My loved one has resided at The Laurel at Norterre, a Tutera Senior Living community located near Liberty Hospital, since July 2024. During that time, I have developed a deep appreciation for the people who care for her and for the commitment they demonstrate each day. I considered recognizing individual staff members by name, but there are simply too many deserving people, and I would not want to unintentionally overlook anyone. Plus, I'm very bad at remembering names! The staff COLLECTIVELY deserve the highest marks I can give them. They consistently demonstrate compassion, patience, professionalism, and an excellent bedside manner—all the qualities a family hopes to find when entrusting a loved one to a residential care community. Caring for residents requires more than completing assigned duties. It requires understanding that each resident is an individual with a unique personality, history, preferences, and needs. The staff at The Laurel have shown that understanding in the way they interact with my loved one and in the dignity and respect they extend to her. Knowing that she is surrounded by people who genuinely care about her provides reassurance that is difficult to put into words, particularly on days when she is not at her best in terms of health and/or demeanor. I also want to mention that I've seen meaningful improvement in the facility’s nursing leadership and care coordination since Tabitha Dye became Director of Nursing. Tabitha is a familiar and reassuring presence to my loved one because she makes a point of visiting with residents. These are not quick, “check-the-box” appearances. She takes the time to get to know them, ask about their likes, dislikes, preferences, and concerns, and make them feel known and valued as individuals rather than simply cared for as part of a routine. Like many senior living communities, The Laurel sometimes relies on agency personnel to supplement its regular staff, particularly on weekends. I have noticed a significant improvement in the quality and consistency of those individuals as well. That deserves recognition because continuity of care is EXTREMELY important to residents and their families. Kudos to The Laurel for being attentive to the quality of supplemental staffing and for working to ensure that all caregivers meet the standards residents deserve. No care community is without challenges, but what matters most is how leadership and staff respond, improve, and remain focused on the people they serve. Based on my loved one's experience and my own observations for 2+ years, The Laurel has demonstrated a sincere commitment to compassionate, resident-centered care. I wholeheartedly recommend The Laurel at Norterre to families seeking a community where their loved one will be treated with patience, dignity, compassion, and genuine personal attention.

We cannot say enough great things about The Laurel at Norterre and their amazing staff! My grandmother had to move facilities after breaking her hip last October and it has been so incredibly comforting knowing she's finally in good hands. You can tell the staff here genuinely cares about the residents and they go above and beyond to keep them comfortable and well taken care of. My grandmas room is perfect for her and they don't force her to go to the cafeteria at her old age, her meals are delivered to her room. The place is setup perfectly for the residents and it feels like home. Highly recommend this place!!

The staff at The Laurel are very kind and understanding. They always let me know how things are going with my mom and I truly appreciate their patience with her as she sometimes can be difficult. The apartments are very nice and the meals are great but it’s all the staff that makes difference. I highly recommend The Laurel at Norterre.

My mother lived at The Laurel at Norterre at the end of her life. I am so grateful that we found them. It’s such a cozy environment instead of a hospital feel. They have events and holiday parties. But most importantly a wonderful kind caring staff that are always available.

We couldn’t be more grateful for the exceptional care my aunt has received at The Laurel at Norterre. From the very beginning, the staff has gone above and beyond to make her transition smooth and reassuring — not just for her, but for our whole family. They’ve been incredibly helpful in navigating the complexities of her long-term care insurance, something that felt overwhelming at first. Their knowledge and willingness to assist made a huge difference and took a major burden off our shoulders. The medical support has also been outstanding. Her medications are carefully managed and administered on time, and communication with us has always been clear and prompt. It’s a relief knowing she's in such capable hands. On top of that, the meals are excellent — nutritious, well-balanced, and actually something she looks forward to! The entire team has created a warm, welcoming environment where residents are treated with dignity, compassion, and respect. We’re so thankful to the entire staff at The Laurel. It’s comforting to know my aunt is not only well cared for, but truly thriving.

