My family members and I had a meeting last month with the new director and lead clinical RN about my mom’s medical care, hygiene, cleanliness of room and bathroom, laundry and bedding. We visit unannounced 2-3 times per week. Our concerns continue.

My wife and I had the pleasure to be part of the Brookdale community when recently she spent two-weeks in their care, which provided me a period of respite and chance to travel and visit with family and friends. Being a long-term, primary caregiver, I was extremely nervous about leaving her in a nursing facility. From the first contact, Brookdale's staff couldn't have been more personable, caring, and patient as we worked out the details. Their memory facility was a clean, cozy, active, and happy place. Throughout my wife's stay, Brookdale's family atmosphere engaged and enveloped my wife to the point where she was comfortable, content, and functioning at a high level. This allowed me to enjoy my time on my own. Of course, while giving us a break, absence made our hearts' grow fonder; now reunited, my wife and I are very much refreshed and enjoying each other's company. Because of the positive experience at Brookdale, periodically we plan to return for respite care in the years to come. Thank you, Brookdale staff.

Brookdale is a wonderful place for a loved one who is no longer able to take care of day to day responsibilities. It is a safe, family like setting with activities for everyone. The staff is top notch, giving excellent care.

So impressed with Brookdale. The entire staff is super friendly and very attentive. They take action and are so helpful to the seniors. The activities director is amazing, energetic and really engages each and every person on a personal level. Keeps them laughing. He stayed the whole day doing a wide variety of different things with the residents. If you ask me, I believe stuff like this makes a bigger difference than having top of the line immentites elsewhere.

It was a rough start but I truly believe this is the best place for my Mom. She told me she feels safe there. What a relief that is to hear. Content and safe is what I ask for her. They provide outings and activities for all their residents and my mother is actually enjoying them.

We are extremely pleased with every element that Brookdale offers: enthusiastic and expert caregivers, a beautiful layout with freedom to walk about and participate in numerous activities, good food, sometimes live music, a real sense of home away from home. And no old folks home smell, if you know what I mean. Grateful to these wonderful folks, not only for what they do everyday, but how they do it.
