In her prime, my mother was very active. She owned and operated two large nursing homes. As her memory started to fail, she could no longer live by herself, but still wanted a place of her own, like an apartment. We looked at all the assisted living facilities in our area. One Saturday afternoon we stopped by Brookdale at Hillsborough, unannounced. They were not scheduled to do tours that day, but one of the staff happily stepped up and offered to show us around. While on the tour, we interviewed two other staff members "off the record". With smiles, all three said they really enjoyed working there and liked taking care of the residents. There was a real home-like feel about the place. This was in 2019 and our experience since then has been consistent with our initial positive impressions. In particular, they have done a stellar job handling all the difficulties associated with the Covid pandemic. When she first moved in, it took mom a couple weeks to get used to the idea of leaving her house, but since then she has been very happy with her "lovely apartment". Trying to keep her in her house (she lived 3 hours away) with visiting nurses would have been a nightmare. After my mother being in my local Brookdale site for years I had to move out of state, but I know she is well taken care of and they keep me informed of everything going on in her life now. We are blessed to have these people in our lives, especially during these trying covid times.

Lovely facility except for size of rooms-very small. Pricey although fee includes room cleaning, laundry, phone, cable, Wi-Fi, meals, basic PT and OT activities, and nurse on prem. Administering medication, personal care, etc. extra. Lots of activities. Residents looked happy. Good vibes.

This community looked nice when we visited. The staff we met were nice and the community felt warm and inviting. The main room and dinning area were just a little to big for my loved one.

Overall I have no complaints of this community they have provided my mother with excellent care and have really made her comfortable in her new living environment. They have a great menu for the residents to choose from with a wide variety of meals. They also have a great activity program offered throughout the week as well as off campus field trips. I am very pleased with everything at this facility and would defiantly recommend it

I have been the Resident Program Director here for 17 years and can't say enough about the caring, devoted and passionate team of people at Brookdale Hillsborough. We are truly a family of residents, staff and family members who enjoy life to it's fullest.
