I truly appreciate the hospitality Mrs.Robbin director of life enrichment showed while visiting this location. She shared projects that she has done with the community and I thought that the career day was very unique and looked fun. You can really see the joy she brings to the community as a whole.

Tom explained everything very well. He showed me all the options for my dad. I really appreciate it. It was clean and lively.

With my Fianc© (Larry Lizewski) getting so worried in finding a Senior Living Home with Memory Care. I am glad that I am able to be part of his support system. After visiting two Assisted Living Nursing Homes (6/17/26) we’re getting a little frustrated until our visit to American House Senior Living Communities. We’re met by Thomas Little and gave a very informative walking rounds of the whole place as well as the benefits and advantages of the possibility of transferring Larry’s Mother - Pat, 92 y/o Polish-American lady, newly diagnose with beginning Dementia. Our conversation with Thomas was productive and him being my fellow US Military Veteran, we both speak the language of SERVICE - helping people and great customer service. It’s always wonderful dealing with people who are efficient, respectable and with a very good heart. Obviously, all of the above mentioned qualities were exhibited by Thomas, in addition of us being impressed with the facility as well as the rest of the staff. Thank for accommodating us. Great job Tom. Hoping that we can transfer Patricia Lizewski in your facility as soon as feasible. Thank you. Happy 4th of July, 250 yrs Anniversary! Analiza Benjamin, NP, RN, MPA, MSN CAPTAIN (ret.) NURSE CORPS, US Navy OEF Veteran

I would like to say I’m so grateful for Thomas walking me through the process in getting my grandma Betty into and settled in her new home. His reassurance and Robin’s big heart has made her first couple of days less scary! This is my grandma first time being on her own and I strongly believe she’s in great hands. If you are on the fence I would suggest visiting the facility. Everyone here is super friendly and they have plenty of activities for the residents. I appreciate you again Thomas for everything! You guys are awesome!!

Community relations director Thomas shows interest and enthusiasm and has a great sense of humor and professional at the same time gave my mother great service. Back in February my mother broke her hip and was unable to move around the nursing team are great Dashawn, Chelsea,Marilynn and to say a few others. And Robin that work in the front office is a great and fun person as well. My mother enjoys the activities there and the PT and OT great. And the food is outstanding breakfast Lunch and dinner. Thank you Thomas for letting my mom have the best experience ever. If you’re looking for a place to stay this is the best and it’s clean and the rooms are nice as well.

We met with Thomas. He is Awesome. Explaining the pricing and all the amenities. We had a wonderful tour of American House of Westland.
May 2026
My dad was 100 years old when he moved to American House. The staff was great. Thomas and Nicole in the front office were so helpful during our entire stay. Thomas was able to get my dad VA benefits as he was a WWII veteran. The food was very good and was delivered by the staff if he didn’t go down to the dining room to eat. Housekeeping came regularly and did a great job. The nursing staff was so helpful and compassionate when he took ill and passed away. Lots of activities going on all the time pretty much on a daily basis. We were very happy with the whole experience and would recommend American House Hunter if you are looking for independent or assisted living!
May 2026
We had to quickly find a new place for our mom due to a fall and upcoming hip surgery. We were already looking into American House and Thomas was extremely helpful. He was helpful providing various programs mom could he eligible for to help with costs. He showed me and my sister several units so we could pick the right one. The building and grounds are maintained very well and super clean. My sister and I feel our mom will love living there. Thank you Thomas for helping make a difficult life event easier.
January 2026
Thomas was attentive, helpful, and kind. I appreciate him going above and beyond to provide me with all of the answers to my questions as I begin this new journey. This seems like a good fit for anyone who may need a small amount of support and assistance, or beyond. The community was clean, spacious, and included lots of amenities such as on site activities, on site doctors and nurses (during certain hours), transportation, as well as a variety options for meals. Seniors ( or families of an elder ) of varied ages and stages of their aging process should take a look at this place as a serious option for living and care as an alternative to remaining at home or going to a nursing home facility.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about American House. The entire community is warm, welcoming, and truly centered around resident care ” but I especially want to recognize Jacob and Erica. Both of them consistently go above and beyond. Jacob is attentive, compassionate, and incredibly dependable. He pays attention to the small details that make a huge difference for residents and families. Erica brings such kindness, professionalism, and genuine heart to her work; you can feel her dedication the moment she walks into a room. Their care, communication, and overall commitment set a standard that every senior community should aspire to. I’m extremely grateful for everything they do and highly recommend American House because of team members like them.

