was dehydration of my dad. Very rarely when i was there did staff give residents water. . i would do it but when i was gone i doubt he was given water. And yes i work in healthcare and know how to check for dehydration. Just a note...kendell was awesome and so was the front desk staff. Everyone...look for group homes for your loved one...much more good care

After investigating many places for my mom to stay we settled on the Woodmark and I was very pleased with our selection. The staff are very caring people and they did their best to make my mom feel welcome and at home. The facility is in a great location with lots of things to do within a short walking distance. Would highly recommend the Woodmark as a great location for loved ones.
