My mom was at Hackett Hill for 5 weeks learning how to walk again after a traumatic injury from fall. The staff were incredible. Therapy team was super engaging and nursing supported her care so she could recover and come home. We are very grateful to the team at Hackett Hill.

Great staff
May 2026
I wish I could give the nurses and cna's 5 stars and the management and social worker zero stars. I say management because someone should be overseeing facility operations and fixing the problem. I'll do the "good" part of the review first. I'm mostly speaking on the second shift staff because thats who's there everyday when I go see my 76 year old father who's currently there. The nurses (especially Jessica!! Thank GOD for Jessica Hackett Hill is so lucky to have her and I'm not kidding) and some cna's are sweet, attentive, and helpful. And my dad loves the food (it's way better than the hospital food) and I noticed they have a full weekly calendar of things for the patients to do like bingo, Walmart trips, and tons of activities for them all day which is nice. Oh and they have catholic tv channel which is an instant win for dad. Now the "BAD" They clearly dont have daily housekeeping. The overwhelming smell of hot urine and unshowered people hits you a soon as you walk in the building. Its so strong you bring the smell home with you. They must keep the dirty diapers in the hallways, you have to hold your breath trying to make it to the room. Once your family member is there you will hear from the "social worker" Taylor within a week or so, she will introduce herself over the phone and explain shes the one who will determine their needed rehab and estimated discharge date and once she meets them and figures that all out she will let you know in a day or two. But you will never hear from her again. She won't return any of the 30 messages you leave. If anyone ever does answer the phone during business hours (because they usually just pick up the phone and hang it up so you cant even get transfered to any extension) you will be transferred to her voicemail that cuts off after 15 seconds. And you will be stuck relying on the second shift nurses to answer questions if they can. Which they usually can't because there's no updates to patients charts. Example. Ive been calling for 10 days to speak to Taylor (since the day she called to introduce herself) because dad needs to see a cardiologist immediately after leaving the hospital 3 weeks ago. I told Taylor the day I spoke to her. I have also asked his nurses every time im there about it so they have left messages and I'm still waiting. Today dad calls me to tell me he was told hes being discharged next week (news to me 2 days ago his paper work has him scheduled for PT for the next 4 weeks) and that someone came in today to get his $100 payment for transportation to his appointment!! He doesn't have any appointments that I know of. But Taylor did tell me that one time we spoke that it could be $100 to transport if its out of Manchester. I called multiple times. Of course never get through. I get out of work and call and speak to the 2nd shift nurse and ask what appointment? And when did they decide on a discharge date? Long story short, now we're all confused because his chart was updated today saying "may be discharged TOMORROW" and also there is no appointment set or noted for him at all on the appointment calendar. They checked everywhere and have no record of any appointments. I don't want to make accusations but at the very least the management of these patients is bizarre and unacceptable and it should never be impossible to get in contact with them. I'm 100% sure the only reason this place exists is because it's 1 of 2 facilities in Manchester that except Medicare/humana so if your loved ones have to end up here make sure you are there everyday day checking on them and that they are not being taken advantage of. Also, they only shower the patients once a week. Im sure most patients aren't able to shower without help but my dad is. And now he won't because the "shower room" is a wide open shower (think like prison movies) with a nurse observing him while he showers. They should have accommodations for independent patients also. Just a suggestion. Bottom line do some research before picking Hackett Hill. Im sure Hanover hill can't smell this bad and has management.

Currently I am residing at Hackett Hill rehab and I want to give a few words on my stay here. The staff has been incredibly generous and kind with the care that they give here that I’ve received from the director to the director of admissions Kierra, to the director of social services Taylor, I have received an overwhelming love and care. The staff in the kitchen, Beth, is very generous of what she does in the food service. The food is very good here; I can’t say enough about the food. If anybody is looking for care, Hackett Hill is 100% in giving care and love to their patients and residents. Rehab services gave me what I needed to get better and to go home. I can’t say enough about Hackett Hill and the way I feel about this facility. I’m grateful that I had the opportunity to come here and get better because I’ve learned so much about myself and independence. I’ve been here three times and the care that I’ve received is very overwhelming. Like I said I can’t say enough for Hackett Hill and the staff and the facility itself so if you’re interested in getting better and getting rehab, Hackett Hill is the place to come.

I was recently at Hackett Hill rehab and was very pleased with my care. The staff is very professional and with a lot of experience. Any need you have will be met if possible of course. The menu for the food was very good too. Everything I ate there was very good and plenty. I would not hesitate to go there again if need be. A big hug and thank you to all employed there.

