We had the pleasure of visiting Terra Bella to serve the wonderful residents some Mister Softee ice cream, and what an unforgettable day it was! From the moment we arrived, the staff welcomed us with such kindness and generosity. The residents were the sweetest customers, and watching them light up with excitement warmed our hearts. Everyone became a kid again that afternoon. There was something so special about seeing everyone gathered together, sharing smiles, laughter, and ice cream. Most of the staff are salesman or woman that draw you in with a focus on your primary needs and then skip what is needed in return, not informative they do not tell you everything that you should have or necessary steps regardless of qualifications and income. They will leave you on the sidelines if you do not complete things in their time frame but they notice you within 10 to 15 days of move in on the things that you need. If you voice your concern or opinion you will not hear from them ever again. That's the tip of the iceberg.

I recently transitioned my mother from SC to the Lake Norman facility and I wish I could give 10 instead of 5 stars for all the support and attention to detail TerraBella has provided these last few months. I have been in contact with Nicole Caruso over the past year. She always kept me up to date on site amenities and availability and never made it feel like anything other than getting help & support from a family member. Upon my mom's arrival she was welcomed by the staff and care attendants and introduced to more "friends" that have purposefully & intentionally helped her feel "at home". The professionalism of all the staff, the cleanliness and attention to detail by the maintenance team, and the overall supervision & management of the facility are noteworthy. My wife and I feel truly blessed that we have TerraBella to help us during this time with mom.

I transitioned my mom from a skilled nursing facility in another state into the memory care unit of TerraBella Lake Norman. I was very worried about the effects of the move on my mom. This facility could not have done a better job of making her feel at home here. The facility is amazing with so many wonderful activities run by Teresa that are personalized and geared for every stage that the residents are in. The entire staff works so hard to meet people where they are. The place is so clean and it feels like a neighborhood with all of the gathering places both inside and outside. I am thrilled to say that mom is thriving!

My sister moved to TerraBella Lake Norman in March of 2025 after deciding we needed to have her closer to us. She wasn’t thrilled to be leaving Atlanta, but the staff at TB did everything in their power to make for a smooth transition. She has had some medical issues which the staff were able to accommodate. The staff is friendly and genuinely care for her. She has made lots of friends and enjoys participating in activities. TerraBella has been a great choice for our family!

In searching for a home for my sister, Terabella outshined them all. From the front door and throughout. Nicole, the Director of Sales, guided me through everything I needed to know, even with how to have the conversation with my sister about her move. She loves her job and is very dedicated. There is an overall sense of joy and happiness at Terabella in employees and residents alike. The environment is not clinical or stuffy. Instead I found it bright and inviting. My sister is in her third month at Terabella and very happy. She participates in the many activities and rarely in her room. I like to join her in activities when I visit. The overall theme at Terabella is, the entire building and grounds is the resident’s home. The employees encourage this and are a part of making it a family instead of just their job. I am forever grateful.

My parents have lived here for a few years and their experience has been great. Every time I vist I appreciate the clean and welcoming social spaces and the welcoming staff. As my parents are aging up to a different level of care, I also appreciate how the staff have consulted with us and provided guidance to assist us. Everyone, from the maintenance staff to housekeeping, on up to office staff are friendly and professional. They know my parents and show genuine care.

Finding the "right" place for a love one can be very challenging and emotional for both you and your parent(s). I personally struggled with making this decision for my mom who has early onset of Alzheimer's. I tried caring for her myself for 3 years in my own home, but realized that I needed help and mom needed socialization. I visited 25 Senior Communities and chose TerraBella of Lake Norman when I met, Katie Kennerly, director of sales at TerraBella - Lake Norman. She was kind and compassionate from the moment I walked in. It was her soft spoken voice and kindness that made me feel like this was the place for mom. Upon completion of the tour, as I was about to leave, I witnessed a past resident's visit with staff and friends. The woman's happiness and reaction to seeing the staff and her friends sold me on this place. She was forced to move due to her daughter's relocation but asked to visit as her birthday present. A sales director's job is to "sale" you on the place, but a past resident's reaction to the staff and unsolicited happiness and pure joy during a visit spoke volumes to me. My mom has been living at TerraBella now for over 3 years. She loves all the staff and has made new friends. My mom is happy and safe. Seeing her thrive makes it all worth it for me and my family. I recommend this place for your love one.

