My grandmother was a resident during her end of life at a sister facility to The Madison in Joplin, MO, named Wildwood. Being a KC resident, I wanted to do something in her honor for a facility here. Kelela posted on Facebook that she wanted to do something nice for her residents outside, so we partnered on a project to bring seating spaces in the courtyard for residents to be able to go outside and enjoy nature as part of their care while at The Madison. Kelela was so passionate to work with, and her love for her residents and was obvious every step of the way, along with honoring someone she didn't even know. She and Joey truly have a passion for what they do, and they set that example for the rest of their team. Thank you for letting us honor her in a small way that will bring joy to people just like her, who just love being outside and enjoying the beautiful world we live in!

I like visiting the Madison. They have so many fun events. There was a car show I helped volunteer at and also a flag folding event. The residents are very friendly and the people who work there are very nice too. I like helping at the Madison.

I taught a class to the residents here. The community is beautiful and it seems like the residents are truly happy with their living conditions. The rooms are large and the entire place is very clean. I even had lunch at their restaurant and the food was very good.

My father-in-law and mother-in-law moved into The Madison Assisted Living on March 1, 2024. The entire staff has been caring and supportive since the day they moved in. An example of this is my father-in-law passed away in June in the morning. Two nurses sat with my mother-in-law until I could get there after he passed. The staff really goes above and beyond to support and guide family members that are experiencing a new journey. We initially met with Todd and were impressed with facility. The Madison is a newer facility with well managed exterior and interior. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable and answered all my questions. The floorplans were more than adequate and seemed more spacious and bright. There was ample closet space and and small washer/dryer in the unit. In addition to very new appliances, their dining area is open 7am-7pm and a bistro also sells snacks. They provide an area with covered parking for a minimal extra charge and I also liked that they have a heated indoor pool as well as water aerobics classes. The Madison is currently at the top of my list also because of its pricing and location as well as all the other amenities.

What a pure joy and blessing Kelela Kiyono, Resident Services Director is! Her ability to create unique experiences for the residents is amazing. She makes living at The Madison fun and adventuresome, improving quality of life for all. Kelela genuinely cares for each resident and gives that extra effort to help new residents feel welcome and part of the community. That goes for family members too. We love her! We, as a family, are so happy that mom made the decision to make The Madison her home. She has lived there just 2 1/2 months and the improvement in her overall health has been remarkable. From the food selection, social interaction and activities, she is a different person who has come back to life. The entire staff have been wonderful, caring and responsive. If you are looking for an all inclusive Independent Living lifestyle, The Madison checks all the boxes!

We have a family friend living there. When it first opened it was amazing, the food was good, staff was amazing. A couple years later you are starting to see the "corporate" side of this place. Cutting back on quality of food, constantly running out of food, weird menu changes that the staff has no say over. A place like this the food and its quality should be number one. These folks can't afford to be loosing weight. The quality of the food is awful now. Typical large corporation behavior, start off with high quality, then raise rent and start cutting costs. Such a bummer. I would have a few dinners here before making the decision to move in.

I have worked with The Madison on several occasions. As a professional down sizer, I have had to work closely with the staff to coordinate move in details for clients. Everyone there is quick to respond and help. They truly care about their residents, and want to provide a place that feels like home. I have worked most closely with Kelela. She is so warm and so capable. She goes above and beyond to make The Madison a positive, caring, and really fun community. If there was a way to give her more than 5 stars, I absolutely would.

The Madison was wonderful to work with from the time my dad moved in till the day he passed. The staff is accommodating and friendly. The facility was always clean, the residents were always so friendly and they treated my dad and us like family. On the day he passed they cried tears of grief right by our side. A few weeks after he had passed we received a personalized gift for us to remember him by. Thank you to the Madison for making the last year of his life joyful.

We just moved my Mom to The Madison and the experience has been great. Kelela gave us the tour when we were looking and she is amazing. She is so kind and thoughtful and made our family feel so comfortable and welcome. The facility is beautiful and really nice. All of the staff have been amazing and my mom loves it!

Our Dad moved here 3 months ago, and he has had a great experience at The Madison! The facility is very new and nice, staff are friendly and helpful, and there are many activities for residents to enjoy and connect with each other. Overall we are so pleased to have a wonderful, safe place for our Dad!

I've just completed a tour of The Madison Senior Living facility in south Kansas City. I was very impressed. The facility was clean and very modern; the amenities were well thought out; and the staff was friendly and welcoming. My hostess, Kelela Klyono, was knowledgeable, organized, and professional. I simply cannot get over her ability to know the names of every resident we met during my visit. I am convinced that, if we had met 100 more, she would have known their names, too. However, the most unusual moment of the tour was meeting the "Cow." Yes, the Cow! It speaks volumes about an institution when a staff member, such as Sous-Chef Theresa, on her day off would don a Holstein cow costume and wear it to bring a smile and a little levity to her clientele. This one single action was more effective in promoting The Madison than a stack of glossy brochures. All in all, the Madison is a top-notch organization.

The Madison is hands down the nicest senior living apartment community I have been to. The apartments are spacious and the amenities are comfortable. All residents there were smiling and happy and so were their staff. I was invited to a Sunday brunch as a guest, and felt like I was in a 5-star resort!!! The place is clean and I know I will put my own parent there when they age. I highly recommend this place!

My cousin and I toured the residence looking for a place for our grandmother, when the time is right. We had a wonderful experience, the sales girl who was from Hawaii was super friendly and seemed to genuinely care about making this the best experience for our grandmother. In simple terms, The Madison Senior Living is beyond reproach. Short backstory...My Uncle who lives alone in Kansas City began to experience some unexpected health issues a few months ago and as a result, we had to expeditiously move him from his residence to Senior Living at The Madison. A young lady named Kalalah gave us the initial tour and answered all of our questions. Faced with a difficult situation, Kalalah not only expedited the move in details but also assisted us with a reliable moving transportation company point of contact. Today, along with the rest of the Madison Staff, Kalalah still provides ongoing assistance when needed. In short, The Madison Staff is the best I've seen. If I have a question and or need assistance regarding my uncle, they will immediately attempt to solve any issue with whatever is needed. Thank you!

So kind with a big personality my Grandmother talks so highly about him. I love The Madison. Everyone is always friendly. Most of my time has been spent in the Memory Care Neighborhood. It is a beautiful community with the latest technology. The residents are well cared for and the staff is usually engaged with them in a fun activity.

Since living at The Madison, I have made new friends with fellow residents and with staff. Any problem I encounter, like mailing packages during the holiday season to hanging numerous pictures on the wall, I have had kind help to accomplish the tasks.
