I have stayed at gateway on two occasions. For great rehabilitation. I loved my time there. When it came time to choose an assistance living place. I wanted very much to stay at gateway. But was told I had to pay the first two years out of pocket. Before my med waiver would take over. I was very saddened . I still love the place.

We are not having a good experience with my father. Way understaffed. They get him in to the chair and leave him sit for 9 hours on an open butt sore. We have to ask 3-4 times to get water. NOT good care!

My wife needed respite care support while recovering from a broken leg. We found Gateway staff to be kind, attentive, and encouraging while providing the support and assistance needed during her recovery. Staff worked to insure all her needs were met during her recovery both in her assisted living apartment and in her therapy. The OT and PT staff expertly created an effective plan and with their dedicated support helped her build back her strength, flexibility, and stamina. Their dedication and care plan were critical in my wife being able to return to our home.

From start to finish, my experience with Gateway Vista Assisted Living has been only positive. I researched many places in Lincoln for my mom to live, and Gateway Vista checked all the boxes. Mom was in Gateway Vista Rehab twice in the past year and had good experiences both times. Bobby Hall has been professional yet personable with the many questions I have had, which made planning the logistics for this major life move so much easier. Since moving in, my mom is so happy with her apartment, the staff, the meals, being cared for, and feeling safe. She has felt welcomed since day one, and we couldn't ask for more than that!

Not the greatest short stay after hearing high remarks and seeing the reviews. Willing to forgive and move on. Our father was there for rehab and a fall risk. We stated in the beginning, that he could not wait due to a previous surgery, and would need quick assistance to get to the bathroom, at least until he was in better shape. He had accidents trying to make it to the bathroom on his own the 1st 24hrs. A tourniquet was left on his arm after taking blood. It was hours later before it was found after he complained of pain and numbness in his arm. The director of nursing in a later phone call stated if we would have brought those concerns to HER sooner, she could have addressed it then. She did offer apologies for the incidents. We have filed a formal complaint with DHHS, prior to receiving a return call after this review was posted. It was explained that the medications weren't being sent and the individual taking him home should have had that explained to them. I am editing my rating to a 3, based on communication I was unaware of. I was asked to reconsider my review (which I have), but I have left the facts and hope they can do better.

Transitioning from your home to assisted living can be one of the most difficult decisions in our lives. My mother recently made this transition. The entire staff at Gateway Vista has helped to make the transition a positive experience. Bobby, the Director of Assisted Living, has been a wonderful asset! His dedicated attention to our needs has been excellent! The maintenance staff worked hard to ensure all our needs were met. All the services are wonderful! Meals, therapy, transportation, and the activities are excellent! However, the Staff is what makes Gateway Vista a wonderful Senior Living facility. Caleb, Bobby, Ricki, Shawn, Laura, Ashley, Kent, and every single person I have interacted with, have helped make this experience a positive one. The staff is caring, dedicated, and professional in every way! I am confident Mom is safe and well taken care of in the next chapter of her life!

My mom has lived at Gateway Vista for over a year since dad passed away. She has said several times that she made the right choice because of the nurses, activities, the location, and she has made several friends. The fact that she can click a button and have a nurse is peace of mind for the family. But the best thing about Gateway is Bobby, the Assisted Living Director. He is approachable, sincere and truly listens to the residents. It was the best decision mom could have made.

My mother was in Gateway Vista in Lincoln, Ne for 3 years. It was very difficult for her to be moved from her home into an assisted living facility but with the help of the Gateway Vista staff they made the transition much easier. They were all so welcoming, professional, courteous, and just very kind to my mother, which helped reduce our worries and stress knowing she was in good hands. During her time at Gateway she found new friends both residents and also the staff. The team at Gateway has continued to deliver excellent service to my mother with her outpatient Physical therapy. I have lived at Gateway Vista for a year now. At first was a little hard getting use to . But now I enjoy living here. I feel safe and I know help is here if needed. They are wonderful problem solvers and the fact that we can have pets brought in to visit by family and staff members is wonderful! I’ve seen the care and commitment to the residents first hand. I would recommend to my family and friends to choose Gateway over any other facility. The clinical staff are knowledgeable and caring, the therapy team is passionate and motivated to get residents stronger, and the social workers will do whatever it takes to find appropriate placement and ensure safety is top priority when it’s time to discharge from rehab. I just completed my 3rd stay at Gateway Vista . This particular stay provided to my most challenging . I was faced with strengthening obstacles to achieve living in my own home setting. The Therapy offered was quite substantial and brought about needed strengthening achievement. The staff for the most part were very cordial and caring. One of my reservations was the use of Agency Aides. They proved less than adequate and apathetic toward carrying out the assigned duties. One aide even to the point of being rude and inconsiderate to families of patients. I brought this to the attention of appropriate staff and felt comfortable in how it was addressed. Over all the Gateway staff were caring ,, concerned and considerate ! The food is less than adequately heated and by the time patients get it , the food is less than appealing. Should I require this type of care , myself and family will not hesitate to seek services from Gateway Vista. I have spoken !