My father moved in the memory care wing of Laurel at Norterre. The intake process went beautifully no hitchs at all thanks to the administrative staff. This was just the beginning every step of the way while moving him into his apartment to the day to day care of my dad was nothing short of outstanding. During his acclimation to his new home the staff met his frustration and anger with the utmost professionalism and understanding. I have worked in the health care industry for over 25 years including working in an alshiemer unit and have not experienced better care given. They treated my father with the same care and respect that a family member deserves. A simple thank you is not enough for the staffs efforts to make my fathers end of life care so special

When The Laurel at Norterre opened in 2018, my husband & I toured the facility during their Open House only because we had a family member that was going to be working there. We were so impressed with everything that The Laurel had to offer that I said when the time came that my mom could no longer live by herself this would be where I would like for her to live. Fast forward to earlier this year (2025) we had to make the hard decision that my mom could no longer live by herself. I did look at a couple of other assisted living places but knew I had already made the decision of where I wanted her to live. Laura is a gem!!! She made the moving in process so smooth. Amber & her staff are very attentive in making sure that my mom has what she needs. I now have peace of mind knowing that my mom is being well taken care of – I know that has relieved a lot of her stress also. I appreciate them all so much!!

I can’t say enough about how grateful we are to everyone at Tutera Tiffany Springs. My mother in law has lived there a year and she’s been so well cared for. The food is amazing. We’ve actually voted their burger as the best we’ve ever had!!! There are so many activities and such awesome staff members working hard to make it a community. We have been especially pleased and impressed with the cleanliness and the maintenance team. They take great pride in the facility and go above and beyond to make sure the apartment is in tip-top shape. They offer many special experiences for holidays and entertainment. Communication has been great whenever we have had a question or needed anything at all. We’ve had many loved ones in facilities as they’ve aged and this is definitely number one in our book.Thank you for being such an amazing home!!!

Actually they were marvelous not only the managers Amber and Laura but the whole staff, the residents are so sweet and kind. Oh and the food was wonderful and dad loved it. Both of my parents(each with different care needs) lived here for a year before my mom's passing. Now my dad is there alone. I have found a family here! My parents have been loved and cared for well. The other residents also look out for each other. Family involvement is welcomed. I found the right place to give me peace of mind!

In the journey to locate the next chapter for my 91yr old father, I stumbled upon The Laurel. Working with Tonya was a delightful education in the world of Assisted Living from a person that genuinely cares about the human at the end of the service. This journey was probably one of the most difficult choices I've ever had to make. The experience I had with Tonya and The Laurel helped my family make it through this enormous decision. There aren't words with high enough praise for Tonya and her staff.

Norterre in Liberty, Missouri, has done wonders with my mom’s happiness. She is a much happier person living in the Norterre assisted living facility. Her humorous personality which I have not seen since I was a child has returned. If she was still living in her home, I don’t think she would be as happy or healthy as she is now. She loves living at Norterre. She enjoys the daily fun activities and never gets bored. She has fun talking with the other residents and staff. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. The nurses and staff are up to date on their residences. The staff are very friendly and attentive on calling me on my mom’s health changes or if she has lost her balance. I’m able to reach one of the staff members anytime and they are able to answer any of my questions or concerns. Before placing my mom in any assisted living facilities, I researched the assisted living facilities in the area of Liberty and Kearney. I give Norterre high marks on wanting to know about the resident and their needs as a person and the family. The other facilities in the area did not give me this interest of my mom. They were more about here’s our facility and here’s our pricing. When do you plan to drop mom off. These other places did not give me a welcome feeling to place my mom, as Norterre was excited to make a comfortable and fun place for my mom. And to this day, she is totally a different, happier person living at Norterre assisted living. She has been living there for about a year now. The meals there always smell delicious and look great for the residents. They do fun events. Have guest come in to entertain the residents. Their activities director keeps them busy daily if the residents want to join in the fun. My mom shows me the things they do together as a group with art work, gardening, games, prizes, music and etc. My mom says, they keep me busy and out of trouble. Lol! As my mom’s caretaker and daughter I’m couldn’t ask for a better place! I now have peace of mind that my Mom is being cared for and knowing she is very happy where she is now living.