I had a wonderful experience at Hackett Hill Nursing Home. The staff is incredibly caring and attentive, always ensuring that residents feel comfortable and valued. The Director of Nursing (DON) is doing an amazing job, leading the team with compassion and dedication. The facility is clean and well-organized, with a warm, inviting atmosphere. Residents have access to a variety of engaging activities that promote social interaction and well-being. Overall, Hackett Hill provides a supportive environment where loved ones can thrive. Highly recommended! and the activities director haillee comes up with brilliant social activities for these residents! such a wonderful place for loved ones!

The only nice thing i can see is that some of the staff do care ..my father was only there about 3 weeks i was there evry day at the time he was declining and dying but what caused me the most disgrace was the way upper managment treated familys no care in the world and documentation is degrading i couldnt even get my father a can of soup had to go out and buy it my self one aide was super great helping me keep my father as comfortable as possible and some of the nurses would call me but for managment to not understand when a patient is dying and is a veteran and talk about billing in front of a dying p t is disgraceful and houskeeping doesnt even clean he ended up with bedsores that he didnt have when he went in there but as soon as hospice took over it was a remakable diffrence..also the older woman at the front desk is rude and condescending he was there 8/23 to 9/23( just to follow up hackett hill after talking with administration has agreed to educate and teach customer service and nutrition in regards to familys and patients

June 2023
Hackett Hill is a very nice rehab center. I have been in many, and this by far was one of the cleanest and homiest with no malodorous sections at all. The hallways are nice and wide and they are many places to go with the patient instead of just being in the patient’s room. Common areas are very nice and I love that the wings are named with street names. I also was pleased with the security check by in that they have. Each person must sign in, have your picture taken and printed on a name tag that you wear designating that you are a visitor. Overall a very good experience and my uncle, as a patient, was well cared for and even liked the food!

I was at Hackett Hill for a week. I was placed there for intense physical and occupational therapy because of numbness and tingling in my legs and not being able to walk. I am leaving here walking better than before my injury. The physical and occupational therapy staff are amazing and push you to your limits. The nurses were right on top of everything for me. Never once did I have to ask for anything except my prn medication. The LNAs are always amazing too. Getting you things before you need it. Whenever you ask for things they get it with a smile. The do checks of your rooms all the time, and it very funny, the aides and nurses make you laugh. Of course there are days they are overworked, but they don’t let residents know. They just keep smiling and working to do what they need to do. I need my other need replaced soon, I can definitely say I will be coming here for rehab
April 2021
My father had the best stay here! The therapy center was amazing. We love the team at Hackett Hill
October 2020
February 2020
My experience has been wonderful and the staff were great. Even though therapy was tough, I am now able to sit up and move around with my cane and walker. Anytime I needed something it was there and prompt. I thoroughly enjoyed Anne the nurse. She always knew when I was not feeling well and was caring and compassion with me. My daughter also was very happy with her with me. The food needs some help but there was always alternates that were very good. I am coming back to visit and volunteer with the recreation department. The Saturday morning exercise program was wonderful. It was fun, entertaining and motivating. I met a lot of nice people. The recreation director's dancing moves were exciting and she was able to get everyone to socialize with each other during group exercise. Music makes a difference in peoples lives and it showed during group exercise.
February 2020
This was my second admission at the center. For the most part the staff were great....ZOEY AND JACK were beyond amazing to me. Food could use some TLC. Therapy was good and I appreciated Matt motivating me and Shelly believing in me. Recreation was fun, arts and crafts were different for me and the staff were always upbeat. The Saturday group exercise was so much fun and it was nice to exercise with music.

December 2019
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. Everyone treated me very well. I specifically loved the daily activities and being able to go out on trips. The staff were fun and accommodated me. Kris always got along with everyone and really puts effort into motivating others. The nurses and LNAs had a lot of passion and care. It showed all the time. If I had to come back for whatever reason this is the place I would choose.

The facility and staff are fantastic. It's clean and the environment is comfortable. The only thing that I have struggled with is the wait time to see an LAN or nurse but I understand they get busy and between shifts can be difficult.
July 2019
My mom recently went to Hackett Hill Center for post surgical rehab. She had an overall good experience. The food could have been a little better, however the staff was overwhelmingly supportive and kind throughout her stay. Hackett Hill had great therapists, who always listened to my mom’s concerns even though she can be difficult to deal with at times. The staff kept up with fresh sheets and cleaned appropriately throughout the stay. My mom went home on her own safely, thanks to the hard work of rehab and nursing there.
