I am leaving one star because I can’t leave a zero star. We moved our mother into this facility on a Friday afternoon. Before Sunday she was in the hospital icu with head trauma and passed away a week later from the injury.

As a new employee of brookdale asheboro, I have seen nothing but amazing care being provided to each resident! Everyone is so friendly, passionate, and truly shows that they are here because they want to be, not because they need to be! it’s a place that I now call home!

So far so good with my mom's move to Brookdale Asheboro. It is a clean and well-kept community. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. They are very welcoming to our family members when we come to visit. The staff is very friendly and attentive to my mom's care needs. For the most part, the staff is easy to communicate any questions or concerns regarding my mom's needs. I do wish they could coax her to get up and eat breakfast, but she seems to be getting the nutrition she needs. I have dined with mom on several occasions and the food is good with variety and good choices. The atmosphere is very warm and inviting, and very clean. They do encourage her to participate in the activities provided but she has never been one to engage in activities. They have a sign-up sheet for off-site excursions like going to the apple orchard and shopping trips. She has been out to the front to sit in the rocking chairs and socialize with the other residents. We are very pleased when she lets us know herself that she likes it at Brookdale Asheboro.

Overall the food is I enjoy 90% of the meals I eat here the soups are excellent. The breakfast is usually pretty good there is plenty of coffee which is what I care about.

Main complaint is food...too much of same type of foods (too much chicken and fish), food cold or barely warm, over cooked or not done and selection of deserts are all very poor quality. Need large coffee maker for dining room.This place should have a generator for when power is out.The building needs an over hang at entrance for residents coming and going.
