I enjoyed my tour of Bartlett Reserve in Durham, NC. Everyone I met was so friendly and kind. Bartlett has some great amenities: a heated pool, dog park, quiet courtyard area, outside dining area in the courtyard, laundry facilities on each floor. An added perk, they serve food all day long! We moved here in April 2025. We feel safe, well feed and enjoy many activities in our community. We do what we want, when we want. We love that we are a small community, much better than living in a big institution.. There are 100 apartments here. We have a lovely pool and grounds. We highly recommend Bartlett Reserve.

I recently visited Bartlett Reserve and was blown away by not only the apartments, which are spacious and beautiful, but the amenities offered! The grounds are beautiful and I loved the pool! I was able to eat lunch and it was restaurant quality. As I was leaving they were setting up for live entertainment. Absolutely worth the visit.

Went to visit my Aunt. It was a clean place. Ladies bathroom on 1st floor was out of toilet paper and when I told the guy at the front desk he stated someone was coming. The lady was right on it. Looks like and sound like my Aunt is well taken care of. For that I'm forever grateful.

My aunt and uncle have been here since 2019. My aunt passed this spring, and the Bartlett staff were amazing. They offered counseling, helped him go through her belongings, and then helped him move to a smaller apartment, even hanging his pictures and organizing his papers. Thanks to their kindness and respect, he is getting out more, participating in activities, has lost a lot of weight by being more active and eating in the Cafe. At 93, he is doing much better than he has in the last several years.

Moved my parents 2021 from their home and it’s been a wonderful transition”their apartment and grounds are welcoming, and a beautiful garden that our pups can visit and enjoy. Meals open 7-7 so not restrictive, supportive staff and so much available. Best decision I’ve made

My 88 year old mom has lived at Barlett Reserve for the past 10 months and has really enjoyed it! We can’t say enough about the caring staff, the residents, the activity, and the folks at Legacy who have made her stronger than when she went in there! Shae Medical for caring for her medical needs (she has portable Oxygen)have been very responsive when she has had needed them. Sean and Steve for looking after her administratively. We would love to stay, but she must move w me to a new state due to a new job. If you are looking for a caring, comfortable place for your parent you should check out Bartlett Reserve.

Bartlett Reserve is a clean facility with courteous and caring staff. Apartments are updated and there is a large multipurpose room with plenty of daily activities for residents. There is also a well equipped gym and beautiful dining area.

I’ve been in the Durham area for 12 years and have seen a lot of retirement communities come and go. But one that started up relatively recently and has developed a reputation for care for its residents, as well as providing them in the upscale, livable arrangement, is Bartlett Reserve. Recently renovated and refreshed for 2020, Are the reserve would be among the first places I look for when I would have a family member in need of a comprehensive independent living arrangement. In my line of work, I have several clients who want to simplify, and reduce the hassles that come with day to day living, including property maintenance, Social activities, and all the other things that you take for granted in your youth. I’m continually impressed by Bartlett Reserve’s management knowledge of this vital need and regularly reinventing its value proposition to make itself a premier independent living community in Durham. Well worth considering when the time is right for you.

As a professional healthcare worker, during the several months of Covid-19 its been extremely hard for everyone especially on the elderly. At Bartlett the staff are during everything that is healthcare required to maintain the safety of the residents, staff and visitors. The staff is very humble and polite upon entering an throughout the area of the building. Great place to live for your love one.

This community was a pleasant surprise. I went in for a tour and did not have any real expectations, the building itself is fairly nondescript. The inside was the real surprise, it was light, airy, and welcoming. it did not look at all like a senior living community. It was more like a condo or apartment, but with shared spaces. I am a big fan of the cozy reading nooks scattered around and loved the great theatre room. I saw 2 different apartments and both we nice, not huge but a nice manageable size for my mom. The hallways reminded me of a nicer hotel. It seems like it may have been recently redone- everything seemed fresh.The huge courtyard brought really brought the outdoors inside.

Bartlett Reserve has been a wonderful place for my mom, who was there for five years. Friendly and caring staff, consistently excellent food, a full and diverse array of activities, and a happy place to be. Although Bartlett is an independent living facility, it provided a strong support system through the pandemic while keeping residents safe. A truly exceptional place!

As a healthcare professional in Senior Care, I am often asked my opinion about placement options for loved ones. Bartlett is at the top of my list for referrals. The staff are personable and caring. Administration has the best interest of the residents at the top of their priority list. They have an outdoor pool for recreation and classes. I find that their biggest selling point is the opportunity for residents to eat when they want to eat. They do not have to wait for the dining room to be open at certain times. I would not hesitate to place a loved one at Bartlett and that is the biggest compliment I could ever hand out.

My parents have lived at Bartlett three years this May. Everyone has been so friendly and thoughtful. Although my Daddy is 96 1/2 years old and unable to participate in many activities, he is content and thankful to live here because of caring staff. My sweet Moma feels safe and happy to be independent. Bartlett is cozy! We all are thankful we’ve been able to honor their request to age in place’. A perfect fit for them!

For almost a year, my mother-in-law has been a resident at Bartlett. I am consistently impressed with the management and staff and their desire to provide a nurturing and stimulating environment in this independent living community. Much attention is spent on the food, activities, physical environment, and all the elements that are most important to the residents and their satisfaction. For example, outside activities are plentiful and every holiday is celebrated with special meals, decorations and entertainment. I have found that management's door is always open in a sincere effort to make this a top senior community and resident views/preferences are sought out and accommodated when possible. I recognize that there are many people behind the scenes making Bartlett the success that it is, but I have to single out Dottie and Butch for going way beyond to make the residents feel at home and truly cared for, like family.

This is a great retirement community. The people are great and they always have things to do. There's an out door heated pool, a garden that you can have a spot for personal gardening and outdoor activities such as putting hole for the golferand bochie ball. They're in the middle of renovations and it will be even better after. They have a hairdresser on site, exercise room, rehabilitation program and a nice craft room. There's a book club, kitting club and others. They have groups come in for intertament. They have bus trips and more. The biggest problem is the food. They seem to have trouble getting a chef that knows how to plan and prepare for the age group. Their meals are used over and over again. Example: every Monday it's the same as the previous Monday and on and on. Once they get the right person in the kitchen there will be no problems with the place.
