My aunt moved into her new residence two months ago, and the renovations have been wonderful, providing easy access for her at 80 years old. While she is still independent, she has difficulty biting food; fortunately, the dining options are great and offer a variety of flavors daily, including breakfast, steak (soft and small bites), pies, and steamed vegetables ... The facility is also expanding its amenities, with a bar opening soon in the lobby for all guests. This will be a lovely addition for our family get-togethers on the weekends.

My mother lives in this facility, and the so called chef created meals are disgusting. The food selection is nonexistent, and poor quality. Regardless of the amount of complaints, nothing has been done to improve the situation. Prices have increased this year 8%. I’m appalled at how this company is taking advantage of our seniors.

Brookdale Carriage Club, in Charlotte, NC, is a wonderful, caring, and comfortable home for seniors. It has a caring staff, comfortable apartments and buildings, plus a beautiful pastoral setting with gorgeous trees, cared for lawns, and a breathtaking pond! We have many enjoyable social opportunities and most residents are friendly and outgoing. The continuing care setting gives us a wonderful feeling of security that our needs will be met, ongoing. I feel so blessed to live here.

Waited outside for 15 minutes, to get in..ringing the bell and calling. No answer! Finally had to pull on the door to set the alarm off to get someone to come to the door to let us in. Ridiculous! All the money they charge they can afford to have a better system in place!

I am so happy to be here at Brookdale Carriage Club. It's filled with nice residents and staff, and definitely feels like home to me. The natural setting of this place is so beautiful and there are numerous helpful people here. I feel so fortunate that I could make a transition to this wonderful place in my senior years!

Recently moved my father into independent living and it has not been a great transition. The room is good, although wasn't completely cleaned out from the renovations. We had asked for the fridge door to be changed to swing from the other side to accommodate his wheelchair. It wasn't. We were told his TV could be mounted by maintenance. That was incorrect - we had to do it. However, he seemed happy and has enjoyed the place so far. The problem is the alignment of what was sold to us about his care and what has been delivered. We were told he could get daily nursing checks (that we pay for) to ensure he takes his medications. That's fine, and we signed up for that the day he moved in. It's been 6 days and they haven't done that yet. Really hope he's taking his meds, but who knows. We were also told he could see their contracted doctor when he moved in. Well, she just refused to see him and told us to take him to urgent care. Please note, she didn't do an evaluation before denying care. She just refused to see him based on what was reported by nursing, and took that without any other context or conversation with him or family. I've worked in healthcare a long time - never once have seen this. It's neglect, and nobody at Brookdale is making any efforts to resolve this. I'm sorry, but if we're paying $50k a year somebody should be showing some level of care for an elderly man who just moved in and is getting settled. I really hope I can change this review one day, but right now I have to deal with making sure my father is safe.

We absolutely love the team here in the assisted living building at Brookdale Carriage Club. A family member described the team as one sets the bar high and then the next, even higher. The majority have been so caring, nurturing, thoughtful and sweet with my grandpa here. He has had nothing but nice things to say. Having the assistance where needed combined with all of the activities, gives him independence, enjoyment and fulfilment. Very grateful.

I came here when I could no longer drive. I looked at over a dozen similar communities - the first one I chose was a mistake. After a year and a half, I moved To Brookdale Carriage Club Providence. Good move; I wish I had chosen BCC first. There are improvements I would like to see, but the major issues I see are due to Covid impact on this community and the resulting economic restrictions. Otherwise I would give 5 stars.

My mother spent 22days here after a broken wrist and hip; I was a complete mess! I never expected anything like this to happen so my level of preparation and acceptance was zero. I just wanted to talk up the community and how happy I was about her recovery, but the one person that made this entire situation bearable is being bashed in other posts. Sarah the administration held me while I cried and sat with me for almost an hr as I tried to figure out what do we do from here. She gave me her direct number and told me if I ever needed to talk that she was there for me. What’s even more interesting is I did report to Sarah only once that I noticed one of the CNAs weren’t responding to my moms call for help while talking in the hallway to another employee is the same one that came here to bash the administrator. What I don’t think is correct is to retaliate your wrong doings to someone that is so loving and caring because you are angry about your reprimand. If this is what a care giver goes to their supervisor being mad, I’m happy that Sarah was there to make sure you didn’t also try and take any more of your anger out on the patients SHAME ON YOU! From what I’ve seen she runs a tight ship and expects nothing but excellent service and care for the people there. If any worker there can’t handle it then please leave. Sometimes you have to burn the weeds to save the harvest.

My Mom is not able to communicate much due to Alzheimer's....how many hours must go by before she is changed!? It's been 8+today something is very off. 4-6 isn't acceptable either.

I called four times today trying to reach assisted living and no one answered. I waited 40 minutes and called again only to have switchboard say that they might not answer due to the approaching lunch hour. She was right, they did not answer. I called again and asked to speak with the director of Brookdale. I was told by switchboard that the director was not in her office and I could leave a message. The switchboard did not offer to page the director even though the switchboard operator recognized that I had called 5 times previously. I finally resigned myself to the fact that I could speak with no one at Brookdale. I hope my family member is OK.

When it came time, we toured every facility in Charlotte. We arrived at Brookdale Carraige Club on a Friday afternoon. All of the residents were gathering for Happy Hour. My mom said, “this is it. I can live here.” She moved in and got very involved in the community. She filled her days with all the activities and made lots of new friends. She was stimulated...her life was full. She was happy. Over 6 years, her health declined and caregiving became critical. It was great that she could stay within the community for all levels of care. The staff was incredible. She loved them and they loved her right back. My mom passed last week and Carraige Club employees streamed through to say goodbye and tell us how she had touched their lives. I cannot express what those personal relationships meant to all of us. The best decision we ever made was Brookdale Carraige Club. Mom was very happy and had a great end of life experience. She always told us she was the luckiest woman in the world. What more could a daughter want?

My Grandmother has spent years here and stayed in a few different phases.. independent, assisted, skilled nursing, dimentia units. The care is top notch. She always says the food is great, the staff is wonderful. So very grateful she has a place like this to live her final years. She's very happy there.