I visited my Grandma in October. The staff was so nice and the facility was keep very well. I got to experience "Happy Hour" and it was so cute! My Grandma feels they serve too much pork. It's cheap but many people exclude/limit it from their diet . The staff is so patient with the residents. Every single one of them spoke to my Grandma with kindness. Our family is huge but they never get sick of us. We know Grandma is safe and happy with her friends there. Robin and Stacey have set the bar high. Thank you!

I would like to give praises to a few people who took care of my dad while he was at the American House on Hunter in Westland. Particularly: Stacy (administration). She was always friendly, easily approachable and always helpful, and 3 particular med tech members: Linda, Ashley and Rhonda. They were so caring , helpful , knowledgeable and took great care of my wonderful dad. Thank you for all you did to help his last days of his final journey. All our love. The ROFFI family.

My mother decided to move back to Michigan this year with about 2 weeks notice. We toured several places but American House Hunter Westland stood out in all avenues. Erica was such a blessing. I immediately felt that this place was a family. The property was so clean and well kept, they had a great variety of activities, an inviting menu, and friendly staff. Our dates changed several times and Stacy was so accommodating. She made sure my mom’s new home was ready for her. We had the pleasure of meeting with Rod, the maintenance person. He made sure everything met our expectations. And it did. The apartment was spotless. It was so impressive! My mom was very excited to meet Robin. She can’t wait to play cards and bingo and do crafts. Robin’s energy is contagious! I’m sure they will be fast friends. And Ruth is always so helpful. I feel like we could go to her for anything. We are so thrilled to be here. Thank you for your hospitality!

My relative moved in about a year ago. When asked "how do you like it here?" The answer is always "I love my apartment and Robbin the activities director is the best". Our family appreciates the care and time that she puts into making sure the residents have plenty of things to do.
August 2025
Alexis at the front desk always has such a great smile and lovely personality. I enjoy going to all activities, Robbin is such and awesome person and great both activities.
August 2025
Robbin and Alexis always make sure my mom is included in all the activities she wants to be active in. The new maintenance guy Rod is accommodating and kind. He replaced the faucet in her bathroom that had been on the list for over a year only after two weeks of working. He is actually here to help the residents and it shows.
August 2025
The activity director Robbin is amazing. She is the heart of the property. She always makes sure the residents have activities and outings that are awesome. Alexis at the front is so sweet. Always smiling.
August 2025
My father relocated here more than six months ago, and it has truly been one of the best decisions we've made. There is always a variety of activities that keep him actively engaged. Robbin, the activity director, consistently plans exceptional events. When my dad had issue, Erica was quick to fix it. Additionally, the staff goes above and beyond to ensure that my father feels comfortable and at home.
August 2025
My parents have been at American House (Hunter) for over almost 3 years. Medical staff members (Ashley, Linda, Rhonda, Tamika... I'm sure there are others) have gone "above and beyond" in providing care for my dad and dealing with my moms behavior, they have exceeded the in their performance. The cleaning staff and the lady that does laundry (don't know their names) do such a nice job, apartment and clothing clean and both ladies are honest in dealing with individual that have memory issues. There was one occasion my mom left her wallet in her pocket and it was washed and dryed. The wallet was returned to me personally, explaining what had happened... EVERYTHING, including about $70.00 cash was intact. The dining room, from the chef to the cooking staff provide excellent service to the residents, delicious food (my parents love the meals) and the dining room always clean. Robin and her assistant do a really nice job in providing entertainment and activities. Overall, the staff takes a personal interest in our family and we appreciate all that you do. Thank you!!