(for the record, I'm Bob not Lynn) My mom has lived @ GV over 4 1/2 years and the staff has continually offered her a comfortable, safe, reliable, friendly community -- Twice she has needed help on the short-stay rehab side; the 1st due to post-op surgery resulting from a fall, the 2nd due to a positive test for COVID. Her surgery was 4 years ago and she has fully healed (remarkable). Her COVID recovery went well, likely with help from the staff's periodic vaccinations/boosters that kept her antibodies at full capacity! To this day she denies she ever tested positive at all! That's my mom. It's hard to imagine her navigating the COVID years while still in her own home, which is another reason why her move has been a blessing from the start. Mom has never complained of feeling alone, and has loved the comradery she feels with all the residents. Each weekday I visit Mom, as I leave we check the afternoon social calendar and there's always an event in the auditorium or pub to enjoy more fellowship... yesterday was root beer floats, today it's Limericks and Laughs, last week I recall lemonade outdoors, which she loved. The staff is so accommodating that my sisters and I have been able to reserve the 6th floor penthouse occasionally for small family gatherings like birthdays, Easter, Christmas. I seriously could go on, but at the risk of overdoing it, I'll just offer a big THANK YOU to the entire staff, including cafeteria crew, nurses at all levels, all the great therapy people on the ground floor, the drivers (all aces), the admin staff, and all others who I'm sure I've just missed.

Gateway Vista had an Easter egg hunt for the kids of residents and employees on Good Friday. The event was well organized, and the kids were separated by age groups, allowing kids to find eggs with similar aged kids. Beautiful day for an Easter egg hunt, and the residents enjoyed watching the kids find eggs.

I came to Gateway Vista approximately 8yrs ago; originally admitted to rehab 2nd floor. (They worked really hard to get me stronger.) Eventually, I moved up to the 4th floor Long Term Care. I really enjoy living here! I have made a lot of friends, met amazing people (both residents and staff) and shared homemade crafts with my new friends. This facility has a lot to offer including a great therapy team. Every department goes the extra mile to see to our needs and care about us as people. Thank you Gateway Vista!

My parents are in Assisted Living at Gateway Vista and I so wish I could give a 5 star rating. With this said, the staff AT THE FACILITY are amazing and receive a 10 star from myself and my parents! The 3 star review is for the corporate office staff (the decision makers) as the roads leading into and around the facility are in need of MAJOR repair. It is now becoming a hazard and dangerous for anyone driving or walking on the roads. I pray that know one gets seriously hurt in order for corporate to make this a priority to fix. The food needs to be improved upon. I fell at the facility during a ice storm back in December due to the walk way not being treated, I had to receive medical attention (thankfully finding out I was not seriously hurt) I am still waiting for Corporate to address my fall and reimbursement for my medical bills, which our minor. NOW on a POSITIVE note, the staff at the facility is fantastic, so friendly and truly care for their residents making my parents and myself feel like family! A big shout out to Bobby Hall, the Assisted Living Director, for going above and beyond his work requirements. I want to Thank all the staff for taking care of my parents and allowing me to relax in knowing my parents are taken care of.

My Mother’s life completely changed for the better once she moved to Gateway Vista. Her health improved in part due to the dedicated staff who are always responsive to her needs. The staff communicates effectively and promptly with family members concerns. She first moved into her beautiful apartment as Independent Living status then needed to transition to Assisted Living status after a few years. Everything went seamlessly. My Mother is very happy living at Gateway Vista. They have a SNF that allows for an easy transition from the hospital. A shout out to Bobby Hall the Assisted Living Director who is just incredible in making sure my Mother is comfortable! I don’t know what I do without him. And to Kay Rakes in Finance who keeps me informed of any financial situation and helps with the necessary paperwork. I know my Mother is living safely at Gateway Vista! Thank You to everyone!

We picked Gateway Vista for my parents many years ago because of the ability for them to stay in one facility from independent living thru assisted living to skilled nursing and even rehab after a fall. The staff is so friendly and are like family to us. They took such good care of our dad through a lengthy illness and now our mom is in skilled nursing and we never have to worry about her needs being met. They have cared for our parents physically, mentally and emotionally and have celebrated the good times with us and helped us navigate through the tough times. The staff goes above and beyond to make this a home and provide a variety of activities to keep residents engaged. When issues have come up, they listened, made us feel heard and made adjustments when possible. They have consulted with us and involved us in all levels of care for our parents. Highly recommend Gateway Vista for any level of care!

My very dear friend calls this facility home and really loves the staff as family. They treat her with dignity and respond to her needs as soon as humanly possible. During the year of isolation due to Covid the Administrator stopped in every morning to greet her! I really think that saved her. I’m also responsible for scheduling Communion weekly for Catholic residents and Constance is great to work with for that. She genuinely cares about residents well being and happiness. Greeting you at the front door is Laura who keeps track of everyone and looks out for their best interest! Example- my friend complained she didn’t get any clothing catalogs so Laura personally called several companies to get her on their list. Like I said- just like family!!

- Schedule a tour and visit the physical location to make sure community description is accurate.
- Confirm with community manager that living and services required for you or your loved one's unique needs and budget are met.
- Check with state government websites for additional provider licensing and information.

Assisted Living Center uses the term "assisted living" or "personal care" to inform users that a community provides assistance with some Activities of Daily Living (ADL's). It may not meet your state's legal definition required for that level of care.
