After looking at several places my sister and I chose SH. Turned out to be a mistake. When the Director (Dan) left things went from bad to worse. The new temporary Director (Bianca) is implementing a lot of changes. Many of them are good, but it resulted in them forgetting to put our mom to bed or get her out of bed 3 times! Many staff left including the Director of Nursing. Now the memory floor often smells of urine near the main door. We kept mom there, but after 1 year we decided not to keep her there. Really wanted it to be her last residence, but unfortunately it's not. Hopefully her new place will be better.

Great place my mom loves it and everything is brand new furniture etc

My father in law has been living in the nursing home since 2018 I think. The nurses on his floor are overworked and most likely underpaid but they still can muster up a smile most days. Before covid, it was always clean and nurses and CNA's were happy. Now I assume they can't reach proper ratios because most days, the smell of urine is overwhelming and I have seen residents in despair. I don't visit as often as I used to but it is clear that with new ownership and the new world after , Spring Hills is struggling to be what Atrium was.covid

Please do not place your loved ones here. Under the new management the place has gone downhill and the new director is awful to deal with. The level of care is terrible and the aides are very unfriendly and uncaring.

I would just like to say thank you so much for the care and consideration given to my friend Annamarie while in your facility. Being geographically far from her and with the pandemic, in person visits were near impossible. The staff, especially Lorraine helped by face timing whenever I requested. Kristina was also a great help with any financial matters. Their kind, concerned and attentive care put me at ease knowing Annemarie was in good hands. To the very end their devotion did not waver. I will be forever grateful! Cindy Schaaf

Watch all of your personal belongings! Hide them! The aides like to steal them! And nothing is done about it! very sad! Also the place smells like urine! And the care is bad! And food awful! Also the above reviews are not real!!!

I do not agree with the comment below that they handled the virus well. I understand completely that the months between March and July have been a pandemic situation. But the way that the atrium handled the care of my grandfather, as well as after care of his belongings once he PASSED from Covid he contracted in the facility was absolutely appalling and completely unsympathetic. My grandfather passed at the height of this pandemic, so understandably we were unable to visit. However no one was allowed in or out due to the restrictions. So at no point were we able to pick up his belongings. The facility run condescending and dishonest Brian Long claims they told my family for months to remove his personal belongings. This was untrue, and also not possible during the height of a pandemic. Furthermore, when we were finally allowed to pick up items, they gave us a date we NEEDED to have everything out or it would be thrown away. We complied. When we arrived every single one one of his drawers and belongings were gone through, packed up and basically waiting to be discarded. Again. We were never told someone would be doing this. We have no idea what’s been potentially taken, how it was handled in regard to pandemic regulations and did not offer us the opportunity to handle such a difficult situation as a family. Overall this unfortunate situation was handled with no regard to a grieving family during and even more difficult time. I would not ever send another relative to live in a place where the man who runs it has no care or concern for those who live there.

My brother is blind and also has cerebal palsy. He is very happy with his care. Thank you!

Our 88 year old aunt has been in the Memory Care Section for several months now and we are most pleased with the care and concern that has been shown to her by her aides, nursing staff and the administrative office. They all are dedicated, committed and informative individuals, especially during these difficult times with the coronavirus. In addition, they have provided daily updates via teleconferences to keep the families informed and also provided Facetime opportunities with our loved ones in the absence of a personal visit. Their attention to detail in keeping the residents safe and protected has been extraordinary. They are very pro-active in minimizing the potential spread of the virus and for that we are most grateful. I would also mention that Brian Long, the executive director, has provided an extra level of service and care that is of the highest standard along with his assistants, Laura Mason, Jen and Lorraine.

very satisfy with the Atrium. They are doing an excellent job with the virus. Keeping everybody informed with a daily conference call.

Recently my family and I had to make the decision to put my grandma in a nursing home. I never wanted that for her, however she is 89 years old and it's whats best for her. The care she needs is beyond what my family and I could give her. When looking for nursing homes for a loved one it can be a very upsetting and anxious process. People with money are favored over people with insurance but either way the prices are absurd. No place is going to be good enough for your loved one and it isn't until your first visit that the situation really kicks in. Atrium was the best option with our means that we had. A nursing home is a nursing home there's no getting around that. But atrium has treated my grandma well. If your looking for a nursing home in the Matawan area check them out.
