My mother spent over four years at Spring Hills/The Addison before she passed. I was lucky to have found this place. My mom did not have much savings, and they admitted her with just the first month rent, last month rent, and one time community fee. No big six figures up front, non-refundable buy in, just first, last, and community. It totaled less than a used car. Mom and I visited several other facilities, and they all wanted a large amount of money up front. The staff was wonderful, caring, patient and good humored. The restaurant is a former pub that my wife and I used to frequent when it was a retail establishment. The restaurant has menus to pick from, white tablecloths and very good food. On holidays, there there are barbeques, and turkey dinners. You can join your loved ones for dinner, and we even were placed in a private dining room for a family birthday party. I can't say enough about how wonderful the staff treats the residents. After mom's savings were exhausted, she qualified for Medicaid. Her first two years were in the assisted living independent living, the last two years she was in the memory unit under Medicaid. She stayed in the same room under medicaid and when she had to go to the memory unit, the staff helped to set up her room in the same orientation that she had in the independent unit. It was a big help in her adjusting to the memory unit. I lived close by, so I was visiting mom several times a week. Always the same caring, upbeat and friendly staff. Thanks to Robert, Rosa, Pat, Daisy, Tonya and all you wonderful folks that cared for mom.

My aunt moved here recently, and loves it. Kristin and her assistant are wonderful. My aunt and I had a nice visit in the courtyard. I’ve recommended your facility to 2 friends already. Pat at the desk is so friendly. She deserves to be employee of the month. I told the Director that too. Great employees, very friendly.

I was very fortunate to share this community with one of my clients today. We met with Maureen who was lovely! She is extremely knowledgeable in senior living with over 20 years experience. I felt she was very resident and family focused. I appreciated her willingness to share about the community and answer many important questions. We were greeted by so many friendly faces, some residents and staff! It was a pleasure.

My family and I have been really impressed with this place. The community is always super clean and well kept, and it just has a really comfortable, welcoming feeling when you walk in. The staff are genuinely kind and you can tell they truly care about the residents and take the time to help everyone. It’s nice seeing a place where people seem happy and well looked after. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great assisted living community.

My mother has been residing at Spring Hills Cherry Hill for the past 10 months. I am pleased to write this review to indicate that I highly recommend this facility as a safe and caring community. Ten months ago, my mother’s dementia deteriorated to include a level of paranoia that made it unsustainable for her to continue living with us safely. At the end of our search for a perfect place for her we chose Spring Hills Cherry Hill for these reasons: The first person I spoke with, Russell, took time to discuss mom’s current finances as well as gave valuable insights about how to plan wisely beyond the immediate future. Head nurse, Sheree, after conducting mom’s pre-admission interview suggested that we give her a trial in the assisted living section of the facility instead of going straight to Memory Care. We appreciated the suggestion because, though limited by her short-term memory issues, mom is fiercely independent. And, when I walked through the doors of the beautiful facility I knew mom would love it! I was right. During the first months of being there, no matter what she complained about, she would always end by saying but this is a really beautiful place! Over these past ten months, we experienced highs and lows. But one thing I can say is that the staff at Spring Hills has been consistently responsive and caring. Sheree has never failed to respond to a phone call - even on her night/day off. I could count on an in person meeting with Sheree. She sometimes invited care team members - Caryn, Eddie - who were helpful in developing strategies to help mom adjust. I've been impressed with how quickly broken things get fixed. Mom spent 6 months on the assisted living side. She sometimes complained about being alone and not knowing anyone. However, whenever we visited, several residents and staff greeted her by name and chatted with us. Although seemingly happy during the day, mom’s complaints of loneliness increased. Our family, plus Sheree and staff tried multiple interventions without any lasting result. I began thinking about moving mom to Memory Care - The Cottage. We were all conflicted about it. Would mom be upset about losing some freedoms? But would she benefit from the smaller group of residents and more frequent interaction with staff? Sheree and Caryn took me to see The Cottage. I was happy, when introduced to Sheila, the nurse in charge of The Cottage, when she said she knows mom and spoke with me like we’d known each other a long time. A month after that tour we decided to move mom into the Cottage. I was very nervous. Will the move be too disruptive? Sheree, Eddie and Sheila (possibly others) collaborated and moved mom to an exact style apartment where her things were placed exactly as they were in her first apartment. Mom was not upset at all. The move to the Cottage has proven to be a good one. Sheila, like Sheree, has been very reachable and responsive. Sheila adjusted some rules that allow mom to exercise her independence while remaining safe. The structured routines, attentive staff, and seeing the same residents every day have allowed mom to feel a sense of community and form some bonds.

