My father has been a resident at North Ridge since March 2022. His room is lovely and quiet. He receives medical care at the facility. The staff has provides excellent daily care, including getting him dressed and active every day.

North Ridge was my fathers (Eloy) home for almost 3 years. We were truly blessed to find this wonderful place. The staff is amazing and was very kind to my father. The nurses are extremely knowledgeable and have the biggest heart. Everyone took very good care of my father. He felt very comfortable at North Ridge. I can’t thank Emma, Patience, and Jen enough for the wonderful care they provided, especially during his final days. If you have to make the hard decision to place a loved one I would highly recommend North Ridge

Our mother's dementia had gotten to a point where we could no longer have care come into her home. We did an extensive search and interviewed numerous long term care facilities in ABQ. We were lucky to find Northridge Memory Care. The staff is remarkable! The care they exhibit is second to none. Plus the staff at Northridge have been there for quite a while. They are a strong team but more than that, we consider them family. It was a tough decision to move mom there, but in the end, it was the right choice.

When I walked into Morning Star/North Ridge I knew this was the perfect place for my husband. North Ridge is one story. The staff are Alzheimer’s trained. This is major. The staff at North Ridge are the most caring and compassionate people. Each resident is special. And treated with so much kindness. Activities are so much fun for the residents. Each holiday celebrated with arts and crafts. Nine days after my husband arrived at North Ridge the facility went into lock down due to Covid-19. The staff really stepped up and spent more one and one time with the residents. Chuck lived here for one year before his journey with Alzheimer’s ended. As Chuck became worse the care and attention grew. Chuck was blessed to have North Ridge as his last place on this earth. I will never forget the kindness and caring they gave to Chuck

My sister has Huntingtons disease and was living in a minimal-care assisted living center. She was falling quite a bit, and became uncommunicative and aggressive. I assumed it was the progressive decline of the disease. She moved into North Ridge and we gave her a week to settle into her new routine. My first visit with her was remarkable. She was responsive and engaged when I spoke to her. She spoke more words than I remember her speaking in a few years. She told me that she cant do the arts and crafts projects but she likes watching. I feel like I have my sister back again! Thank you North Ridge!

My Mom was a resident at North Ridge for 1 year and 9 months. She was diagnosed with Alzheimers, vascular dementia, diabetes and other medical issues. The staff at North Ridge was invaluable. At the time we moved her there I was under a tremendous amount of stress, trying to cope with managing her care. She had come from another assisted living facility that she walked out of three times. What I found at North Ridge gave me the peace of mind I so desperately needed. I was told to let them care for my Mom, to just focus on being her daughter and enjoying my time with her. I was able to do just that. The staff at North Ridge is patient, loving, kind and professional. They show compassion to the families of their residents and welcome any questions about their care. My Mom enjoyed the delicious meals and snacks that were prepared. She was always first in line and ready to go on the weekly outings in the van. To her that was traveling, which she loved to do. At first she was somewhat reluctant to participate in the activities (there are many scheduled each day), but soon was involved in and enjoyed them. I was always welcome to join them and it gave me great joy to see how engaging the staff was with the residents. Staff at North Ridge believes each resident is special - birthdays are celebrated, Mothers-Fathers Day and holidays.are celebrated. Until CoVid, residents and families were able to join together to celebrate holidays with delicious meals. It was always a very festive event. One of the reasons I chose North Ridge for my Moms care was because of their staff to resident ratio. When you are there you will see that it is a very active place and you will immediately notice the interaction between the caring staff and residents. They also have a nurse on staff 24 hrs a day. That was important to me as my Moms medical care needed to be managed carefully. I was notified immediately of any incident involving my Mom or issues-concerns with her medical condition. I would also add that there is a primary care doctor that visited her there and managed her care. Through North Ridge I was also able to make arrangements for a podiatrist to see her. When you put it all together it really relieved so much of the stress of managing her care. My Mom passed away one month ago. I am, and will be, eternally grateful for the care she received at North Ridge. Becky

