They always request employees to leave reviews. It's no wonder very few do. If they speak their mind about the toxic work culture they'd face backlash and probably lose their job. Carriage Square pays the lowest possible for every department. The good employees get used and burnt out while the slackers get to continue putting their feet up with nothing said. They have an extremely high turnover rate. Which means it's new staff every week that the residents have to readjust to. The residents deal with poor care. They sit in their own urine and feces over night. Staff sits at the nurses stations on their phones with their feet up while resident lights are going off. Staff often leaves residents in bed instead of getting them up for meals. Employees have been known to steal from the residents, whether that be candy, shampoo, etc. Some have even cussed at the residents calling one resident a "little [language removed]" but yet are still somehow employed there. Employees have been found to drink on the job. There are marks from cutting up drugs on the back employee bathroom sink. (Photos provided in the comments.) The head of housekeeping, [name removed], (Cousin of the head administrator) passes out her PRESCRIPTION Ibuprofen 800's to workers like they're tic-tacs. Family in the administration in the workplace causes MAJOR issues when dealing with staff complaints. The van driver (son of the head administrator) runs personal errands in the company vehicle while on the clock. They do not handle any complaints with sympathy, let alone empathy. They do not handle sexual harassment properly. Probably because one of the harassers, [name removed], is the son of [name removed], the head administrator. During my time there he harassed every new female worker including myself and continues to do so with more new workers coming in. He got put on a short leave but he's back to prowling the halls. [name removed] compared at least two sexual harassment instances to her own sons behavior. 🤔 In another instance I was threatened to be spanked with a board by a male coworker and [name removed] wanted to keep that staff member on the payroll, even after knowing my history of being a sexual assault survivor. Another very handsy staff member is the Physical Therapist named [name removed]. I had several residents complain about him being too touchy and he made them uncomfortable. All [name removed] did about it was give them a new therapist and keep [name removed] on staff. [name removed] also likes to touch female staff members and tug on their hair while making inappropriate comments about their appearance. They also allow a husband of a resident who is a violent sexual abuser of a 12 year old girl causing physical harm visit his wife in the waiting area while other visitors, with no knowledge of the incident, have their little girls up there visiting too. That's despicable. They are so desperate for help they will keep anybody on the payroll just to have a body to fill that position, no matter the offense. They pick the cheapest way to fix any problem which usually winds up causing more problems for the residents and maintenance staff. They make it really hard not to believe the racketeering rumor. There are some good employees in every department that truly care about the residents and not the paycheck but I would not send my family member to the rehab/healthcare building and I would not recommend any employment there with that biased administration in charge.

I have worked at almost every nursing home in Saint Joseph. Although I have worked at some good places, walking into Carriage Square I was shocked with how mindful and thorough they were with their cares. It's the good kind of different. Carriage doesn't have that "nursing home, feel or smell" that most are used to. Management & staff work hard to make it a home & not only for just the residents. Such a good place to start your new journey.

I came here for physical therapy and was not disappointed. Josh and Bonnie showed me that you didn't need a gym full of equipment to accomplish your PT goals. I also had excellent,attentive care from Shelly,Keesha,Shakira,Leah,Whitney,Stephanie and Morgan. Carriage Square went above my expectations.

When my mother first arrived here a year ago they had a pretty good staff, but the past 6-7 months it's went downhill. They are just hiring WHOEVER now! Some of the staff feel like they can talk to the residents however they feel especially at night when nobody is around. Some of my mothers things were stolen also I noticed as we were packing her belongings so make sure you pay attention as to what your loved has! We decided to take my mother out of this place because she got very ill with a UTI and needed MORE MEDICAL ATTENTION then what they could give her. They got nurses that can't tell when someone needs to go to the hospital or they just don't care not really sure which it is. I also watched my mother sit in her wheelchair from 8am-9:30 at night unassisted almost all day!

This place is wonderful holidays are so cheerful there they have it all decorated they treat the residents wonderful and there's so much activity the only reason it's four stars instead of five is because it is kind of hard to find the location it's like it's hidden in the trees it's hidden behind a bunch of trees so it's very hard to find which that's not really the staff's fault at all so not really a complaint just a warning that if you're driving there be sure to be on the lookout because you will pass it up

My Mother with MS died in 2012,at this nursing home.she lived here approximately 8 years. There were times that I did not like what I saw,and the continuous loud bell in the hall.I can write about all the bad,but instead I want to thank only the few that truely cared for her.She suffered ,could not speak, except God Bless You, I Love You over and over in a whisper.At times I felt she was placed on the back shelf.But never the less,Thank You.