Our TEN STAR Review ********** Approximately11 Months ago (early Sept. 2024), we were seeking an independent living facility for our dear friend, Cynthia R.-T. I chose American House/Hunter as the first facility Cynthia would tour. Dale drove her to see your place. My exact words to her were: "You are JUST LOOKING! DO NOT sign anything, DO NOT agree or commit! There are several more places for you to check out." Little could I have known, Cynthia absolutely fell in love with Hunter House. 1.5 hours later, I received a call from Dale & Cyndy. They were doing their best to 'explain' to me WHY Cyndy CHOSE TO MOVE INTO Hunter House. She was 100% CERTAIN THIS IS THE BEST PLACE FOR HER. Cyndy raved about EVERY.THING. I must say, her joy and excitement made my ears perk up, as well as made my heart very happy!! The apartment was perfect for her. She raved about how welcoming the entry into the facility is, how clean and fresh smelling. Dale and our friend, Tim, moved her in 5 days later, 9/9/25. Far faster/smoother than we ever anticipated! Truly, it was amazingly easy!! Some resident gals invited Cynthia to join at their table and dine with them. Pat, Sue, Mary, and another gal (Sorry, my bad ~ I can't recall her name), readily took her under their wing. They became fast friends! Cyndy also made friends with people who played bingo. Denzel's name stands out b/c he and his S/O were always kind enough to make room at their table; while some others chose to 'hog a table' to keep anyone from sitting there. The 99.9% majority w/in "the community" were friendly, kind, and welcoming, from the start. Stacey, Erica, Robin, are WONDERFUL!!! They're quick to address/fix any issue they see or hear. Everyone is to be treated as HUMAN BEINGS w/ feelings that matter! They will not tolerate less than that, always! Michelle did Cyndy's laundry, changed her bed, folded/hung her clothes. Cyndy spoke very highly of Michelle, and also of the office staff, medical team, cleaning person, etc. A huge thank you to Robin who would often convince Cynthia to join in for day trips. It was so good for Cynthia to get out when she was able! There was never a time that Cyndy was 'sorry' she joined in, she always had a good time and was glad she went. Each of them gave their full attention, worked WITH US so we were all on the 'same page' as to getting all in order to get the absolute best care for Cyndy. We couldn't have done it without them, their knowledge and resources! God Bless you all! Kitchen staff was very good about giving Cyndy her most favorite soup 'to go' so she'd have a snack for later. Being diabetic she always needed to eat before bedtime. Chicken Noodle to the rescue! After trying your broccoli soup just once, Cyndy decided she really does like broccoli !! ~Be still my heart!~ That was a major announcement coming from Cyndy! Before this, it was mostly corn or green beans, only! As of April 2025, Cyndy's health issues grew into much bigger things. From April into July, she was either in the hospital or in rehab. We had great hope she'd manage to gain strength again and return to Hunter House. At each visit, she'd ask "When are you taking me home?" Dale explained she needed to get stronger, she's not able to live on her own right now. We reassured her, we're not abandoning her, no matter what! Jesus called Cyndy Home the morning of July 19th. She passed peacefully. My "sister" of 40 years is forever at rest, and without pain. For this, we are grateful. Forever in our heart, never to be forgotten. Our sincerest thanks to Staff at Hunter House for making Cyndy's life better than it had been for a long while. Each of you went above and beyond, solely for her benefit. We can't express enough just how much you all helped her. ** I'm going to adopt Erica! She's not only a connection to my friend and, Erica has long become a friend to me, as well. She 'gets it', she knows, she definitely understands! ** If I'm ever in need of an independent living facility, Hunter House would my FIRST CHOICE! With love & hugs, Linda & Dale

The medical team afternoon is bla tell their is coming to see about you but go home. Other than that the food is good housekeeping is wonderful
July 2025
My mom moved into this facility 3.5 months ago, and we couldn’t be happier with the decision. We chose it based on several key factors: attentive and compassionate staff, strong and accessible leadership, clean and well-maintained surroundings, catered meals, a robust calendar of activities, and a vibrant, engaged community. From day one, all of these promises have held true”and they've exceeded our expectations. What truly sets this place apart is the genuine care and responsiveness. A recent weekend mishap with an overflowing toilet could’ve been stressful, but within 30 minutes, Rod from maintenance was on site to fix the issue. I was impressed to learn that the executive director, Stacy Griffin, had already been informed and reached out to me shortly after to follow up. Erica was also incredibly helpful in communicating and coordinating. It’s moments like these that confirm Mom is in the right place”surrounded by people who treat her with kindness and respect. If you’re looking for a facility where your loved one will be well cared for in both everyday and unexpected situations, I wholeheartedly recommend this one.

Stopped in to get leasing information. Toured the facility then spoke to Stacey Griffin, Executive Director. We spoke for over 30 minutes. She is very friendly and informative. Explained and discussed all aspects of American House. Felt like I had known her for years. Very personable. While I am not moving at this moment, when the time comes for me to transition, I will definitely choose this to be my home. I felt a sense of relief after speaking with Stacey that my future will be secure, safe, and happy in this community.
May 2025
I attended the open house there, it was a beautiful event and Erica was amazing
May 2025
Ebony the community director was amazing. She was able to schedule a sameday meeting and tour with my family and I. Ebony crossed every T and dotted every I. The facility was resident friendly and clean. Very pleased.
May 2025
I have to say the staff at American House Hunter are next to none! Everyone is so friendly and helpful. My experience with Stacey and Erica have been nothing but a pleasure. They are there to help with no matter what you need or what their residents need. The medical staff is also terrific and very helpful. If you or someone you know are looking for a place to reside please check this location out.
April 2025
Seems like a nice Senior Living joint. Erica was super supportive and appeared to really care about the facility. She invites you to come during mealtimes and sample the food offerings. Rooms are priced based on their proximity to the lobby. The farther away you are, the less expensive the room. They have one and two bedroom apartments. Most have walk in showers, although some have tub/shower combos. Some rooms have a door wall with patio access - again, that costs more money. There is a laundry room for residents on the second floor; or you can pay for them to do your laundry. I'll update this review in the near future.

