Just wanted to take a few moments and share with you the relationship my Dad has built with Lequita. First of all she's a Joy to work with! In the beginning I had my doubts about my Dad being on the memory floor at your Location. But things seem to be better with her helping Our Father. She is patience, kind and helpful with him. The last couple of days she has been able to get my dad out of his room to go walking. I asked if she could Record his day when they walk and She did/ shared a video with me the other day so I was able to post to FB to show my family members how our Dad is doing which by the way is great! She makes sure his bed is made /his room is clean/ she does wash his clothes folds them and puts them away. My sister and I from time to time will take his laundry home as well However with her Help it's getting Less frequent. When she brings his food in she makes sure his tray is in front of him and comes moves it out of his way when he's done! His memory seems to be ok. He has his moments but from what I have seen she really cares about the Residents! She takes the time to make sure they are all ok. Northridge is Very Lucky to have her as part of the Team! The other aides are ok as well. Lequita is exactly the type of person I was looking for to help my Dad So I don't have to worry so much. And I don't now! Also Dr. Cody is a joy to work with! I also want to give a Shout Out to the Rehab Center/ The Aides were great with my Dad! It's a work in Progress with the help from Lequita/ and the aides on the Memory Care Unit our Dad will be ok. Thank you!

We have had a few family members to stay at Northridge through the years and have been pleased with the services. We have had some times of struggles, but Amy Meinecke has been of great help in making some changes to help in the care of our Dad. Amy you have been a blessing and we as a family appreciate all you have done.

Kate Nojd was more than helpful in trying to find a place for my wife at North Ridge.. unfortunately, the facility was too far for me to visit as often as I wanted. Kate even worked with her administration to make it possible for us to afford moving in. Thanks Kate we will never forget you and your kindness...they are lucky to have you helping people. My mom has been at Northridge Assisted living for about 3 years. We have not had anything but a wonderful experience with the staff, the food, the building and the atmosphere of caring. It was separated from the Nursing Home. During the worst of Covid they screwed the doors shut that open a tunnel between the 2 care areas. My mom is 97 and her care needs are changing and she needs more help. The Assisted Living program at Northridge is changing with her and she is still able to live in her apartment surrounded by the things that are important to her. I feel that she is safe there and would highly recommend the facility .

Perfect place for my mother - especially during COVID. The Executive Director Amy is always available to answer any questions or concerns I have regarding my mother’s care. They are quick to action during this pandemic to keep all residents and care workers safe!

Thanks for having my mom at North Ridge we are so excited to see her in her new place and the staff is so helpful
February 2021
My mother has lived at the Residence at North Ridge since March 2019. During that time and most recently, there have been medical concerns requiring attention on an on-going basis and some requiring quick evaluations and decisions by the nursing staff. This past weekend was one of those times. The LPN attending to my mother took quick and decisive action to get the paramedics involved, ensure all information was sent along with her to the hospital, communicated with the family and then took time the next day (during a VERY busy day) to speak with me to answer my questions. We have been very pleased with the caliber of the LPNs and RNs they have now brought into the nursing staff in the assisted living facility. They get to know their residents and, as a result, are in-tune to changes and needs. They have also been extremely responsive/helpful and caring to our family and take the time to address any questions, concerns we have. This past year has been so difficult for everyone and in spite of that, the management team and the nursing staff have still been able to build a much stronger, caring network. We appreciate that!

I am so thankful that my mom is safe and settling into The Residence at North Ridge. As expected it is an emotional roller coaster (for ALL) having to make the transition from her home to assisted living memory care. But through it all, everyone we have encountered from The Residence at North Ridge has been helpful, caring and professional.

