Cadence of North Raleigh has gone above and beyond for my mother-in-law since moving in a month ago and it seems to be a great fit for her. From the moment I met Lucy, she made me feel comfortable in my decision. Lucy, Brandon and Andrea have been fabulous, attentive and caring along with all other staff, and I highly recommend!

Lucy Blakley and her team at Cadence North Raleigh are superb! My mother has received the quality care she requires. This Cadence facility provides a peaceful surrounding with a responsive level of service to their senior residents. They also make sure to communicate on a regular basis with family members regarding the status of our loved ones.

While researching to find an assisted living facility for my grandfather, I had the pleasure of speaking to Brian. I did confirm that the facility is not accepting Medicaid at this time, however, that didn't stop Brian from taking the time out to help me with my search for some more facilities in the area. I can't speak on the level of care for the residents, but if it is anything like the administrators in the office, I would feel safe knowing my loved one resides at Cadence because it was very apparent that Brian cares about helping others! Thanks Brian in helping me find care for my grandfather!

After doing extensive research and talking with numerous Memory Care Facilities, we made the decision to move my mom into Cadence North Raleigh. Our experience these past 6 months has been extremely positive. Lucy Blakley-Guzman made the entire process from our initial discussion throughout the move-in to be as seamless as possible. She helped us understand what to expect, and she was overwhelmingly kind and compassionate to my dad and myself. She has a true passion for this, and in one of the most heartbreaking situations, she brought some hope and comfort. The team at Cadence care about the patients, interact and engage with them constantly, and ensured they are cared for in ways that family members aren't skilled to provide. If you find yourself in the unfortunate situation of having to make the difficult decision to move your loved one into full-time care, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Cadence North Raleigh.

My mom moved into Cadence North Raleigh in March 2024. She is only been there for a little over a week, and she is already looking so much better than she was initially discharged from the hospital. All the staff have been doing an excellent job taking care of her and helping her with daily chores like using the bathroom, bathing, and dressing herself. They also do her laundry and make her bed for her. She has been treated with respect from everyone who works at that place. And she constantly praised about how delicious her meals are. I am very happy I made the decision to place her in Cadence North Raleigh. when I went tour the place initially and saw how happy their residents are, I had a good feeling about this place. And I was right about this. Big shout out Lucy, Andrea and Brandon and bus driver Stephanie (who goes out of the way to take her to her doctor's appointments) and everyone else who works there. I know taking care of seniors are not easy and I thank you very much for all of your hard work. I know there are a lot of assisted living communities to choose from, but from our own experience, Cadence Living is amongst one of the best ones in the Triangle area.

We moved our mother to Cadence from another facility and are glad we did. The staff is friendly almost to a fault and they treat the facility like it's their home and the residents like their own family. They have multiple daily activities that engage the residents and we get a report every day on what mom has attended. We visit as often as we can, but are secure in knowing that she is engaged, well fed, loved, and secure in her surroundings. We would certainly recommend Cadence for anyone seeking memory care.

We moved my dad in to Cadence after visiting seemingly every facility in Raleigh. My dad needed memory care and I loved that the memory care unit here feels like home in the same way that the rest of the facility feels. The building is one story and just feels happy and homey. The staff, though, are what truly makes Cadence special. From Lucy, in the front office who took us on our tour and continues to help us with anything we need, to Angie the incredibly caring director of memory care who will text pics and updates, and the rest of the Cadence staff... these people treat myself and, most importantly, my dad like family ❤.

Cadence North Raleigh is a great Senior Living Center with fantastic people! I am blessed with taking care of my Mother but noticed that I was not making much progress any longer in her attaining a higher level of health and mental state. We looked at all the facilities in Raleigh and decided that with the 5 Star Reviews and Increasing State Scores of Cadence North Raleigh this was a good possibility. We arrived this week and it has been a whirlwind of activity! There is so much to participate in for Mom and family is invited to be a part of everything. They have the Doctors On Call and Bayada Home Health and all other options show up and review Mom and their goals for Mom are fantastic! I have seen her become more excited about participating in life this week as a result of all the stimulation and care she is getting! I would highly recommend you visit this small, intimate, well staffed, comfortable and highly client focused place for your loved one to live before making your decision to go anywhere else!

We are so happy we were able to find a place like Cadence for my parents. From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed and everyone was so nice and helpful. Lucy and Dennis went above and beyond to make the moving in process as easy as possible. My parents have been there for a few weeks now and they look so happy and they love the residents, staff, and facility. The facility is comfortable, has a nice patio area with a beautiful backdrop of trees, has screened in porches and rocking chairs out front for the residents to enjoy. They have made new friends and the staff is very attentive and friendly. Thank you Cadence for giving my parents a new home.

After caring for our Mother for many years at home, it became necessary to find a facility to take care of her. Mom is 99 years old and blind from Macular degeneration.after touring many facilities in Raleigh, we chose Cadence. We were afraid our Mother would be lost in the larger facilities. Cadence is a smaller care facility, where we were sure Mom would get more attention. Everyone at Cadence is wonderful, the administration, and management staff , the wonderful care givers that take of Mom daily. We are very happy with every aspect of Cadence of North Raleigh.

