They don't seem to understand dementia. All the materials I've read about them compared to what I've seen is totally different. If your loved one is still active don't send them here. Everything she has done is normal for dementia and they keep sending our loved one to the ER for evaluation. What she has dementia that is her diagnosis. Plus if you talk to staff they seem to rarely the message. She sits in her room all day, they don't get her out for walks or encourage her to get up. It breaks my heart. Today she was out more and happy though!

I chose MorningStar for my son, who is recovering from a stroke, after personally touring six Assisted Living sites in Billings plus researching 2 or 3 more. My decision to put him in MorningStar was the right one. When we arrived late on a Saturday afternoon, the staff was ready for him and took care to get him and his stuff into his room in such a way that my friend was impressed and said, "These folks practice Christianity as few Christians do." My son has had nothing but good things to say about the staff, from the caregivers who respond to his requests, to the servers in the dining room and the administrative staff. My feelings are the same. We had a slight disagreement which was resolved in my favor with such grace that I was shocked, as far too often such issues are never settled amicably. The facility is first class and is both clean and well maintained. The food service is also above average with a varied menu that tries to provide both "comfort" food and more adventurous items. I eat a meal with my son every day I can so I speak with some experience. If my future needs require me to move to a Senior community, it will be MorningsStar. It's rare for my expectations for anything are exceeded. In this case they were.

We recently had a family member require the services of Morningstar. Our initial meeting with Sean was reassuring and comforting through a difficult time. The staff is attentive, skilled and most importantly respectful of the residents. We noted that the residents seemed content and well groomed. We had several conversations with residents and all of them were very positive! All expressed pleasure regarding their living situation and the socialization it brought them. When my aging 90 year old father needed more help than I could provide, the decision was made to have him stay in an assisted living facility. We couldn't have made a better choice than living at Morning Star. The staff are wonderful to work with and are a loving and caring crew. I don't know how they can do it as it takes a special person to work with seniors who can be a bit difficult at times. Special thanks to Jamie who has always been there for my family whenever we had any questions or needs. For those of you looking for an assisted living facility for your loved ones, I would highly recommend comparing Morningstar to other facilities to see the difference. Thank you all!

My parents moved to Morningstar in 2017 and my mother is still there today. The staff at Morningstar is tremendously supportive, especially as my father moved from independent living to memory care. My Mom’s apartment is spacious with beautiful views. The facility and grounds are clean, updated and well maintained. The social events are an important part of Mom’s life and help her to remain active. I highly recommend Morningstar. Our experience there, over the last seven years, has been outstanding.

I am the caregiver for my sister who moved from her home of 45 years into Morningstar Independent Living in June 2023. The staff at Morningstar is always pleasant, available and they have gone out of their way to meet my sister's special needs as her mobility, speech and cognitive health have declined. (They even call her daily to assure she's ok.) I'm now moving my sister into Morningstar Assisted Living. When I first talked to the staff about my concerns, I was told, "Your sister's safety is our top concern. When you decide to have her move we'll help make it happen." She is now moving and the staff's assistance is exemplary. Once the decision was made, the staff moved quickly to facilitate paperwork, ready an apartment and connect me with movers. As a caregiver, I've been supported by Morningstar during every step of this journey.

MorningStar staff are kind and willing to help residents with any problems they encounter. Our apartment is spacious and nicely decorated, staff clean and do laundry once a week. I have been impressed with the many entertaining events offered to residents -- from Happy Hour live music to barbecues out on the patio. The dining room is available for a wide variety of breakfasts and then open for most of the rest of the day. You can order from the menu -- dishes change daily with many specials, homemade soups and desserts. Movies are regularly offered plus a library filled with books, and a shuttle bus if you need a ride somewhere. All in all, MorningStar is a good place to live.

