My 89 year old mom moved from a beautiful facility in Lakeville to Sugarloaf in Winona. The facility she was in was beautiful but there were several "red flags" that created an urgency to get out. To my surprise she said she wanted to move to Winona and stuck with that decision. I was worried/nervous. How would it compare? How do you transfer care of a fragile 89 year old? Well, we just passed our 2 week mark. And truthfully, the whole experience will be like comparing apples to oranges. She does miss her friends, it is HARD to move when you are 89! BUT....1. The care staff....the way it is organized and how how people care, they are professional and sweet. They look at Mom and talk to Mom. They take time and do not rush her. Jackie, I have been told, she now loves like one of her own kids. I could go go on and on ... Seriously....move your elderly parent here. 2. The food. Night and Day. My tiny, 5'4 mom, is talking about lunch everyday. She is almost licking her plate. Again...the person in charge of the cooking...seriously cares from variety to quality...it is out of this world. Also, The Dr's across the street make house calls to the facility! The front door staff....greets you everyday! The whole place is cared for and in good repair! I could go on and on but this review is already too long. I just can't recommend this place enough....it is HARD moving your fragile parent/loved one into someone else's care...Sugarloaf does it better than I could do it on my own.

Sugar Loaf Senior Living is a wonderful place that my mother experienced as an assisted living resident and then transferred into the memory care unit as her health declined. Staff were amazing and truly care for the residents. Residents have the feeling of being independent and yet have the comfort knowing that whenever they need assistance it will be available 24/7. Great place for all are well seasoned people to live.

I have been an Aide at Sugar Loaf Senior Living for over six years. My favorite part of my job is the time you get to spend with the tenants, helping with their needs. No matter how big or small. The most rewarding part is when they recognize you even with you face mask on. I can't imagine working anywhere else.