Glad we found Cadence for memory care for my Aunt! Unfortunately it became time for my Aunt to go into assisted living after 2 years with live in help. Her dementia progressed very rapidly and when it was time it was time. We had a place picked out, 2 actually. When it came time to actually start with admittance one place completely failed, I am awestruck actually.... and the other just seemed lagging. If they don't seem to be able to efficiently take care of the small things then seems a good assumption they wont excel on the more difficult...care...and was not overly impressed with the actual centers either. Very frustrated and dismayed at how inefficient and underwhelming the facilities where especially for the monthly $ care costs we are looking at...then I was referred to call Cadence. Immediately the sun came out. Lucy was fantastic!!...she was who I was told to call.. Super nice, competent, efficient, got things expedited. Pricing is fair comparably and a much nicer facility then I was expecting....We are so happy we found it and thank full to the seemingly great staff. Especially Lucy and Dennis, I feel the place is in good managerial hands:) My Aunts level of care has improved. A better environment then in her place with a caregiver. I feel with out a doubt this memory care home is such an improvement then what can be provided at her home. For my Aunt socially, and mentally I believe it is leaps and bounds better for her. We are very happy to date. A good Chef and therapy as well:)

My mom is finally settled after trying other options for assisted living and memory care. Lucy, customer relations director, was very helpful and caring and has years of experience. Angie, the memory care director, is fabulous! She is very responsive, compassionate and has personalized my mom's care. Colleen, the lifestyle director, is super friendly, caring and approachable. I feel like my mom is finally getting good compassionate care. Thank you!

The Cadence facility is very nice; I liked that it is small because my grandmother received good attention from the caregivers. My grandmother lived there prior to her passing, and I liked the ranch-style building; also, her room was near a screened-in porch, and she did go out there to sit on a few nice days. The studio room that she lived in had a long hallway and foyer where we could place a chair and table with lamp, which made the entry to her room inviting; in addition, the walls were freshly painted, and the carpet was new. The bathroom is large and updated; the shower has a great seat in it, and it is a walk in. I only heard my grandmother complain about the food one time, which is a refreshing change considering that she did not like the food at the larger facility that she lived in before. This facility is a good place for your loved one if you are looking for a smaller setting that is affordable.

We initially chose to move our dad to Cadence because of the staff's professionalism, friendliness and the wonderful ambience of the community. From our first meeting with the business manager, Lucy we were drawn to Cadence. Now that dad is all moved in we have not been disappointed in any way. Having visited several other assisted living properties, Cadence stands above the rest because of their attention to detail, the wonderful staff, the delicious meals and particularly dad's spacious room. Staff members like Lucy, Portia, Parrisha, Aska, Anthony, Richard, and Tony just to name a few have been tremendously welcoming to not only our dad but to our entire family. Also an impromptu visit from Chef David to dad's room was certainly an added delight. Finding Cadence of North Raleigh was truly a blessing from above.

We moved my Dad to memory care at Carillon which is now operated by Cadence Living In May 2019. The Executive Director, Shawn Cothran, works tirelessly for the wellbeing of the residents and their families as well as the tremendously caring staff who work with him. My Dad has thrived since coming to live here. He is even using his walker most of the time instead of his wheel chair. He eats better and intakes more fluids than he did when at home and is also busy making friends with anyone with a friendly, smiling face that will chat with him. During this pandemic, Shawn and his team have done an outstanding job of protecting everyone from Covid-19. I am so grateful for all of the people that take care of my Dad and make sure he and the other residents are safe and well cared for especially now that we havent been able to go inside the facility since March. It has been hard not being with Dad but the new window visits that they have arranged are working very well and I always enjoy my window time with Dad and look forward to the day when we can go back inside and see not only Dad but also the staff and other residents that are part of our Cadence community. Like the review from Kayla below, I was more than disappointed to find out that Cadence would not honor the agreement we had with Carillon regarding the Medicaid bed after a minimum of 18 months of full pay once Dad qualified for it. That program was a major piece of our decision to place Dad at Carillon. While I am not happy they chose not to honor this, it is not a factor in my review of the care my Dad receives or my opinion of the facility and staff. Cadence is ideally located for our family and Shawn and his team have gone above and beyond to make Dads experience a safe and happy one.

My mom has been in the Memory Garden at Cadence for 2 years now. She is happy and gets great care. We moved mom and dad to Raleigh in the Fall of 2014. Due to their different health issues, we had them in 4 different facilities before finding Cadence. I can honestly say, I am so glad we found them. They treat mom with dignity, respect, and genuine concern. They laugh with her and have patience with her. During this Covid pandemic, I have not worried about mom and her care. I know she is well cared for. The workers have gone out of their way to keep mom safe, entertained, involved in activities, and her needs met. They have thought outside the box and kept the residents active. Every weekday during the pandemic we (the families) have received a group email with pictures and info into our loved ones lives. They have set up window and porch visits and Face time as Covid has allowed. They use Doctors Making House Calls so the doctors come to the facility, which is helpful since I work. Shawn (the executive director) is involve daily. He even began wearing a face mask way back in the the beginning, because He wanted to set the example for his workers. I, as a family member, have NEVER felt like I was intruding, interrupting , or that Ive asked a stupid question by any worker. My concerns have been addressed in a timely manner. Thank you Cadence for caring for my mom like she was yours and giving me peace knowing she is good hands.