Had a wonderful afternoon at TerraBella's Summer Block Party yesterday! The food was fantastic and all hands were on deck. The weather was great until it started to rain, but we were given our meal inside and enjoyed. There was no shortage of aides so that was good to see.

My last 4 months at TeraBella (TB) have been beyond my expectations and almost all of my needs are being met-socially and physically. My major source of grief at present is the loss of my wife who died last December. My son brought me to TB and that helped fill my void. The surroundings here are beautiful and well maintained. The Nursing Staff has been very helpful, and I have no complaints. I have been able to make many new friends. I know that nothing can replace my life partner. today I want to give salute to the Activity Committee of TerraBella Lake Norman Mooresville NC. The Committee led by Jari, assisted by Jennifer and Vivian. This unique committee works to give an enjoyable day for all residents. My husband and I are amazed at the work this committee does. They provide grocery shopping, an opportunity to go off site for a Ball Game, nice resturant,play games on site, hear local musicians perform, work with local civic individuals to promote the USA HOLIDAYS EX. FOURTH OF JULY AND OTHER HOLIDAYS, PROMOTE FAMILY TOGETHERNESS EX. SUMMER BLOCK PARTY, MOTHERS DAY, FATHERS DAY, ALL OF THIS AND MORE IN BEAUTIIFUL DECORATIONS AND EXCELLENT FOOD AND SHARING FAVORS WITH ALL. Beautiful place. Lots of activities. Food is not good at all. Food is cold and undercooked. Undercooked food can be extremely dangerous for this age group. They don't do a thing about it. Someone fell and clicked their life alert and noboby came. A neighbor had to report it. Today they ran out of food. They couldn't serve everyone. The ice cream they serve is fake and a cup full of chemicals. Update... It seems that they just don't pay anybody enough to to want to stay there to be a cook. They leave about every 3 to 6 months. The food has gotten worse they run out of food all the time it takes an hour for people to get served things are cold they don't have what it says they have on the menu it's just horrible and keeps getting worse. They had grapes and cottage cheese for dinner tonight because that's all they had left if . It's just horrible.

I came here with my wife into assisted-living because she had Parkinson’s for over 22 years. She was here 19 days and passed away now I’m an independent living. I enjoy the place have a lot of fun a lot of friends. I try to get involved in many things. I try to help people if they need it I believe I’m appreciated for what I do and I enjoy it. Sometimes the meals are not as good as I would desire, but there’s always a side menu you can order from All in all, I would recommend this place to anybody who was looking for assisted or independent living

My mother has been a resident at Terra Bella for over a year. She has made many friends and feels at home there. She looks forward everyday to the many daily activities they provide like bingo, corn hole, ice cream socials and even Happy Hour and then musical performances and great movies at night. The staff are very caring and love to take care of her and all the residents. I highly recommend this place .

Our family can’t say enough good things about TerraBella!! After our Mom passed away, Dad was just sitting in his chair, not interacting with neighbors or doing anything around the house. Once he started falling at home, we, as a family, knew that Dad needed something more & we found TerraBella. For the first 2 weeks, Dad refused to leave his room but everyone at TerraBella kept encouraging him to join in some activities. Well after those 2 weeks of adjustment (which they had told us about) Dad was gonegone from his room participating in the activities. He has so many friends now that he talks with & different programs that he loves that we can’t find him when we go to visit. We check their calendar to see what activity he may be at. So our family as well as Dad couldn’t be happier with the decision to go to TerraBella.

The food is AWFUL!!! How can you charge people for that food?! More than half of them order out and yet still have to pay for YOUR food while living there. Shame on you people, can’t you find a Real cook for the amount of money that you charge people to live there? These are the elderly, not the discardable! They’re not on their way out. They’re just trying to enjoy their lives the best they can with what they have going on. (Just remember that those that have deemed this food edible, will be there someday too) It’s the seniors nutrition and if they’re not eating it because it’s so horrible in flavor, you’re not doing the many favors, but you are charging them!! IMPROVE YOUR FLAVOR AND QUALITY OF YOUR FOOD-IMMEDIATELY MOST OF THEIR MEALS TASTE SO BAD that this could be recognized as abuse/negligence to seniors, because More times than not, they would rather skip the meal, than eat it! THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE! These Seniors depend on your care! **I do NOT advise anybody take their parent or loved one here-because if they don’t care about our loved ones nutrition that obviously there’s other things as they don’t care about either!! Just look at Carol Giangolas post! There are Plenty of people to attest to this!