my mom, rita, was an extremely hard sell to enter assisted living. i must give props to rita, matt & ken for convincing her that this was the right, safe & convenient thing to do. they assisned us a moving consultant that organized the entire move. when i saw where they had placed what and where, it deserved to be on HGTV. they even gathered the clothes for mom. the room layout is intelligent, large den & bedroom, a decent sized working kitchen, a walk in closet that would only be seen in a mcmansion and a bathroom with a sower, toilet & sink. the bathroom is a bit cramped. there is internet and cable setbox for 1 tv. maintenance was prompt putting the flat screen on the wall and hanging pictures & paintings. 1st class move in. mom did not use the facilities as much as i had desired. but apart from the daily activities of games, trivia & religious services; it is non denominational but mom who was jewish told me that she even attended a few shabbat services which is something she had not done in 50+ years. the meals were served in a retro fitted english styled pub. over the 18+ months, there were numerous chefs & menus - some great and some not. they recently changed from a choose from our menu to a fixed a menu that changes daily. i will say that their cheesburgers always rocked. there is a gym where i would sneak in a 20 minute workout of free weights, a universal, and bars on the wall for stretching & yoga. there is a daily exercise program and physical therapies. there is a salon as well. the lobby is very inviting but being a former hotel, back in 1972 dad was transferred to philly and we live there until our home was finished, it has steps and ramps that is a bit confusing at your initial glance. there is a concierge at the front desk. they were without exception attentive mom's demands. if you give them advanced notice, they can drive you to your doctors or call for medical transport. but the reason why we push our loved ones to a Spring Hills is medical & drug care. mom had several illnesses; parkinsons, a blood disease, copd, all within an 89 year body. they were usually spot on monitoring mom's drugs, of which there were many. mom had a weekly visting from samaritan physicians where they informed nursing staff. the nursing staff can be over whelmed because a resident at any moment can experience a fall, a heart attack, etc. they could use more staffing but nurses like melissa & denise were spot on and would bring the meds to mom if she failed to show up at the wellness center. but everytime mom needed to go to the hospital, they arranged everything and if she stayed, they would visit. now sad to say, mom had to enter hospice in early november. i was quite concerned but oh my, they did such an excellent job til the end working with samaritan. sheree, sheilia & rosa made her final days comfortable. i was there almost daily but i can assure you that they made hoirly visits, administered the meds, and kept her clean. when mom sadly passed, the attention to provide my family & me was a loving touch that we all appreciated. no place is perfect, affordability for many will be a challenge, and the property is 50 years old which has charms & limitations. but from my experience, having mom there was the right choice. thank you.

On September 18, 2024, my mom reached an incredible milestone. She celebrated her 100th birthday at Springhills and the event was absolutely incredible. I am so grateful to the staff of Springhills for the most amazing party to celebrate my mom’s 100th birthday. In particular, Eddy, SheRee, Hilsia, and Carlton. She had her hair done in the salon, and Hilsia and SheRee made sure she was made up and dressed like a celebrity. Carlton arranged the buffet tables to allow easy access to the delicious food that was served. We had two excellent servers who were so professional and friendly (sorry, I don’t know their names). The Town Hall was transformed into an elegant, inviting venue. Ed made sure everything was perfect, including the music. Carlton really went above and beyond ensuring everything was perfect. Everyone commented on how friendly and cordial the staff was and they definitely enjoyed the food and desserts. Thank you for making this event so special and going above and beyond.

