I came here for a quick tour for my Grandfather and was amazed by the staff. The person who greeted me at the door was very welcoming and helped me get to where I needed to be. I witnessed the CNAs taking great care of the residents during feeding time. Andrea was very sweet as our guide and educated me on their facility protocols and procedures. I finished my tour Emily who answered the questions that I had and she made it very clear that their facility was always an option for my family. I look forward to meeting them again!

We had to place my mother in memory care on very short notice due to unexpected events, and I’m so glad we found White Pine! She had previously been at another facility that was not all what it advertised to be, so I transferred her to White Pine because right from the initial phone call they were truthful, caring, and I could tell put time and energy into making residents feel welcome and safe. Becca made the intake process happen quickly and efficiently - we were on a time crunch to make it happen and she went above and beyond to help me get everything done in time. She has been communicative and honest the whole time my mom has been there, and there is no doubt she loves her job and helping this vulnerable population. Every time I visit, my mom is happy and goes on and on about how nice everyone is and how they always help her (and how good the food is). I recommend working with Becca and White Pine if you need to get an aging family member into a care home - they are wonderful!

Our family had to move my aunt into advanced care and honestly we were overwhelmed. We didn’t know what to expect and there were a lot of moving parts. Becca Young, Director at White Pine in Cottage Grove, was the person who helped us get through it. Becca was patient, calm, and really easy to talk to. Every time we had a question (and we had a lot), she either had the answer or knew exactly who to go to. There were multiple hurdles along the way—between scheduling, paperwork, and timing everything right, it was a lot and she kept helping us take the next step without making us feel dumb or like we were bothering her. The biggest thing is she treated my aunt like a person, not a task, and she treated our family the same way. We felt supported the whole time. I’m genuinely grateful for how she handled everything and how much stress she took off our plates. If you’re trying to navigate a transition into advanced care, ask for Becca. She made a hard situation a lot easier for our whole family.

Every time I came to visit, the residents were clearly well cared for, and the staff was always very welcoming, patient, and kind. Josh is wonderful and does an amazing job getting residents engaged during bingo. The director, assistant manager, and nurses were all very helpful and supportive to our family. My mom especially enjoyed Ashley’s cooking even the kitchen manager takes the time to get to know the residents! We really enjoyed spending time in the community.

I want to take this opportunity to share my experience with White Pines Memory Care. My mom has been there for almost 3 years. She has Lewy Body Dementia. A form of dementia that is very challenging due to its complex behaviors. The first 18 months that my mom lived there were not so good. Lots of staff turnover. (Managers, directors, and nurses) Due to the high turnover previous caregivers weren’t held accountable for their inappropriate cares, trying to discuss a concern or issue with a director went nowhere, if and when there was a nurse available she was either trying to push sedating medications or hospice. Sadly this was a difficult and frustrating time. Moving my mom or any dementia resident would not be an easy transition. So I decided to stick it out and hoped things would eventually have to get better. In August 2024 a new director (Becca) was hired. Soon after Becca was hired I started to see White Pines transform into a wholesome and premier place for my mom and all the residents. Her ability to inspire, educate, and motivate all staff is commendable. The occasional times I’ve had questions or concerns she was attentive and mindful. I spend a great amount of time with my mom daily and it’s not unusual to see her there late into the evening. I can genuinely say Becca is a great asset to White Pines. Today I would highly recommend White Pines to any family looking for a memory care facility for their loved one. Thank you to all White Pines staff. I appreciate each and every one of you!! We recently moved my dad into White Pines Memory Care in Cottage Grove, and the experience has been incredibly positive. Becca and Emily made the intake process smooth, caring, and supportive. He was greeted by name at the door, and all the staff-Ella, Skye, Maria, Josh…and the housekeeping team-have been amazing. They've made my dad feel seen, safe, and truly at home. White Pines has been absolutely wonderful to work with to secure a safe and comfortable home for our loved one! Since the first interaction the Director and staff have been absolutely wonderful to work with for the admission process. Navigating the complex system that is accessing care felt so much more manageable with the kindness, patience and ongoing communication as we work towards an admission. Becca and Emily could not have been more understanding and part of minimizing the stress of the transition for our loved one. They worked closely with the hospital and us and were clear in their communication and expectation setting. Mom lived independently at home with her children caring for her until the time my spouse and I had surgeries. We needed a good place for Mom and White Pine proved to be perfect. From the time we first interviewed about the care Mom would receive, until the time of her passing, (she lived a good long life) the staff kept us in the loop as to her care. Additionally, most every time we went to see her (which was often), Mom was clean, her hair was brushed, and she never had the same outfit on two days in a row. The staff was very friendly, and Mom was well cared for. As mentioned earlier, Mom passed while she was there, but she wasn't alone, a staff stayed by her side. White Pine, I can't say enough good things about her care.