My father suffered from Diabetes, heart issues and dementia. Northridge was recommended to me and the staff there were excellent to work with. We were able to accelerate Dads move in and almost immediately we saw improvements in his day to day life. I live 500 miles away in Phoenix, and the staff did an amazing job of keeping me updated as my Dads health diminished. Anytime I visited my Dad, I always was so welcomed by the sympathetic staff and they helped me to understand the process until the end. Watching the staff work you really can see that while very professional, they really are passionate about the care they give and my Dad was very happy there. So with such a great review, why only 3 stars? After my dad passed away, I was obviously overwhelmed with all of the things you must do in that situation, I had to deal with my Mom who also has health issues and just lost her husband of 57 years. Had to relocate her to be close to us in AZ, had to sell their house, keep up with a very demanding job and a family of my own. I told the folks at Northridge to donate my fathers belongings at the rest home (TV, Dresser etc) to someone who could use them. Which they acknowledged they did. I called them today to find out what I had not received a final statement and I had anticipated (based on what they told me the last time I was there) a small credit (about 3K) since my Dad passed in the middle of the month. I was told there was not refund because there were still some old clothes in his closet, so the billed me for the whole month! Pretty SAD in my opinion, that after all of the goodness I experience while my Dad was living, to fall victim to a cold and heartless policy. Very below par! Spent a TON of money at this place to care for my Dad and feel that my Mom was robbed a bit over some old clothes and a toothbrush! Despite how things ended here for me, I still would 100% recommend this facility if you have loved ones suffering from memory health issues. Just make sure to vacate as quickly as possible when the time comes so you dont get penalized!

After coping at home with my wifes advancing dementia-Alzheimer disease, we were forced to seek expert care. I researched many care facilities and found them wanting for dementia care. I was impressed with Northridge for the personalized care they demonstrated, the acoustics with low, 8 foot ceilings, quietness (unlike some seemingly mausoleums I visited). Ginger was admitted to Northridge in June 2019, and passed away in January 2020. All during this challenging 7 months, I was impressed with the compassionate and caring nurses, caregivers, staff, and administrator Lisa Quintana, who set these high standards of care. Ginger was failing during the weeks before her final demise. I cant thank enough for the compassion Ginger experienced during this trying time from the nurses, caregivers, and Hospice de la Luz nurses. Also… Special thanks to all for keeping me emotionally glued together! Finally, serving only dementia-Alzheimers residents is what Northridge does, and from my view, does it best.

If I could give more stars I would. North Ridge is a place where my father in law is truly understood, respected and treated with loving concern. A staff specially trained in dementia care is a huge blessing.

Our family was very pleased with North Ridge. Its a very hardworking team of compassionate, caring professionals who work daily in a very challenging (and bizarre) environment -trying to make things a little easier for the patients as they lose their mental and physical functions, and for the families who feel the pain of watching a beloved family member wither away and lose touch with reality. In our case, they took very good care of our father during his final months - doing all they could to ease his pain and help him feel safe and comfortable. (Many of their residents really freak out at times. Its not an easy situation for anyone.) They also took incredible care of us during our long final hours at the facility (as our father was making his transition) - arranging meals, snacks, and a bed in the final weeks. We wanted for nothing. And, when he passed, they made all the calls to wrap things up and gave us warm hugs to say farewell. Memory loss for a family member presents some massive challenges for families. North Ridge took on the lions share of those burdens for us so that we could still tend to our own lives. Also, although our father did not much partake in the social activities, the lovely facility and staff do create spaces for social interactions, exercise, and entertainment. There are two nice TV entertainment rooms and lots of plush, comfortable lounge chairs all around for those who prefer to be where all the action is. One bonus aspect of North Ridges location is that you are near healthy, delicious restaurants like Flying Star and Thai Spice - making it easy to run out and grab a nice meal to go that you can eat during your many visits to the facility.

The team at North Ridge took exceptionally good care of our father for over two years. This is a very nice and safe facility, and the staff and caregivers are well trained and caring, loving and dedicated. This was a very good place for Dad, and we felt very comfortable that he had the best of care.