My mother was a resident of MorningStar Senior Living in the Memory Care unit at Billings, MT for approximately 8 months. I cannot say enough about what an excellent experience we had there. The staff of MorningStar from the front office to the cleaning service are all helpful and friendly. They are more than willing to do what they can to make your elder’s stay a good one. MorningStar also recommended and helped me get mother setup with hospice care quickly and easily which was a huge support for my family. I was so touched that on my mother’s final days many of the staff members came in to tell me a story about mom and how much they had enjoyed her. Often a staff member would come in and ask if they could say goodbye to her before they left for the day. Truly a remarkable group of people. My Dad lives in The Memory Care Facility and My Mom lives in The Assisted Living with a private room. I was uneasy about having my parents be away from their home, but both areas of living take great care of my parent's well being. Our family had an extremely positive experience at MorningStar’s memory care facility in Billings. My dad had Alzheimer’s and after a number of years at home we were beginning to look for residential care options. He was then diagnosed with terminal cancer, and we were facing a situation that needed a combination of hospice care and memory care. This proved to be a complicated problem to find an answer for. MorningStar was helpful in accommodating our needs. Sean, Joe and the staff were caring, attentive and very kind to us. I appreciated their level of honesty at each step. There is no perfect solution for dealing with these hard conditions, but they were professional and flexible. As the end approached quickly for dad, Morningstar took good care of him, and even allowed me to put an air mattress in the corner of the room to stay overnight. Our family was allowed to gather in his room to say our goodbyes. We will always be grateful for the care that dad received at MorningStar. We experienced it first hand, and also observed the loving care for other residents who were at various stages of their own memory care needs. Our stay at MorningStar was a short, but intense season. It was there that we said farewell to a special person in our lives. We are so thankful that we chose to put dad’s care in the hands of the people at MorningStar. Highly recommended.

I don’t really know where to start. My mother lived in Morning Star independent living for about 17 months and then the memory care for about 3 months before she passed away on April 25. The people that work at Morning Star are the most amazing people!! They treat the residents and their families with love and kindness. They go beyond the call of duty. My mother was always treated with respect and dignity. I will never forget that. Ever. Sean and Jaimie always made time for me when I was feeling a bit overwhelmed with the aging process my mother was going through. Sweet Marlene at the desk always talked with her everyday and Mary that cleaned her apartment was so sweet and kind and worried about her when she put the note on the door don’t clean today. Michael and Perry always we’re kind when she said something didn’t work over and over!! I could go on and on. The people working in memory care were kind and made her last days ok since I couldn’t be with her. Thank you to everyone in memory care also!! Randy and Sonja. Everyone and you know who you are that packed up my mom’s belongings so I didn’t have to do it. Anyways I would highly recommend Morning Star to anyone that is looking for a special place to have their loved ones. Thank you again Sean and Jaimie for everything.

I have the highest praise for MorningStar Billlings - the facility, the staff, the attention, the activities, and the food. The facility is fresh, clean, and beautiful. Moving from home to a group facility is emotionally very hard. Good food is simply the first and the most important factor to every single resident. The staff in Billings has been kind, caring, and they treat our whole family with respect. Mom has had an easy time making friends and being encluded by the other residents. Morningstar Billings, Montana From the first phone call I made to check it out for my sister-in-law to move in for assisted living care, Sean did an excellent job of explaining the facility from Independent Cottages, Independent Apartment, Assisted Living Apartment and Memory Care. All within the facility grounds. Showing all the different rooms and comforts from the formal dining room with cloth tablecloth cloth, napkins, to social recreation facility with live music every Friday. Along with exercise facility, indoor swimming/exercise pool, game room, theater/church, beauty shop/barber shop, coffee shop and library/computer room, plant potting room and an activity room with a kitchen. A very cozy friendly atmosphere with Dot and Margie. They both are exceptional with their welcoming, joyful, energized and enthusiasm. The Faculty go over and beyond making it the best place ever for you to enjoy your experience living in a senior facility. They go out of their way to make sure that your family and friends are included just as they would be with you living outside the facility, possibly even more making it the best experience you would have for your senior years. Many activities are planned within the facility and outside the facility to take part in . The well-groomed grounds with plenty of seating areas and walking paths. I toured thirteen other facilities with my husband and sister-in-law before choosing Morning Star in Billings . My sister-in-law moved in to Morning Star in Billings, Montana within hours after touring the facility. She is still living there one and a half years later. She enjoys her home very much. Her along with all of us would highly recommend it and we have too many other people that are looking for the higher standards of living in senior facilities. My family members have lived at Morning Star for 2 1/2 years. From independent living to assisted living to memory care the care is outstanding! My mom is 89 and has some mobility issues. My sister had an early onset dementia and passed away two months ago in Reflections (memory care unit) and the love and care they all exhibited was outstanding. The caregivers are all very kind and efficient. The billing department handles billing issues quickly and efficiently. The front desk, kitchen/dining room, and activity staff is super friendly and attentive. There are lots of (seriously almost constant) activities. The only areas that I could see improvement are; 1-They are sometimes short handed, but every facility in the area has that problem. 2- Sometimes communication has been poor and details of my moms care are missed. (probably having to do with being short handed as well) All in all a stellar community!
