In 2023, I had a short term stay here and the experience was not so pleasant with many staffing concerns, BUT what a difference a year can make! Recently, I had a 3 week stay and this place has made great improvements in patient centric care with the new Administrator, Corey Bayless. Below are some of the reasons why this recent visit was OUTSTANDING: PHYSICAL THERAPY Ignite PT department is known for excellence in Physical therapy. Under the direction of James Huskey, the staff is amazing, very caring and have state of the art equipment. I appreciate all their efforts, but especially Andrew, (the Megans), and the supervising PT, Leslie who really helped me improve my walking and balancing concerns. NURSING / CNA I can't say enough about the great care given by Mikela and Penny. They were both very attentive and would check often on my needs. Beside every good nurse is a wonderful Aide who can "make or break" a rehab stay. I was so blessed to have the dynamic duo of Tee Tee and Lavender to attend to my daily needs. In addition to these lovely ladies, another "angel" is Sonya, who really showed her passion & compassion for me and other patients. Kim & Brooke were the Nurse managers on call and very grateful my family had access to contact them at anytime! MISCELLANEOUS Your front desk staff (Crystal, Karina and Sydney) made a great impression with her professionalism and warm smiles, always eager to help. - The food was tasty! - Grateful for the housekeeping staff too. My stay at Ignite has been good. Ashly in hospitality is great and is always making me laugh! The brand new housekeeper has done amazing. Daniele on night shift is a great nurse! I haven't had trouble with any staff during the day at all they are all great. Night shift doesn't come around very often. Ethan is the best therapist! James is also great. Tamisha is great at making sure I get the care I need. The restorative Aide who I do exercises with has been great to me as well! Sydney and Ana are both great front desk receptionists. As a whole this has been a pleasant experience! There have been several people who have made my stay amazing! James has been so helpful to me to stay informed and help me with my requests. He is kind and gentle with his words. Brittny has also been helpful with both myself and my friend who was also a patient here. Both James and Brittny work well together! Those in therapy are amazing who would be Leslie, Rosella, Tanya, Mitchel and Andrew. Tamisha has also been attentive to me. She always checks in on me and is always kind to me. Cece, Tete, Brooke, Danielle, they have all been so supportive of my care. Tete has sang to me and makes me smile. Ashly always makes sure I'm okay and makes me feel happy with her smile. To wrap this up I would like to say that every single place has hiccups but this place you can always see that the people care about your stay and want to fix the issues at hand. You will find helpful, kind, loving, and smart people. I would recommend this place to everyone and even people who say this place is bad. I would tell them to try it again because this place deserves all the credit.

If I had rated Ignite Carondelet when we first arrived it would have been in negative numbers. Staff was inattentive in every way: Nursing, housekeeping, CNAs and techs. So much so that for the past 3 weeks my sister and I have stayed with mom 24/7 while she has been here. With that being said, with kindness we brought attention to the lacking areas and staff began to respond in a big way. Ashley, Brittany, Mitchell, Medina, Lavender, TiTi, 2 night nurses, and more have worked to improve service and the quality of stay for their patients. Directors of the facility have listened to our issues and tried their best to fix them. I am glad I was able to advocate not only for my mother but for the patients who have no one to speak for them.

I'm having a terrible time here. I'm not able to get my pain medication on schedule when I ask for it and miss my regular medications regularly. I can't get my call light answered either. When I ask about my medication I get a snobby answer from the nurse. My daughter is trying to find another place for me to go to. I'll be glad to leave here. There are a few aides that are really good but they are few and far between.

I would suggest a better channel line up and a different way to access the lights in the room but I'm stronger now and really excited to be home! I feel like this place could do so much better. Some of the staff are rude..when I asked where to get water she told me from a pitcher...then said you can get it from the jug because there's NO filtered water in the building Im guessing...then proceeded to tell me that I could get water out of the sink. From the pictures shown online you would think it's a beautiful semi resort....but no...it's like a hut in the desert on an island with no amenities. The beautiful scenery up front doesn't take the place of the darn near empty rooms with no pictures on the walls. Even if you have to go to the thrift store for art do it!!!! I'm sure you get enough friends from the people that come there for care!!! Care a little bit!!! Make people feel welcome when they come in and when they leave. Make people feel like they made the right choice by coming there instead of ignoring what's right in your face!!!!

