Marjorie McCune Memorial Center meal plans that are prepared with fresh ingredients daily from specially designed menus. We also offer snacks between meal times. Private dining, family style, cookouts, picnics are all available for every style of meal that could be desired. We can accommodate for nearly every type of diet.

I have never met a kinder, more caring group of people anywhere. Owned by the Lions of Western North Carolina and loved by the residents, families and staff. The food is remarkable, exceptional activities and events daily and loving, professional nursing staff. I am blessed to have worked here.

My son George has been a resident for almost 10 years. He has been treated with loving compassion and respectfulness by all the staff. The staff is very encouraging in helping George cope with his ongoing medical problems. They strive to make George feel like he is part of a family and help h8m to contribute. I have had experiences in the past with other assisted living and skilled nursing facilities as part of my duties when I worked. I have always been impressed with the professionalism and caring of all the staff. I would highly recommend this facility as either a workplace or for placement of a loved one.

My son who is blind has lived here for 7 years. I cannot say enough about the staff and the facility. They provide a real community with lots of activities, wonderful meals, and true concern for the health and happiness of all. I thank God every day for the wonderful home they have provided.

Ive worked here for 8 years & cannot imagine being anywhere else. The level of compassion & all around care that we give our residents is exceptional. I would recommend anyone to work here, live here or place their loved one here. Its the best in WNC for sure.

I've worked at the McCune Center for fourteen years. I'm proud to be a part of what they accomplish. The residents are active and involved. The staff cares and goes above and beyond. But I've never been prouder than the care and support I'm seeing being given during the COVID-19 threat. Great Job McCune!!

Went with my wife to check this place out a few days ago. We were considering having her mom stay here, but not anymore. The staff that we met were very rude to us. There was only one that acted like they even cared that we were even there and she was too busy to give us the attention that we requested. The hallways were pretty nasty and smelled horrible like someone had messed themselves and hadn't been changed for several hours. Buzzers were going off on all the halls and we only saw two nurses doing anything. One was in the hall counting meds and the other was sitting in the nurse office. The library was dirty with empty cups and plates sitting on the tables. The chapel was also pretty disgusting. Elderly people were roaming the halls like zombies, most acting like they had no idea where they even were. Several were outside under the carport smoking with no supervision at all. There was a grocery truck parked outside and a guy was dropping off stuff when we left. He took up the entire area and made it very difficult for us to get out. It only took me five minutes to decide that this place is not where I would want my mother-in-law staying. Assisted living my butt. It's just another glorified nursing home that is squeezing the life out of these poor elderly people's social security checks. Stay away from this place at all cost.

Don't believe what you read, nor what you hear about this establishment. The majority of their reviews come from current staff members. This place is managed by a cesspool of liars, manipulators, backstabbers, gossipers, and the worst! Any establishment that is going to fire someone with no just cause and no warnings is a place that I would never wish to be affiliated with. Steer clear of this place and most importantly, don't allow your family members to stay here!

The community is inviting and friendly. The staff is always interactive with the residents. Great care and outings. The residents have an extra bonus; opportunity for club memberships for a sense of belonging! Considering this is a non profit organization, the Marjorie McCune Community is able to offer the residents additional support anytime it is needed. A place that truly cares for people!!
