My mother is at Brookdale Durham. We really want to love this facility and have tried to resolve the issues as I understand that staffing has been a challenge since COVID. The biggest challenge is that her room is very rarely cleaned, sheets are not changed, laundry not done and she is not bathed regularly. When I visit (weekly), I have to clean the room, etc. This could be a lovely facility if they had a housekeeping manager or some type of system in place that checked the rooms regularly, spoke to family, followed up on complaints, etc.

This is a wonderful community. My mother has been so happy since moving in. Everyone there has been so kind and caring. There are always activities going on with plenty to do. I highly, highly recommend!

I have gone to the Brookdale Center on a few occasions in representation for the Durham Center for Senior Life. On each visit I was greeted with respect and courtesy. The staff is wonderful and Ms. Stone is always knowledgeable and helpful when I have questions.

Brookdale Durham has provided care for my mom for almost 9 years! The dedicated caring staff treats her as family. The food, activities offered, maintenance, and the care received are awesome! The front desk staff is also always very helpful. It is very convenient to have Doctors Making House Calls and Home Health offered at the facility!

I toured Brookdale Durham looking for potential assisted living facilities for a family member. Juliette was very helpful and caring in helping me understand what this facility has to offer. The location is very convenient for doctor's offices and shopping and in a beautiful setting.

Juliette and all staff were warm and welcoming on our tour. We were fortunate to visit during the Halloween party which meant we also saw many of the residents and had a good conversation with one when we stopped by the library. Potential residents should give Brookdale Durham a look, and ask for Juliette, she's a treasure.

I have been to Brookdale Durham many times with prospects. Each time the staff is welcoming and engaging. Juliette is a ray of sunshine. Whether she is giving a tour or just walking down the hall, she addresses each resident by name, often stopping to have a quick conversation. The residents & staff love her.

This place was not bad. The 1 bedroom units were laid out well and they are doing renovations on them. The building is older, but not run down. Big dining room, section of town not bad. A little pricey, but not out of the running. One hallway smelled a little of urine, perhaps temporary. Only 2 small elevators, could be a concern with mobility.

While my loved one was here everything was great. The staff is incredibly kind, they are very attentive, and there was not one moment where there was something that needed to be done and it wasnt done. My loved one would tell me that she loves them as well. After some time my loved one was moved into hospice care and had to relocate. Unfortunately she had passed away now. When I called and spoke to the director here and told them about that they were telling me how much they loved her and everything. I believe that was a great experience and it shows me how much they paid attention to her. The facility itself was very clean. It was so clean yet it didnt have that institutional clean smell. There are no complaints there with their cleanliness. All in all I would recommend this location to other families as well.

I chose this facility because of the location. It was very convenient for me to be able to visit my Mother. When I started my search for places last year, the administrator and his assistant made arrangements for my family and I to take a tour at 9 p.m. This was the only facility that was even willing to accommodate our needs. [Removed], that administrator, worked really hard and diligently to get my mom a respite bed within 4 hours. The staff members were all professional, positive, and considerate. They really understand the population that they serve. I would recommend this facility.