My sister's and I moved my parents into TerraBella Lake Norman last June, after a horrible 5 months stay in another senior living facility. We and our parents have been so happy with TBLN!! Our parents med management is our biggest concern. TBLN has been on it since one! Their apartment is kept clean, garbage emptied, clothes and linens returned and very attentive and positive staff. TBLN absolutely deserves 5 stars!!

She was so great in assessing my mother’s needs and imparted such wonderful advice”even suggesting other facilities that would be better suited for my mother’s very independent status at this time. TerraBella Lake Norman is by far the nicest senior care community in the Mooresville area. It is well run, and has a excellent reputation for the quality of care they provide their residents. Its large layout allows for a variety of different activities for the residents. It is the only area community that you truly can age in place, as it has independent living, assisted living, and memory care.

The staff at Terrabella Lake Norman is outstanding. Everyone not only knows my parent by name, but they've gotten to know them. All of the staff works tirelessly to try to keep residents out of their apartments and interacting with others. My parent's health has improved since moving there. Our family is so grateful for the caregivers who manage the medications that helped them improve. It was more than we could manage. My parent is content, I'm relaxed, and we've all been able to just enjoy time with our family member again. Terrabella has made life easier for me, and most importantly, my parent. There may be newer,shinier facilities in the area, but since our family's journey into this stage of life has started, we know staff is the most important thing when it comes to our loved one's happiness.

The staff at Terra Bella is very helpful and knowledgeable. While visiting, I noticed a resident on oxygen who was about to appply Vaseline to her nostrils, and the med tech pointed out that only water based lubricants should be used to avoid a spark/explosion. This high level of skill and experience is what I would want in an assisted living community.

I have a relative staying here now, and when she came for dinner recently, she spoke about how they would not allow visitors and they themselves are not allowed to walk the hallways to get exercise or go outside their rooms during the day. Then she almost broke down into tears. This is a woman who has no health issues and until she moved into this facility, had a very healthy, active life. She now looks very depressed, and said she feels worse than she ever has in her life. She is allowed no visitors, per what she has been told by staff and they force strict guidelines on when they can and cannot be in their rooms. She was actually panic stricken when she realized she was running late to make it back to her room before curfew. This is not the same wonderfully happy woman I’ve known for over 20 years. I feel that if you are looking at placing a family member here, go through their guidelines with a fine tooth comb. This appears to look like an active lifestyle community but treats the people that live there and pay the salaries of these staff members an exorbitant amount of money to do so, like a nursing home for family members to come and die.

My mother has been at this facility for almost one year. Pre Covid there were a lot of activities going on. Since Covid, they have understandably scaled back. The activity staff has been creative. Bingo via conference call-in, ice cream sundae via cart stops at every room, delivered cocktail hour, distance dance classes, daily joke sheets, assistance with family video and conference calls, and continuous visits from aides. They even conduct exercises from the hallway, with each resident in their doorway. Meals during lockdown were limited, as we all know how food supplies were scarse. Now the residents are able to move about the building, inside and out. Distance eating in the dining hall is offered, orderly, by hallway per week. That gives everyone an opportunity to enjoy eating with their friends again, if they choose. Atria staff was able to keep their facility, staff, and residents 100% Covid free. Look around at other facilitates, and their Covid records, THEN come here. They are Covid cautious in every way. In my book, my mom's health, happiness and safety are more important than anything else. Yes, they have rules, and they are very good at keeping an orderly house. The aides and staff have all been very helpful, accommodating and friendly. All are great - from the receptionists (faxing), kitchen staff(carrot cake!), doting aides who keep mom laughing, eager to help maintainance men, and the friendly, hard working office staff. Thank you, all of Atria, for everything you've done and continue to do for us!

They can't get the kitchen right. Food shortages, poor quality meats, limited menu selections, and slow food service are everyday occurrences. The staff is kind, the facility is clean and well kept, but the food situation is deplorable. Brookdale is a giant and very profitable corporation. Why then, can't they serve good food to people whose mealtime may be the highlight of their day?

Emeritus at Churchill provides top notch professional care to the seniors of the Lake Norman area. Their beautiful, bright facility is always full of life! The staff care for their residents as if they were their own family. Transitioning to an assisted living can be difficult on the resident and the family. The staff of Emeritus at Churchill do a wonderful job of assisting families with this transition and helping residents feel at home.