My first contact with Spring Hills Cherry Hill was Pat C. She is incredibly kind and very easy to communicate with. Actually that has been true in general. They have been kind and helpful and caring. Rosa, and the many caregivers have been very helpful! Despite an unforeseen issue, the team here has stepped up and gone beyond what they or I had expected would be needed. From the Wellness and Caregiver team, to culinary, maintenance, activities, PT, and OT teams, they look out for you and encourage you and help you.

It all happened so fast, but I never felt alone. Once my mom fell for the second time, I knew I no longer had the ability to care for her alone. Commuting home from work, I always passed Spring Hill and knew proximity-to-home wise, it was my best option. Little did I know, location would be eclipsed by the people I met and the experience my mother had in her last days. I walked in without an appointment, but out of desperation on a Friday morning and was introduced to my first friendly face, Rosa. Although not on duty as a tour giver that day, she took the time to give me a detailed walk through the beautiful facility, showing us the progress of their new renovations and answering some of my general questions. It was not the renovations that sold me, although mom was lucky enough to have a renovated room, but how Rosa treated all of the residents in the common areas and also how they responded to her. That kindness never retired. I began to move forward with the process of getting all of mom’s finances and medical care/ medications in order when I met Shari. Shari is the director of the nursing team and a very very special human being. Her accessibility and communication skills are matched only by her compassion and the dignity she offered to my mother. Making multiple house calls in one week to assess my mom’s condition and staying in constant contact with me during the process, Shari continued to go above and beyond throughout the entirety of my mother’s stay at Spring Hill. On move-in day (an impressive one week after my initial, unannounced walk-in tour with Rosa) I met many dedicated workers who helped me with bringing in my mothers furniture. They helped me more than I could have ever imagined. Ken Halsey was the manager and he made me feel completely at ease. Very accessible by phone for me and was attentive to all of my questions/concerns. He was the one who was able to make it possible for my mother to get quality care quickly. Unfortunately, mom only spent about one month at Spring Hill before passing away, but I always felt like I was immediately part of their family. The place has a kindness that I am grateful for and appreciative of because my mom was at peace. When I came back, all of the staff would tell me how they loved working with my mother. It was more than just words. They had stories of how they enjoyed my mother and that made me feel that it was reciprocal. Overall, I will forever be grateful for the people such as Ken, Shari, and Rosa for taking care of my mother and letting her have the dignity to live her final days the way she enjoyed.

I have been living here for a year now and could not be happier. The staff and programs are wonderful. My days are filled with many activities, and I have made many new friends. Everyone knows your name and if I need help, someone is around to assist. The facilities are well kept and clean, especially my own apartment which gets a weekly cleaning. This was a great move for me and my family.

