New Perspective is one of the best senior care communities in the East Metro especially for residents in and around Woodbury, Oakdale, and Lake Elmo. After searching more than 7 similar communities, New Perspective Oakdale won the day hands down. New Perspective is conveniently located and offers an array of activities to bring residents enjoyment. The community is clean and well kept and offers a very comfortable setting for all. But the secret sauce is in the staff. They are nothing short of the most amazing, caring, and professional people you can imagine. The moment we walked in, you could sense a very welcoming setting with attentive and friendly people. My mother has been here two months and has been excellently cared for. All the staff are so kind, respectful, and knowledgeable. It is better than any care I could have wished for my mom. The food is also very good and varied. The staff there, too, is just wonderful. The dining room is open and airy and the tables feature tablecloths and cloth napkins adding to a calming and elevated experience. Pricing is also very reasonable as I compared costs to all all neighboring communities and found the price/value proposition excellent. So, if you are looking for assisted living or memory care, make New Perspective a must-see option for your loved one. You won't be disappointed.

Recently did a tour of the facility and was very impressed. Room sizes were adequate and well designed. I thought the rates reasonable. Team members interacted with residents as they passed in the hall. Meals had variety. Very clean and tidy (I look for dust). We aren’t quite ready for a move yet, but this facility will remain on my possibilities’ list.

I highly recommend New Perspectives in Oakdale as an exceptional option for a loved one. My mother was 92 years old when she moved in after living in the same home for more than 60 years. She had reached a point where she needed the dedicated support that the memory care team provides. While the transition wasn’t easy for her, the staff was incredible in helping her adjust and feel comfortable. She lived at New Perspectives for about a year before her passing late this year. Those early months brought her an unexpected burst of energy thanks to the love, attention, and compassion the staff showed her. It truly felt as though she had gained 20 new family members. During her final months, when she became bedridden, she continued to receive exceptional care. She was always clean, dressed in fresh clothing, her hair brushed, and was treated with unwavering dignity right up to her final day. It was heartbreaking to see how deeply connected the staff had become to her and how sincerely they grieved her passing. She loved to tell us during our visits about the girls, their families, and their lives outside of work. As a family, we were always kept informed, and the team responded quickly and thoughtfully to any questions or requests we had. We feel truly blessed that my mom was able to spend her final year at New Perspectives. If you are fortunate enough to find a room available, I am confident your expectations will be exceeded”not only in the quality of care, but in the genuine love and respect they provide to the people who live there.

I couldn't be more pleased with how my mother was treated at New Perspective. My mother felt welcomed and happy with the staff- who were so caring and kind. She was treated with the utmost respect. The facility was clean and well lit, and absolutely everyone we encountered were so kind and helpful. We occasionally had dinner with our mom amd the food was delicious. I would highly recommend this place to anyone either seeking a place for themselves or a loved one.

Our father lived here for ten months before passing away. His stay at the Waters was a wonderful experience! The office staff, Logan,Jaki, Patty and others were so helpful, friendly and kind! The final three months my father was in the Ponds section and his care takers were wonderful and caring! Their tender care of my father is so much appreciated! As well the nursing staff was always available for his needs. The facility is beautiful, the rooms are comfortable and pleasant. The dining room is like going to a five star restaurant and the staff as well are so pleasant and pay personal attention to the residents. I met the owner of the Waters while getting our first tour and she knows how to run a first class living facility! Thank you everyone for making my dad’s life there so great!

The Waters has been a life savings to our family. My mom has an early stage of dementia, and in her past she had frequent falls. When looking for facilities to accommodate her, she was rejected. The Waters has created a resolution to this situation, and has also created a relationship with her so she feels happy and safe. The staff at The Waters are fantastic!! They also have great activities for their residents!

Not a good experience after move out. Final invoice was a ridiculous amount. When asked for an itemized invoice the finance dept would not respond. I asked again a week later and they would not provide it. The credit that was issued from the previous month was incorrect. My dad was hospitalized and not able to return to his apartment. He paid the last month's rent while not living there. I have yet to receive a return call from the director or the place they hired for surveys. BE AWARE that a second set of eyes should be on the monthly invoice. This wasn't the first time numbers were incorrect. ******************************* I have had nothing but the best experience since moving my parents in over a year ago. The staff are genuinely caring people and easy to work with if there are concerns. The building is very well maintained and kept very clean.

