My husband was at Windsor House for about a year and a half. My mistake was leaving him there. Dementia was new for me, and I didn't know what else to do. So many signs of staff and management uncaring hearts were present. Staff members raising their voices at the residents, so many of my husband's things missing. (Clothes, 7 caps, shoes, bed linen) I reported this to the manager and administrator. I was always told; we will get someone to check the laundry room. I kept taking more clothes and other necessities. I reported them to the state twice. The state really didn't do much. I believe because of my last complaint to the state; my husband was constantly accused of being too aggressive. For some reason, they said the meds weren't working. I believe, it was their way of getting rid of me. He was involuntarily discharged in September. He stayed in the Bertie E D for 40 days. No other facility wanted him because of what WH wrote in his chart. This was a blessing for us both. The staff in the E D treated him so well. He gained weight, they walked him and sat with him. He was bathed and smelled clean every day. The food trays were full & several snacks were included. My husband is a Minister & man of God. Whatever happened to him that wasn't right, God is in control. He is in a closer facility and so far, well taken care of. The staff is friendly and shows genuine compassion. My husband has gone from 151 lbs. to 162 lbs. He has only been there 1 month. I can't leave out the young lady that does the laundry. She washes each resident's clothes separately and hangs them on racks. WH lied about that service. The few clothes my husband had in his closet most of the time belonged to someone else. Thank you WH for being as you are. The facility he is at, shows me how someone like my husband; with a childlike mine, should be cared for. Not sure what I clicked on, but Windsor House get no stars from me.

Dear Windsor House Staff, I wanted to take a moment to express my sincerest gratitude for the exceptional care you provided to my grandmother during her stay at your facility. My grandmother had been dealing with dementia for some time, and it was becoming increasingly difficult for my family to provide the level of care she needed. We were fortunate enough to have found Windsor House, and from the moment she arrived, we knew that she was in the best hands possible. The staff was so sweet and accommodating, and their kindness and compassion went above and beyond anything we could have ever hoped for. You treated my grandmother with dignity and respect, ensuring that her final year on this earth was spent in comfort and happiness. The events and activities you hosted were simply incredible and made such a big impact on my grandmother's life. She always had a smile on her face when we spoke to her about the wonderful events you organized that kept her engaged and entertained. Again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, expertise, and unwavering support during what was a very difficult time for our family. You are all true heroes, and we will always be grateful for the love and care you provided to my grandmother throughout her stay and in her final moments.

I have nothing but praise for this facility. My dad moved here after being kicked out of another place because of his dementia. The staff was very supportive and caring. They accepted him and his issues and gave him a true home for his final days. I would recommend this facility to anyone who has dementia; they are trained and compassionate to the residents.
