College View Manor is a gorgeous community that offers well-appointed and spacious apartments, as well as meals, light housekeeping, activities, and transportation to appointments and outings. Very clean facility, friendly staff, was impressed with the amenities.. they have a library, a gym, pool table, game room, activities for the residents and even a hair salon. The dining room is gorgeous very nice facility

My friend and I toured with Cheryl recently. She answered all of our questions and showed us all of the details. Joplin has a wonderful transit program that will pick you up at your door and take you where you want to go for only $2.00 each way for those who are aged 60+, Veterans or disabled. Even though College View Manor does provide transportation for doctor appointments and a few other activities, being part of the Joplin community allows for even more independence for those who either do not drive or don't want to fight the parking lots. This will certainly be an option for my soon to be 89 year young friend! I also hear the dining menu is excellent.

We are new to the College View Manor community and have been grateful for their kindness and care so far. Cheryl Thompson was wonderful at touring and providing us with information we needed to make a decision with our Dad. Her respect for him was evident with each conversation. The Executive Director and Maintenance Team were also kind and attentive. We feel very comfortable making a choice to have Dad join this community and look forward to what is to come for him. The team helped make a difficult time easier for us so far.

I have lived here 10 years and truthfully have no place else to go. We have great staff. I have no problems with maintenance or housekeeping now....they have a good crew now. As individual happiness depends on all staff working together. This is my fourth administrator and I have seen many changes. Vicky is lead cook and when she retires the quality of food will go downhill imho, Vicki has been here longer than me . But even with all the changes it is still the best place for seniors in Joplin. Wildwood is more expensive and while they have meals for special diets, my friend says the food is better here. So I would recommend the facility to anyone looking for a safe place to live...oh and they have a 5% vets discount for the time being!

I have had the opportunity to tour and view all amenities at college view. 10/10!!! I recommended my grandfather to view the community and he loved it! If you’re looking for an independent living community for a loved one, search no more! College view is, hands down, the place to pick!

Gorgeous property in a lovely neighborhood. Tenants are active and social. Friendly staff that feels more like family. Elevators for convenience. Pet friendly with lower Apts easy access to outside from private patios. Dining is restaurant style with wait staff. Apts are larger than any other we've seen, providing a feeling of a home not a hotel room. So many amenities and priced affordably.

Sadly, my mom lived there almost 5 months. It’s a beautiful facility. However, our experience was not a pleasant one. The first month my mom lived there, house keeping wasn’t coming in to clean, and sometimes the sheets didn’t get washed. She paid extra to have her dog walked twice a day. Because she was on oxygen, & in a wheelchair, & not able to do that. Sometimes the dog didn’t get walked. And it wasn’t always due to weather conditions either. My mom fell a couple of weeks ago during the night. She pushed her call button. The over night staff came up, put her back in bed. He didn’t call the family, he didn’t call an ambulance, nor did he document the incident in the book. That morning, my brother found her in bed, & she told him what happened. A trip to the ER by ambulance turned out that my mom had 4 broken ribs and a bruised lung. My advice is get EVERYTHING in writing! Including whether or not family or Power of Attorney will be called in case of emergency. Apparently, the over night staff person in this case didn’t see it was necessary to make a phone call, nor thought that my mom was important enough to even document the incident.

I am so impressed with College View Manor. Brandi gave my Mom and I a tour of the facility. She was so kind and informative. I felt like I was talking with a friend. The rooms were clean, and spacious. The staff and residents we met appeared to be very happy. I want to commend Brandi on doing a fantastic job keeping in touch with me and answering all my inquiries asap. She has emailed, texted and talked on the phone with me over the past few months in a timely, comforting way. Thank you to her for helping me with this difficult decision.

Personally knowing Carrie and being able to tour the building and speak with some of the residents, this place is the perfect place for your loved ones. This isn’t a skilled nursing facility or a nursing home, this is a HOME. A place for them to make their own, build relationship, and live life to the fullest. If the situation ever occurs, this is where I would send my loved ones.

I came to College View Manor looking for the best Independent Living fit for my mom, Claudia Brooker. From my first visit until the present Brandi has been my contact. She has been very professional, informative and transparent form the very beginning. She was with mom and myself through the whole process of visitation to move in. She helped with all the negotiating of the contract. Brandi sent me pictures of mom participating in morning exercises. Any time she has questions or concerns about mom she reaches out to me. I would highly recommend Brandi and all of College View Manor to anyone.

I have been a resident almost 9 years, I knew rent would rise and I’m on fiduciary right now. There have been many changes sinc eI first moved in, but the staff they hire is always great. I think the raise in rent is higher than the 7.5 % increase as stipulated in the rental contract and I haven’t signed a new one

I only shared 2 stars instead of one due to management when my mother moved in. New management basically kicked her out and arranged for a nursing home to pick her up rather than keeping family informed of issues. Had they have shared their concerns, effort would have been made and was being looked into but they took it upon themselves. Wouldn't want this to happen to anyone else!

This place is amazing! The staff goes above and beyond for my grandmother and family. They have activities that the families can participate in as well, and it’s always so clean and welcoming. We also enjoy their prime rib nights 🙂

Met our friend for Memorial Day Dinner this evening. An excellent dinner of prime rib, and sides. The fresh fruit was delicious as well. I was so impressed with the friendly, caring staff that served both residents and guests. The dessert of strawberries and pound cake was excellent, and beer and wine was available as well. We had a great time and after dinner, when we locked ourselves out on the balcony, a quick call brought a smiling staff member to our rescue. A great place for caring supportive staff in an open, independant living situation.

This community is a true gem of kindness. What impressed me most was not only the excellent food or that the beauty inside but seeing the relationship of how the staff interacts with their residents. If you are looking for a true family environment where you are greeted with smile, this is the place for you.

As soon as I walked in the front door I was impressed. Very friendly staff. Everyone seems as if they are family and do a great job at making you feel like you’re family as well. I loved seeing how they pay tribute to the residents that are veterans with a Wall of Honor and how invovled they are with supporting the Alzheimer’s Association. The food was surprisingly good and the entertainment was top notch. Truly a Five Star establishment.

A gorgeous facility with friendly and personable staff. My wife and I have attended quite a few of the family events at College View, and we are always impressed. The front desk people are professional and helpful. The activities director is always working hard to set up fun events for the residents. The kitchen staff do a marvelous job. The entertainers that they hire are VERY good! The residents here all seem very lively and happy. I've worked with seniors for years, and I've seen the best and worst of retirement communities. College View Manor is among the best, and I encourage you to come go the staff and tour the facility.
