My first experience with Five Star was when I began taking care of an elderly cousin many years ago. When it was time, the support staff was extremely helpful as she needed to move from Independent Living to Assisted Living. The staff was knowledgeable, kind and helpful. When I moved my mother into Independent Living a few years later, again, the staff helped her and was most kind. The Physical Therapy Dept. was great, evening entertainment and mealtime socializing kept them busy. Both my mother and cousin enjoyed their time at Five Star. When they passed on and we needed to move out, Martha was the best and made a difficult time much easier.

Five Star Premier Residences of Teaneck is a wonderful place to call home. The staff is warm and welcoming and everyday they do their best to make life good for everyone who lives there and their families who visit. Activities are plentiful and always interesting and fun. You owe it to yourself to take a tour with Shelley.

The apartments are nice, the staff is good and accommodating, HOWEVER the food is atrocious, some nights hardly edible. I couldn't eat the pastrami sandwich they gave the other night, so they were very accommodating and gave me a chicken leg. The skin was like paper. I don't know where they made this!! The soups are sometimes not bad. But I think they make them with boullion cubes and put in frozen vegetables, unsalted or sometimes oversalted. And the desserts are pretty good. I have to eat, but it is awful. All in all, when I go out to a restaurant, I realize how terrible the food really is. I can't say about breakfast because I make my own breakfast. I think that since I came here in January, the food has deteriorated something terrible. Is it because they want to save money or because the cook is awful.

My Mom moved in 2 years ago, I give 5 Star Premiere 5 stars for making my Mom feel at home, I give them 10 stars for there handling of Covid, starting from the GM and his entire staff deserve a huge thank you, and 5 Stars plus , the staff treat the residents like family , my Mom has not been this happy in years, my hats off to Marc and his entire team, it was the best choice we made for my Mom , thank you

My Dad has called Five Star in Teaneck home for a bit more than 2 years. He made new friends very quickly, aided by the Staffs efforts to engage and connect the residents. He particularly enjoys that there is an active Mens Club, as well as the group excursions, poker and some of the craft classes. Pure peace of mind for my siblings and me to see him happy, and in such a nice, caring community.

My Mother has been in independent living for several years. Five Star has been the ideal community for her. The staff is professional, caring and courteous. My Mother is now 99 years old!!! Thank you Five Star Team.

My 100 year old mom Shirley has been happily residing at Five Star for 8 years.She's always tells me how happy she is living there. I am so fortunate to have my mom living in such a beautiful place. Five Star is well kept, has wonderful food options, interesting activities and trips. I have eaten lunch with my mom many Fridays before the pandemic and I'm always amazed how the waitresses know my mom so well. The staff is professional as I know them well, having interacted with them throughout the years. They have been caring, attentive and there to always give my mom a helping hand. Laura, Danette, Marc, Joanie and Greg are just a few who have been there for my mom. During the pandemic Five Star has been very protective of all residents living there(Major testing of all staff and health care aides every week). I always feel that they are keeping her safe. Thank you Five Star for taking such good care of my mom!!

My 100 year old mother has been a resident at Five Star for about 8 years. I am so fortunate that she is in such a beautiful place. The facility is well kept, beautiful, has wonderful activities, and delicious food . I have had lunch with my mom in the dining room many times and I'm so impressed how they know my mom so well. The regular staff is terrific too. They are caring, attentive and always there to give a helping hand. I was very anxious during the pandemic that she was there and not with me, but I was reassured immediately. Five Star has been very protective of all the residents and I always felt that she was very safe there. Thank you Five Star for taking care of my mom!!! .

After doing a lot of research, we selected Five Star and were very glad we did. The atmosphere, service, professionalism, and caring were everything we had hoped for.

My mother has been here for 3 months now. She loves it, and we children are very pleased as well. The facility is attractive, comfortable and well maintained. The staff is warm, friendly and caring. My mother raves about the food. She has had some medical issues since her arrival and the staff has handled it all professionally, keeping the children well informed. We are very happy that we moved her here.

I have been to Five Star Premier Residences of Teaneck many times over the past 15 years. It is a beautiful facility and there is so much to do there. The food is fabulous as well as the staff. I love Shelley Edelson, the Community Relations Manager and have also known her for over 15 years. I highly recommend Five Star Premier Residences of Teaneck especially due to their warm and caring atmosphere!

My grandmother lived here for a number of years, and not only is the facility elegant and comfortable, clean and well-maintained, the staff are what make it stand out. They really invest time getting to know the residents and engaging them. Even when my grandmother moved out to a nursing home to receive more round-the-clock care, a member of the 5-Star staff came to visit her. And when she passed away recently, I received such warm condolences from the Activities Director, who knew her, but also from the new Executive Director.

My beautiful Mother is in the best place possible. It leaves me with a clear and happy mind each day because she is surrounded by the loving care of good people. She just moved from 8 years of IL to theAL wing downstairs. Paul, Martha, Beth, Danette all came from the front office and joined us with the rest of the staff to make this move a seamless operation. FIVE STAR really earned ?????????? This time!

