I’ve lived here for five years, and while the fellow residents are great and there are a few good staff members, upper management and corporate consistently put profit before care. Communication is non-existent”we were recently informed of an abrupt corporate transition from New Perspective to StoryPoint taking effect August 31st with zero prior consultation. In five years, we’ve gone through five executive directors, showing a major problem with leadership. Resident Council input is ignored, and residents have to fight for basic needs. Advertised amenities like pontoon boat rides only fit five people at a time twice per week. Despite corporate claims that residents come first, high employee turnover and poor top-down management make it clear money comes first.

I can't say enough wonderful things about this assisted living facility. My mother was a resident there, and she was always treated with kindness, dignity, and respect. After my father passed away, she truly found comfort, companionship, and a sense of belonging in the community. Knowing she was cared for by such compassionate and dedicated staff gave our family tremendous peace of mind. We are deeply grateful for everything they did to support and care for my mother, and I highly recommend this facility to anyone seeking quality care for a loved one.

Beware of bait and switch. They promised us that if we moved into a small available apartment that we’d have first choice as soon as a larger lake view apartment became available. Once moved in, the previous sales director was suddenly gone and the executive director refused to honor the promise to us of a larger lake view apartment and so were forced to have our loved one in a very small apartment that’s extremely difficult to navigate a Walker, or wheelchair in. The food is horrible. Like imagine two steps worse than hospital food. My dad calls it institutional food. In example the ribs are like rubber, not fall off the bone like a restaurant. If a hotel like the Drury can feed all their guests a proper meal every night, so should senior living be able to. The dock is technically handicapped accessible but there’s a steep hill to the lower parking lot and a gravel path to get there, which is not accessible for someone in a wheelchair by themselves. They do have on site physical therapy but need to give residents a set schedule for therapy, not just random drop ins do you want therapy today. They should also be aware of client medical appointments and have better coordination of care. A client isn’t going to want to do on site physical therapy the same day they meet with their other therapists and doctors. Medications need to be on a set time schedule, not randomly given. On a happy note, most of the staff did seem caring and attentive. The pontoon rides are a plus. There are deer that gather nearby at sunset which is fun to watch. The lady at the front desk is lovely and often baking fresh cookies. They have a variety of on site and off site events. My family member enjoys living on the lake, sitting outside, friendly residents and any issues we have are resolvable or we’re able to accept even if not ideal. Also this place accepts the CADI waiver/elderly waiver which allows for more people to be able to afford living here. They have plans to remodel inside and outside so we’re looking forward to the upgrades

I have visited New Perspective Roseville on several occasions as my daughter is the Executive Director. I have enjoyed every single visit. The residents are so pleasant and very welcoming. I have met most of the residents and some of their family members, and it was a delight with each interaction. I attended their Harvest festival and to watch the staff interact with the residents, their families and other staff, it truly felt like family. The caring nature of the staff was heartwarming. I don't typically write reviews, but New Perspective’s is definitely an exception. I found myself unexpectedly searching for an Assisted Living facility for my father with early onset Alzheimer's. I have toured many places and poured over reviews; New Perspective is a breath of fresh air (literally, the lake is beautiful) in the elder or special needs care world. Chriss was excellent from the start; she has been highly responsive, knowledgeable, and a force to be reckoned with. My first tour was great; I could see some downtime and their activities. I also spoke with a resident who had nothing but great things to say about the staff, food, and living quarters. My second tour was just for my father to get a feel of the facility, and to say he was wowed would be an understatement; upon leaving, he was giddy and wanted nothing other than to move in that day. Even after a few delays in the moving process, Chriss really worked her magic and made my dad’s dream a reality. He is all moved in and loves his apartment, neighbors, the staff, and, of course, the lake. He has made a group of friends and has nothing but great things to say about the food. I love that he can be independent while knowing he is safe and cared for. He will eventually need memory care, and I am very happy that he can age in place because I can not imagine leaving such a loving environment. If you come by for a tour stop in and say Hi to Greg W!

I give New Perspective a 5 star rating based on the most positive experience we had touring the facility and more importantly for our interactions with Angie Hallaway during this process. I can not say enough wonderful things about Angie. She was absolutely amazing and went above and beyond our expectations, while considering New Perspective for our mother. My brother, mother and I toured New Perspective with Angie. She was pleasant, friendly, knowledgeable, funny and immediately made us feel at home with coffee and popcorn. She focused on getting to know my mother and our family. It was evident that she genuinely cares about the residents. My mom had a twinkle in her eyes as she talked about her life and answered Angie’s questions. Angie took a lot of time with us and showed us the entire facility. After the tour she checked in with us however we did not feel any pressure. My brother and I noticed a couple things we felt could have been improved and Angie was extremely grateful and appreciated of our honest feedback. Selecting an assisted living home for your parent or loved one is one of the most important choices you will make. Angie seemed more interested in making sure our mom was in the right facility rather than convincing us to choose New Perspective. In the end we decided on a place with more of a mix of ind©pendant/ assisted living units which was my mother’s choice. If my mother’s situation changes, I would not hesitate to choose New Perspectives.

New Perspective Roseville has been extremely helpful to my mom and me. I moved her here to Minnesota from Washington DC, with a mild illness/addiction, and today she is as healthy and happy as she could ever be. She loves this community so much that she became a little song bird floating around sharing pleasant sounds singing the gospel. We checked out multiple places but knew immediately New Perspectives was the place after talking with Anita. She has that energetic yet caring personality sprinkled with the right amount of humor we all needed!! She went above and beyond to make our transition as painless as possible. The decision to move a loved one into assisted living is never easy. Anita made the entire process easy and comfortable. She spent so much time walking us through the process; helping me on my schedule by answering my questions and helping to reassure me that AL (in any facility) was best for my mom. Anita's professionalism and knowledge are what ultimately led us to choose NP Roseville for my mom. Kathy and the medical staff are very helpful and the on-site medical visits are fantastic. My mom has been living at NP Roseville for a little over a month and is so happy with her new apartment -- the food, activities and all facilities. I love that my mom is able to have activities throughout the day to keep her busy and is being cared for by caring professionals. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a caring environment for their loved ones.

Bright and shiny on the outside, but looks can be deceiving. When my loved one was there staff sometimes took way too long to respond to calls for medical assistance and sometimes never at all. Medication was not always provided as scheduled, especially during evening and weekend hours-must have been a staffing issue. I hope it has improved since then (2 years ago). For us the main reason for an assisted living was that resident could not manage their own meds, what color the carpet was or if they offered bingo was not the concern.

The staff at NP of Roseville has very caring people who work there. My dad has lived there almost 2 years in the memory care center. The care givers are respectful of his wishes and lifestyle. The nurse(s) that work on the floor are very helpful. The medical staff that calls on the clinic are also excellent. The food that they prepare is also tasty. Finding a good place for a parent with memory issues is difficult but have always had excellent care from this facility.
