My dad has been at The Meadows over 7 years and absolutely loves it, and so do I! Everyone who works here cares, and it shows. I am here about 4 times a week and I see the staff treat the residents and their families with great kindness and appropriate sensitivity when necessary. My dad thoroughly enjoys the community atmosphere and spends most of his time in the common areas engaging with other residents and taking part in the wide variety of activities that the Life Enrichment team provide. The kitchen produces great food and a wide variety of entrees and options. The meals for the holidays are exceptional! The rest of the crew, from maintenance to nursing to housekeeping and the drivers are all top notch. Knowing that my dad is happy, comfortable and safe gives me incredible peace of mind. I highly recommend The Meadows.

The Meadows provides personal service to our family member. They create relationships and establish a sense of trust with the resident and their family. We are very thankful for this facility and their staff. We enthusiastically recommend the caring environment that is present the minute you enter.

My mother is very happy at The Meadows Independent Living, and I have no complaints about the care. However, I would say the biggest thing that needs to be improved on is communication between the residents and the staff. Many times activities are cancelled with no reason being given or little or no notice is given for activities. Last week, a family night was planned, but neither my mother nor any of her family were aware of it until the day before. That makes it difficult to plan and attend, especially for those who live out of town. My mother is also very frustrated that any complaints meant to be constructive fall on deaf ears and nothing gets changed.

A couple things I like about living at the Meadows is that I save money, and I like the people who live and work here, and also love the activities that they offer.

Our mother entered the Meadow Assisted Livin in February of this year. She has been treated very well by the staff. She is a little shy about going anywhere or participating in activities by herself. The staff has been very helpful with giving her cues or taking her to activities. She has all the comforts of home in her room and is liking the outdoor areas more and more. We feel very confident that as she adapts to this new environment she will be very happy.

Nice and clean facility with really helpful staff. Admissions director got my grandmother in on a bit of a short notice and made the process easy, very appreciative for that. The kitchen does an amazing job. Place helps give peace of mind knowing my grandmother is well looked after.

My parents have called The Meadows home for over a year and a half. We are so thankful for a safe, welcoming, and pet friendly environment. They enjoy a wide variety of food options and appreciate the friendly staff. Dad often comments on how the yard and building is always well maintained.

I’m very happy that my Dad chose independent living at the Meadows. He’s safe, cared for, happy, and engaged. There are plenty of activities (Lynn K is amazing!) He really enjoys the fitness center and is glad to have a garage for his vehicle.

This is a wonderful establishment! The staff go above and beyond each day to make sure the residents are happy , healthy and cared for ! A big shout out to the Life Enrichment coordinator who takes the time each day to go above and beyond ensuring that the residents have plenty of fun activities each and everyday! The residents have a calendar of fun activities that they can choose from everyday!! This keeps everyone in an upbeat mood and offers a fun loving atmosphere! If you are looking for a senior living home for your loved one, I highly recommend The Meadows in Norfolk!
