Worked here on and off for four years while in college. It was very hard work and I pushed myself while I was employed. The staff did their best to accomodate people's needs despie bring understaffed. This place is absolutely over the top around Christmas and never misses a holiday. Worked at other care facilities and Christmas here genuinely is a sight to see, especially compared. Holidays are especially depressing for facility residents. They genuinely make it special for them - tons of gifts, an event everyday of December. I about ran myself to death every Christmas keeping pace - but enjoyed it.

The compassion and care these folks provide to those who fall between the cracks financially is remarkable. They work with those who draw too much for Medicaid but are unable to pay $7K or $11K for a bed at corporate facilities.

Do not put your love ones here!!! One smell of the place and you know exactly what is going on. It is dirty and they are not nice to the residents. Family owned and neglected. The food is horrible. Please do your research. This place is not fit for a dog.

Please take your loved one some place else. This facility is now a private facility and they have no money. They are greatly understaffed all the time and the staff is constantly complaining about it. My mom fell and it took them 7 hours to call me and tell me. They said it was the first time they had to call. The food is horrible and no one there is smiling. They put laxative in the eggs that gives everyone diarrhea. The new admin will lie to you as fast as he can to save his behind. Do not trust these people with your loved one. It is not a place you want your family member to endure. The nurse only comes once a week and she is horrible. Do your research!!

Maddy is an excellent administrator of Lakewood. She is kind, patient, knowledgeable, and professional. Lakewood is an assisted living center where residents are cared for with compassion and respect.I can not recommend them highly enough!

They will steal your money!!!! They will yell at your loved one. They will olet them sit in chairs for hours. They are understaffed and the owners are evil people. Do not let your loved ones go here!!

These people are the absolute worst! The nurses yell at you. They feed you bologna sandwiches. No JOKE! They hold your meds....I could go on about all the horrible things this place does to people. DO NOT go here! Just go some place else.

The food is horrendous!!! They add stuff to the food to make you poop. They do not give you your meds on time or at all. The nurses yell at you. They change the rules every 5 mins and the place is SOOOOOO dirty!!!!!!

Wow...If you look at these reviews on their site VS the reviews on Yelp or google you will see a vast contrast. This site has 5 stars and all other reviews on the web has 1 star. As yourself, who is doing these reviews for their site?? Are they removing the bad reviews to make themselves look better??? Do your Research! This place kills people Literally. Recently a resident died due to lack of medical attention form the staff. For weeks she reeled in pain and told to toughen up. Once at the hospital, within days, she died. Pay attention people these places are getting funding from the government and they do not care about you or your loved ones. We must speak up. We must report these atrocities. Silent no longer! I am sure they will reply to this review with a very Sothern "I am so sorry you had a bad experience" BS. People, we need to look through the rhetoric. Do not place your love ones here. Their life depends on it.

As the person responsible for my brother living at Lakewood Care Center I have been very impressed with the staff. They sincerely care about each and every person there, they are friendly, helpful and go above and beyond for every person. After having been at other facilities, my brother is happier at Lakewood than any other place. They come up with activities all of the time which keep the residents engaged. It is not the Ritz but to me having such a wonderful staff is more important.

Been here almost 2 years and love it! Good Med Techs and PCAS! We are treated like family and we do a lot of fun activities each month! The office staff are simply AMAZING here! If youre looking for an Assisted Living Facility then call 704-483-7000! Youll be glad you did!!

They do take good care of the residents. However I was not happy when my husband came home and stated that he had been hit on by some the aides there. One actually gave him a note asking for his number, and it stated what she'd like to do with him, another one told him he should take her with him on a trip. That's being unprofessional. And it was NOT appreciated.

Everything has worked out pretty well for us here at this community. My mother is being cared for well, I know she is in good hands here. They have a good staff here, they are helpful and courteous. The community looks nice and well-kept. The meals are well balanced. Overall my mother is doing well here and I would recommend it.

Overall we are pleased with our experience at Lakewood Care Center. It's a nice looking place, the staff is friendly and attentive, and they do a good job looking out for the residents. My one complaint would be that communication with families could be improved. It seems like they could add a few people to their staff to improve response times.