I met Danette Gayle when I was looking for a residence for my mom. Both my sister and I thought Danette was the most fantastic sales person and first face of 5 star - while my other did not wind up living in five star Danette did continue to reach out and chat with my mom from time to time. She is honest, straightforward and helpful. I now have Danette back in my life as my Auntie is living at 5 Star and so far she really seems to be enjoying herself. Danette has helped to make this transition smooth (er)

A wonderful facility. Centrally located with bus service to NYC close by. Made it great for family from Manhattan to come out and visit my parents. Facilities always clean, staff was always polite and helpful to my folks. Parents enjoyed the many amenities, especially my dad who loved to walk around and see what was going on. Could always find my dad in the library or behind the computer when he was not out exploring.

My Mothers last 18 months were happy because of "Five Star".Everyone there was so caring. If anyone asks me about a place for a family member without hesitation I say "Five Star of Teaneck". I would like to share with you my last day with my Mother: On Monday 5/21/18 my Mother passed away, she would have been 100 on 5/23/18. I was able to spend 10 hours with her on her last day just the two of us alone. (people from Five Star came in to check on me often) I didn't stop talking or holding her hand. I was telling her how much we all loved her & how many people were waiting for her. I went over all the names. I told her to go to her happy place which we often spoke about which was horse back riding behind her Grandmothers house who we called "Grama by the chickies". I told her it was a beautiful day with the sun shining, a glorious breeze, the flowers were blooming & we could smell the lilic & honeysuckle. Then near the end I told her to relax, stay calm, everything was alright & there was nothing for her to do just to let her Mother help her. I called the priest from St.Leons & left him a message around 11 am. He walked in around 4:15 & was able to give her last rights. She passed away just a few minutes later. I think she was telling me that I needed to do one more thing for her before she would go.

Five Star Residence (assisted living) has proven to be an ideal environment for my mom. My mom was living in Florida independently before she had obstructive bowel surgery which caused her to be severely compromised both physically and mentally. After 3 weeks in the hospital and 14 weeks in rehab in Florida she became strong enough to move north near me. During this ordeal the staff at Five Star Residences at Teaneck were both compassionate and generous with their time. They held my hand throughout the entire process of bringing mom north. The aides and nurses continue to show their compassion and take good care of her so I worry less knowing she is in an excellent place..

As a former home healthcare provider, I have had the opportunity to visit many senior facilities and residences throughout the years and throughout the State. I have always found the staff and physical facilities at 5 Star to be second to none! They maintain the building and grounds beautifully and I have been impressed with how well they know and respect each resident. I would not hesitate to recommend this residence to anyone seeking a caring and upscale lifestyle.

For the past four years, I took care of my husband as his illness progressed. He died six months ago. Several of my friends have died and several have moved far away. Life as I knew it would never be the same again. I moved to Five Star feeling I had come to the end of the line. But, thats not so. Living here for just 7 weeks has given me a new found hope. There are so many activities to choose from. The staff are extremely caring and helpful. I am meeting so many warm and welcoming people. This is not the end of the line. It is just the beginning of a new line!

Over the past month or two, as Five Star Residences has patiently guided me through my initial tour, through the approval process, to preparing for my fathers moving in, I have been nothing but struck by how much care and planning they have put into making my Dads transition as smooth and easy as possible. My endless questions and emails were met with immediate responses. Having toured four other facilities prior to deciding on Five Star, it was quite an easy decision--a very homey Five Star, where I could envision myself living there very comfortably and feeling cared for vs. any of the other facilities I was considering, which all felt more like institutions by comparison. From my initial meeting with the director of sales, Clyde (BTW, there is none better), to working with some of the best staff in the industry (e.g., Martha, who has worked relentlessly to get everything in perfect shape prior to the move-in), I simply couldnt have asked for anything more! The day my almost 96 year old dad moved in, he felt a little sick from the long trip up from Florida. Daniel, the concierge, was so amazingly caring and helpful in quickly checking my dad in and ensuring he had a good meal. I was touched! I simply cant imagine a better place for my dad to reside than Five Star!

On our first visit my family and I were very impresses by the elegant look of the Five Star building. We walked around the grounds and were delighted by the lovely trees, plants and flowers. Inside we were pleased by the well lit dining area,the Wintergarden and its grand piano,the library and many rooms foe meetings. another plus was my apartment which was well planned, sunny and spacious. My wife and I have lived here for four years. WE visited four other places before deciding. Hilda and I agree that we chose the right place at the right time. The dedicated staff is not rated excellent but SUPERIOR! The programs and entertainment are excellent with few exceptions.This is THE place.

We had a quarantine recently due to the Norovirus. At once all the precautionary plan went into place. Assembly was cancelled immediately and food was brought over to each apartment. Everything ran smoothly,thanks to the dedication