Do not let the new name fool you, there is no luxury care going on here. Anywhere in here. My loved one's room is filthy. She has been waiting to be pulled upright in bed and is still waiting as I type. It's been hours. I did a practicum here ad a future CNA in 2014. It was horrible then and nothing has changed except the layout. I hurts to see my loved one treated this way. Right now I have no power or rights to change this. My loved one looks drained of hope every time I visit. Please do no even consider bringing a loved one here. Don't even consider bringing Hitler to this place.

My first impressions was so great with Devin and the nurses walking me to my room. Therapy has been so great to work with me with my broken knee caps. Betty and Cece were the main aids that worked my hall they were so wonderful. My occupational therapist Payton was so encouraging and just so nice which means a lot. Food could have been better. I do suggest a talking system when you push the nurse button and you can just tell them what you want instead of just hitting the button.

(PT 2 of 2) easy going because she fears them being mean or retaliating on her. I've asked for her to go out for therapy because she can do that!!!! and Sarah has ignored me. I've filed grievances and left them in Martha's mailbox on her office door and haven't heard a follow up. They probably talk to mom but again she likes to keep the peace and voice stuff to us or she forgets a lot!! They remodeled so that was another reason to choose it because they were investing into the building. The front of the building is nice along with the Starbucks they have put there that doesn't take cash just card so, the residents can't enjoy it because of course they don't have cards. Really beautiful place but if you go down A, B , and C hall you will see the reality. The smell of urine, dirty carpet, nasty hallways and resident bathrooms, neglected patience's, rude aides & nurses things that hurt my heart to witness. I don't get snap shots I spend hours up there and I observe this. I understand being short handed but residents should never have to hear that as an excuse as to why they aren't cared for. Kudos to S. Coleman and Asia who have been my moms aides a few times. They do great with her when they have her. My mom likes the other residents there, enjoys activities and doesn't like change but I'm considering another place because my mom deserves better care and attention. Unlike most of the other patients my mom has potential to recover and walk again and live independently. Everyday she's declining because she lacks Physical Therapy, Mental Health care, and occupational and Patient care and assistance. Ignite Corondelet do better because the flame that represents you on your logo is blowing out for me and a lot of other families I've talk to there. Before y'all respond and leave numbers, call meetings and find faults, point fingers here's some Advice from someone with friends in the news world and who works in management "Don't try to be right just get it right" I and my family are the most understanding people and have been this entire time. Let that lead you in any of your decisions as well.

I recently had my right knee replaced, and was seeking an outpatient rehab site. I was referred to Ignite, and made contact with Cory. I work full-time, and my schedule can vary a bit. Cory did a great job working with me to set up a rehab plan that fit my schedule. My rehab goal was to increase flexibility and strength. Prior to the knee surgery, I had been struggling with standing, walking, and all other forms of movement regarding the use of both legs. I had been struggling with a 12-degree bend in the knee. I completed eight weeks of therapy, initially three times a week, and then twice a week for the final four weeks. I was assisted by Ethan and Mitchell. Both of them were absolutely fantastic in regard to teaching me techniques to use to gain needed flexibility, strength, and specifically in helping to straighten my knee. Both were excellent regarding motivation, and were very knowledgeable - they displayed a high degree of competence and concern at every point. When I finished with this, I was down to 3-degrees in the knee, and my strength and flexibility felt really good! My surgeon (Dr. Terry Presley/OSI - KCMO), noticed the good work. I will be completing the replacement of my left knee shortly, and will be returning to Ignite at Carondelet for my rehab. Thanks again Cory, Ethan, and Mitchell for being awesome!

While there was dozens of good employees there were just as many bad ones. The nursing staff was completely unprofessional and were not attentive to my needs in a timely manner. Much of my stay I spent chasing down Nurses to get my meds. It was overall clean and the upper management genuinely help me but the nursing staff was just so bad that I can't give them more than a two star. I don't know if the negligent behavior towards me was based on my age and my race so I can't say come or choose another place, but I would definitely Look elsewhere. That being said this is my first experience in a skilled nursing facility.