My parent is 86 and has lived there nearly 9 years. DO NOT MOVE IN THAT PLACE!!! I DON'T CARE WHAT LIES THE SALESFORCE TELLS YOU. There is a revolving door for staff and now, residents who just moved in 6 months ago are moving out and! There is 1 person in charge of the whole facility that holds 125 residents, including what they call, a memory unit. They have just lost their director of nursing care after only one year, and the before, and the one before. That doesn't even count a 2 person recreational dept that just hired 6 enthusiastic staff? They lost her after chef and the servers never worked I a restaurant or diner before! Residents who are blind or hard of hearing are NOT accommodated, food is hard, sallty & 1-2 hours from entering the old restaurant they kept, but only use half, cold or uncooked food. "Emergency GPS locator pendants are NOT GPS. They sometimes go to a computer system and they have 15 minutes to respond and try to find where the residents are. Then it goes to 2nd level, then 3rd. I had to call for a half hour to the front desk to find a nurse or anyone at 9 am during the week, to finally go to see that she was unresponsive and had fallen on the floor in front of living room recliner and I later found that the day before, when I noticed she was a little off, I asked the nurses to check on her through the night, only to find her on the floor 24 or more hours later. They couldn't even find out which hospital to send her to and by the time I reached it, they had sent her to another hospital. Horrific, nightmare of dirt, no proper response to families AND residents, including not send updated covid or ANY information their app they don't know how to use for the past 4 years! She's currently looking into moving a few miles away, to where her ew frien is moving. There Isa waiting list and this person just put her small deposit down. Not thousands of dollars. They haven't painted her apt in 9 years until last month, when they hired 2 maintenance men that mostly work on weekends and become the MANAGER ON DUTY during their shifts so the company doesn't have to pay for that and they rarely tell the families anything anymore. 9 years ago, that's what you'll see on the website and what you'll hear when you call to get in. They're spending money for new carpet in their many vacant Apts while my loved one has to beg and nearly lie to get someone to paint where her wheelchair has been rubbing along the walls. Do NOT MOVE IN!!!

Just like any other place you have to keep on top of them especially if your loved one is in memory care. Most employees are wonderful and understanding, and then you have some that are ignorant and unfriendly, not to the resident, just to the family that is visiting. If you are planning to send a loved one here, you have to keep on top of them, visit frequently, and come in at random times to see what's going on. I know that they are making do with what they have, but for the price we pay it should be better.

Spring Hills is a great place. My aunt has lived here for over a year, and Spring Hills kept her safe. We are always in the loop on what is happening, and the staff and management is very accommodating. This facility looks like a highly rated hotel, e.g., magnificent chandlers as you enter, a grand piano to the left, a beautiful courtyard ahead, and more. The fact is, it was a hotel originally. It was not built to be an assisted living facility and it pales in comparison to those that were. I just moved my parents out after almost two years. Here’s what I’ve learned: 1. Don’t judge an assisted living facility by its ambience. 2. Don’t buy into the marketing, their main objective is the bottom line. Business is business so that’s fair, however, marketing promises are quickly forgotten. 3. Visit frequently to access care, weekend staffing (consistently short-handed prior to and during the Covid outbreak, the latter is understandable), room maintenance, and dining services among other things. 4. Senior management inside and outside the facility talk the talk, but don’t walk the walk. Two Executive Directors (site leader position) resigned within the last year. 5. It appears middle management and their staffs are trained to say yes to all requests. As a result, some requests are fulfilled, however, most die on the vine. 6. Nurses, Caregivers, Facility and Services personnel and the Food Service staff appear to be underpaid, overworked, and have very poor morale. Some soldier through because they are dedicated, caring, and focused on resident care above all else. These are the true superstars and they have our undying respect and gratitude. Others show their frustration by acting out, shirking responsibilities, and being disrespectful to the residents. I think you get the point and hope this helps those looking for an assisted living facility for themselves or their loved ones.

My mother has been a resident in the memory care unit at Spring Hills for more than four years. I could not be more pleased! The care she gets is loving and personal. The staff takes the time to know her and her family. If I have any concerns, they are addressed immediately. Every day is planned with appropriate activities. When they realized that she missed reading (she has poor eyesight), they arranged for her to have books on tape! She has a private room and bath. First and foremost, we commend the entire staff for their positive and respectful attitude toward residents and family members. In addition, the management, particularly Mike Lando, has been extraordinarily responsive to our changing needs. He has been available, collaborative and concerned. He and the entire staff demonstrate a true partnership approach in meeting the needs of our parents as well as us. Circumstances have given us the opportunity to spend substantial time in the community and this has provided us with great insight into how it functions. The flexible delivery of "care-in-place" has been enormously important to us and is a particular benefit of Spring Hills. The beauty of the physical environment and the philosophy and approach to resident care provides the perfect combination for assisted living. We give this a 5 star rating.