Everyone here is super friendly and helpful. It's a nice, clean facility. The director, Becca, has been super helpful. She's always there to make sure things are filled out or to answer questions. They almost made the transition feel easy, something I definitely didn't think was possible.

I am so appreciate of the long-term staffers there and the care they provide to my mother! It’s been quite the journey with the manager and nurse retiring during COVID, but I’m happy to say that they found a winner with Becca. Calling me while sick from home and during the holidays to help with my mom’s transition from the hospital to hospice care just goes beyond. Her caring and commitment to the people has no bounds. I’ve watched many of the staff there stay during some really frustrating times, for all of us, during the many transitions prior. I can’t tell them thank you enough for staying and caring about our family members. They are the reason it is a true home. My father has had many falls. I've seen on video the lack of urgency by caregivers to lift him off the floor or tend to his needs. There seems to be consistent understaffing which could be one of the reasons for that. Nurses and site director (not sure if I am right about the title), have changed twice in less than a year without giving notice as to why. I am not confident that his care is consistent. Some of the caregivers try their best while others could care less. They seem to just want to heavily medicate him to make him quite as his dementia makes him call out for help. Hospice has advised the staff over and over that he just needs to he gently redirected. He graduated from Hospice as in their care he gained weight. Looking for alternate options now.

White Pine memory care is an amazing place, especially during the covid-19 pandemic. The memory care staff strictly follow CDC covid-19 preventive procedures that kept the facility covid-19 free in the first 10 months of the pandemic. The Covid-19 was broken up in the building last Dec – which was the highest new cases month reported in long term care facilities in US. However, the building manager, nurses, activities coordinator and all the caregivers team up, risk their own lives, go above and beyond, take care residents as their own families. They overcome the memory care community living’s challenges, moved the resident around based individual’s condition that effectively minimized the disease spread in the building. They truly treat residents as their own families with dignity and love that most residents recovered quickly. I know my mom would not survive covid-19 without White Pine memory care’s excellent care. The care at Pandemic is the best indication of the quality of a facility. White Pine memory care is the best place for our love ones.

My mom had lived at another memory care assisted living in Woodbury, for more than 2.5 years for Alzheimer’s/dementia. We moved her to White Pine Memory care as Mom and us(her family) were NOT at all happy with her care the previous 6plus months at St Therese. We as her family and Mom are so happy with the care she has been receiving at White Pine Memory care. First of all the staff is amazing from the house manager Ann to the nurse and especially the aids and caregivers that we can see each time we visit mom, love their residents and they love mom! There are too many great, caring Nurses Aides to name but they sit with the residents, they’re always good at redirecting, caring for mom/residents and mom always looks nice and they always inform me on what’s going on with her! Mom moved into White Pine on 7/31, and really she easily acclimated to her new facility White Pine in a week or so. I would not have believed it because Mom is some advanced with her Alzheimer’s to where she cannot really state her needs, nor can she say/tell us as she cannot speak in sentences anymore. But the way she is acting and cared for says it all! Mom has been there about 5 weeks and she is eating and drinking better and overall she looks like she is happy! Many thanks to all the staff at White Pine Memory care in Cottage Grove! ’

We toured several facilities, before choosing White Pines, and we couldn't ask for a better place for my sister to call home! Staff is always friendly and great to work with. Always lots of activities for residents...from getting nails done, to craft projects, and Red Hats. My siblings and I are extremely pleased with the care that our father receives from the staff at White Pine. They go above and beyond to meet our dad's needs. Our father has dementia and along with that, are some unique behaviors that are difficult at times. The staff at White Pine are very knowledgeable and understanding of his dementia. They treat our father with respect and kindness so that he is living his life with dignity. The White Pine facility is decorated with a warm and welcoming touch and is always very clean.