My mom was sent to North Ridge for transitional care in November when my dad died suddenly. She has dementia and was hostile and confused, and on top of that, she had Covid. After she stabilized, we decided to try North Ridge assisted living for her long-term care. We were concerned about how she'd take this transition; losing my dad, moving out of the house she'd lived in for 60 years (although she was already having trouble remembering it), and being in a completely new environment with strangers. At first she lived on the quieter side of the assisted living, and although she'd read the paper every day like usual (thank you Erica for helping her get that!), she was restless and wandering because she had nobody to talk to, and she's a social butterfly at heart. So the doctor and staff agreed to move her to the other wing, where more of the people are, and apparently since then she's formed a clique. I have to say the staff has been great with my mom. I don't live in the area, and I've had to rely on them, the medical professionals, and Zoom calls to determine how she's doing. My mom is obsessed with dogs, and Erica brought her dog Joey in to keep mom calm when they moved her from the quiet side to the people side. Apparently she kissed him like crazy. They've asked about her interests and really tried to help her get used to her new life, and they seem to understand something few people do, which is that people with dementia aren't stupid; they're confused. Mom hates being talked down to. I have high hopes that she'll be happy there and make new friends. She was very alone living with my antisocial dad, and although losing him is tragic, in a way, this is an opportunity for her to shine. One piece of constructive feedback I have is that communication between the different departments at North Ridge could be a little smoother. When mom was in transitional care and moving over to assisted living, there were definitely some communication gaps between those two groups, and sometimes there seem to be some gaps between the finance staff and the assisted living staff. It's all resolvable, and the people are easy to talk to and willing to figure out whatever is wrong, but it takes more time. The place is enormous, and a little of this is natural, but it's a place for some improvement.

I have been in the senior living industry for 18 years. I just started at The Residence at North Ridge a month ago. I am so impressed! They have remodeled the hallways that have bright and cheery lighting as well as carpet and vinyl hardwood. The building is so clean and smells nice. For a older building, this building has been maintained. In this time of Covid, activities and dining has temporary restrictions but staff is amazing at connecting with the residents to keep their spirits up. I have only been here a month but my outside opinion is that I would definitely let my loved ones live here!

Let's talk about how they handled the virus. Staff did not start wearing masks until May. And even as recently as a few weeks ago, I observed staff walking around without masks or masks that were not covering their nose and mouth. How many residents died here ? 70. Seventy loved ones that are dead and they died without their families. They continue to treat the residents like prisoners. Even though the governor gave approval for limited visiting for residents and their families, you won't see it here. They management scolds the residents for having family come and wave and talk to them in the parking lot. I believe you can make an appointment to visit your resident for 20 minutes on the patio with a staff person present. I will point out that it is not the residents that infected each other, causing one of the highest death rates in the state of Minnesota. The staff did this. Now the management is holding the residents hostage so the numbers stay low so they don't get even more negative media coverage. The management here cares only about $$$$$. They should make a profit - not on the backs of the seniors and their families.

It is so pitiful that Northridge "employees" left their review to raise the rating. I just about choked when I read the part about fresh produce and delicious meals. Here is the truth: the meat is so overcooked that you can't even cut it with a knife. The meals consist of mostly carbs and there is very little protein. The only fresh produce that I am aware of is bananas. I don't know how they can call the cook a chef - do you think that the employees would ever eat that crap? When residents complain to management about the food, they are told that the food is managed by a separate company. The servers in the dining room do not wear hair coverings. They put their fingers into the water glasses. They have long gross nails. They do not wash their hands. They drive around a garbage cart that is brought to tables where residents are still eating. The dishes and utensils are coated with hard water deposits - not very appetising or sanitary.

I want to thank the staff and management at the Residence at North Ridge for their hard work and care during these difficult times. My mom lived there 2.5 yrs and the care has always been consistent even through this covid. Mom has been safe and well cared for and we never doubted her care even when we couldn't do our weekly visits. I want to thank Amy for her communication and response to any of our concerns and informing us of what changes in policy they had to make due to covid. So thank you Amy! The halls and rooms are always clean and the staff has always been curtious when we visited. Mom has NEVER had one bad thing to say and trust me, she would let us know if she had any issues. Thank you Northridge...

Our mother spent over 2 years at North Ridge Independent Assisted Living. We visited regularly and always felt confident that she was in a good place. While our experience didn't start well, there is a new executive director who has a heart of gold, is very caring and passionate about the residents and her staff. She is always very responsive, quick to return calls, and follows through on concerns. I'm hopeful this is the fresh start North Ridge needs. Thank you, Amy!