I moved my disabled brother-in-law to Cadence in February 2020. I had spent several months looking for the right facility to provide assisted living for him. They have been especially attentive to the his special needs and personality. I highly recommend Cadence in North Raleigh for anyone needing personalized assisted care.

My father moved into Cadence Assisted Living (formally known as Carillon Assisted Living) after he had a major stroke in April of 2018. At the time we signed the initial agreement with Carillon, we knew he wouldnt have enough money to self-pay his way through for the remainder of his life. We knew his savings would only last for approximately 18 months. We spoke with Shawn, the Facility Administrator, and he assured us that if my dad paid out of pocket for the first 18 months, he would qualify for a Medicaid bed at the facility for the remainder of his life. Fast forward to approximately 18 months later, Carillon was purchased by another company named Cadence. And all of a sudden, we were getting phone calls from Shawn, the Facility Administrator saying that my Dad would no longer qualify for a Medicaid bed, because of a black-out period. He knew our family was in the process of applying for Medicaid which is a long and very lengthy process. He then told us my Dad had to move out of the facility and would never qualify for a Medicaid bed at this facility even after spending his entire life savings. We were upset, frustrated, and very hurt by this and needless to say, we felt very used and like a number by this bureaucratic organization. We were promised my Dad would qualify for a Medicaid bed and when he had spent his entire life savings…there was nothing they could do. Yea, right…. After my dad had finally gotten used to his new normal, developed relationships with nurse aides, and gotten used to navigating in his wheelchair around the facility, we had to break the news to him that he would have to move into a new forever home, with very little notice. The Medicaid process is very lengthy and complicated and finding an available Medicaid bed in the Raleigh area is very difficult. Almost all the facilities have 2 beds if any that are set aside for Medicaid patients and most of them have waiting lists. This took our family 3 months to complete this task which put us over the 18-month mark. My Dad was finally relocated to the new facility mid-March of 2020. Now, 2 months later, Cadence is sending collection letters and threatening to sue my family for $20,000 for the 3 ½ months it took our family to find a facility to accept him as a Medicaid patient. This facility took over $80,000 of our Dads life savings and then they kicked him to the curb in the blink of an eye. We put our trust and faith in this facility to take care of my Dad and they had no integrity or courtesy to take care of him even after they took his life savings. What an unethical organization! Buyer Beware….think twice and ask a lot of questions before you think of placing your loved one here and always get everything in writing if they make any promises as they certainly dont honor them!

My 93 yr old father has been at cadence about two weeks now after some time in the hospital and nursing home. What a great place! The people, including the Director, Marketing personnel, caretakers, nurses and cleaning staff are very polite, attentive, professional and genuinely care about the residents here. Have not seen an angry face yet, even on the residents. I dropped in unannounced one Saturday and was spending time with my dad in his room and in the first two hours at least three people stopped by to ask my dad if he was doing alright and was there anything they could do for him. Cadence is about 7 years old, caters to about 65 residents, and is kept in wonderful shape. The grounds are maintained. The building is quite and peaceful. They assist my dad with bathing, getting dressed and getting to the dining room if necessary. The rooms are clean, carpeted and furnished with dresser, night table ,bed and two wing back style chairs (at least in my dads room). Big bathroom with walk in shower and bench. You can bring your own furniture, TV etc., and just about anything else that would make the room more like home and even hang pictures. They provide 3 meals a day in the dining room which does look like a very nice restaurant. They seem to have a good selection of food to choose from. My dads first meal I ate with him was beef tips over rice, broccoli, fruit if you wanted and Peach Cobbler for dessert. It was very good. Plenty of ice tea and milk. Coffee was also offered. My dad has enjoyed the meals he has had so far. In closing, my mother and three brothers feel very happy we found Cadence for dad. If your looking for a place for that someone in your family that needs assistance in the golden years I believe this would fit the bill.

I currently serve as the Memory Care Director in our Revere neighborhood serving our amazing residents with Dementia, Alzheimers diease. My husband John has lived in this facility for slightly over four years. I would like to commend the leadership of Shawn Cothran and his staff for the outstanding and loving care that he has received. I always feel confident that he is in good hands even when I am not there. Johns needs ~ and mine ~ are always met in a timely manner. The policies set in place by Cadence Living are definitely set with the residents and their families in mind, from the food provided to the housekeeping and handyman services to the careful administering of medications. Put simply, this is the kind of place where I would be willing (should it become necessary) to spend my days.