The Waters of Oakdale is fantastic!! The staff is wonderful! My mom has lived there for about a year, moving from Ca to Mn. Before her move, she was a wilting flower and it broke my heart to see her live her golden years that way. Today, she is flourishing! She’s smiling all the time, humming to herself (which always indicated she was in a happy mood) and is definitely more engaging. I can’t thank the staff enough! A special shout out to Sue! She was the first face we saw when my mom moved in and has consistently been a smiling professional that my mom (and us) have grown to love and appreciate! Thanks for all you do Sue!

The Waters is such a bright and cheery place conveniently located near multiple grocery stores and other shopping areas near Highway 494/94 in Oakdale. The room I looked at was filled with such bright sunshine and light, it was almost angelic. The facility was pristine, the hallways were large and easy to navigate, and the building smelled so fresh and clean. I know the residents love the place because my daughter used to work in the dining room and she always said how happy and cheerful the residents were, and the staff was even better. I talked to a couple in the parking lot and they LOVED the Waters and their mother was receiving excellent care. Even though I ended up selecting a different facility, I wouldn't hesitate for one second to move my mother into the Waters, and if it comes time for me to need assisted living, I would definitely choose the Waters as well.

This is a wonderful place! My 98 year old mother has lived there for almost 2 years and has totally thrived! She is more active than she has ever been, has a lot of friends, eats great food and feels very safe and well cared for. There is nothing better than The Waters of Oakdale!

My Mom is really happy at the Oakdale Waters. I think she might be the oldest person there. Everyone is friendly and the help is cheerful. It is also nice to have in house care like hair and feet.

Our first impression of The Waters of Oakdale has never changed. From the greeting and welcome we received, to the absolutely beautiful surroundings, impeccable cleanliness, we immediately knew this is the place for mom. First impressions are sometimes spot on! That was 4 years ago. The Waters Team and residents have allowed mom to flourish in so many ways. With these very difficult times of Covid, they have not only done an amazing job keeping the building healthy, but they work SO HARD to eliminate the lonliness and isolation for these residents. Thank you, thank you Janel and team for your wonderful activities each Wednesday! Our communication with the entire staff is prompt, professional and still personal. Our family is so grateful for the Waters!

Our parents moved into The Waters several months ago when my dad was sick with Alzheimer's. The "perfect storm" of Alzheimer's, selling their home, and COVID-19 made everything especially stressful. From the very beginning, we found the staff willing to balance the challenge of keeping them safe while also being caring and compassionate. Despite the chaos of the pandemic, our dad was able to receive hospice care on site, and died peacefully in his new home, as it should be. We've found the staff and residents to be especially kind in helping our mother move on to the next phase of her life. The building is clean and secure, the food is excellent, and the staff is very friendly. It was one of the best decisions we've ever made.

My Dad stays here, and not only was it highly recommend that he stay here, I highly recommend this place. You can tell that they really care about their residents and they are so easy to work with. If I need senior care someday I hope I can stay here.

My mom was lovingly cared for at The Waters of Oakdale in the Memory Care unit for the past 5 months. From the first day, she was lovingly and respectfully cared for by all who interacted with her. She and our family were treated like honored guests. The staff gets to know each resident and their families and acts as if they've just adopted us. Although Mom recently passed away, we will always be grateful that The Waters of Oakdale made her last months as comfortable as they possibly could.

My Mom & Dad were two of the first residents upon their arrival in Nov 2014. Dad passed away in Nov 2016 and my Mom remains as a resident at the Waters to this day. The staff and property are absolutely top notch, but especially the staff! My Mom loves them and really appreciates how they go above and beyond in making her days bright. The Waters of Oakdale is a wonderful and caring place! Both of my parents lived there up until the time of their passing. My dad lived in Senior Apartments and my mom lived in The Ponds, the memory care unit. They, as well as I, were always surrounded by loving and truly caring staff. The care and attention given by the staff is beyond compare. There were many times staff members even took time on their days off to visit to see how they were doing. The Waters is also filled with delightful residents. It was always a joy to visit and greet all of the lovely people that lived there. My dad likes living here, but the food is not so good. The entire table that he sits with are not very happy. Pretty bad when the chef can ruin chicken. You don't have to contact me cause there has been a few meetings and nothing has changed.

Beautiful property, but the cost was out of this world ! Why is senior housing so expensive ? An average ( retired) person on a fixed income can't afford $2000+ for an rental. We need realistic pricing for folks on a fixed income. I'm not ready for a nursing home or want to deplete my savings just to live in a swanky place.