My parents joined the AH Hunter community a few months ago and we are so happy we chose AH Hunter out of all the places visited. The entire staff, from dining, housekeeping, activities, admin, and Med Team provides great care. They are all attentive to my parents needs and take time to get to know the community and take the extra step to inquire if needed.

My mother-in-law lived here for the past five years, until she recently died. When she first moved in she had a time of adjusting but quickly became happy living there. She made several friends. The staff at the house was very flexible and she made friends with them too. The staff was also helpful to her family's needs. I would recommend the house to others seeking a placed to help their loved one.
September 2024
Even though my mom's stay was brief, I was happy to have chosen American House. The food was delicious, her apartment was nice, and the front office staff was very kind. The aides handled her well, and the cleaning staff did a nice job. The lady doing the laundry went above and beyond when there was an issue. The med staff addressed our needs and adjusted her package to suit. I would recommend American House Hunter.

Stacey, is amazing at running this community. She is extremely compassionate and has the residents needs as a priority. The entire staff is very friendly and professional. There are a lot of activities and functions that they provide for the residents. The food is excellent. It is very clean. Independent living at it's best. May 2023
The staff at American House Westland-Hunter accommodated my mom the following ways: The apartment was fully painted and cleaned before her move-in date. The refrigerator was replaced with a newer model. A brand new remote-control model air-conditioner was installed. My mom didn’t have the strength to operate the apartment’s single handle centerset bathroom faucet. The staff quickly replaced it with a double handle faucet just like she had in her home. The staff brought both her online purchases to her apartment. They placed perishable food items in her fridge or freezer. When it was discovered a particular area of the apartment wasn’t cleaned, the housekeeping staff added it to their to do list for the entire community. Housekeeping arranged their schedule when my mom had visitors or a telehealth appointment during their scheduled cleaning time. The staff gladly used her preferred cleaning products. Laundry took place on Wednesday. Whenever a situation arose that my mom needed her bed linens or clothing washed other than Wednesday, the staff happily did so. The staff used her preferred laundry detergent. Seta, Director of Community Relations, provided amazing service during hours of operation and beyond. We felt like family knowing her. There were times my family and I phoned or texted her cell phone after normal business hours. She answered her phone or texted right back. My mom eats from an organic menu, not what AH offers. Nick, Executive Director, provided a reasonable reduction of her monthly rent to reflect that. American House has a no-smoking policy. They provide outdoor seating areas with ashtrays a distance from the building. My mom moved into AH July 2022. Her neighbor, who moved to AH at an earlier date, smoked in his apartment daily. Why wasn’t this addressed immediately? After a number of complaints, the man and his wife were evicted November (?) 2022. Had the staff responded immediately to smoking violations, I would have given AH a higher rating. I really liked apartment 310. The living room had an east facing doorwall and balcony. The bedroom window faced the south. Both the doorwall and bedroom window had lovely views of trees. Seta, Nick, housekeeping and laundry staff were friendly. Once they got to know my family and me, they addressed us by our names. They created the friendly atmosphere of AH. Seta and Nick did a fantastic job decorating the entrance, lobby and dining room for holidays and special occasions. Residents enjoyed congregating in the lobby, caf© and at the outdoor seating area at the entrance, weather permitting. A sound system in the lobby provided a variety of music. You might see Seta dancing to Peggy Lee’s Fever one day. The entrance at Hunter Avenue was well kept and beautifully landscaped. The entrance to the lobby had colorful flower beds and beautiful planters, all well-maintained. The parking lots and entrances were plowed and cleared promptly during and after a snowfall. Parking lots were resurfaced and old car ports were removed Summer 2022. The flooring at the second and third floor elevators were updated with new tile during my mom’s stay. I liked that not only the staff created activities for the community to bond, that the residents did too. John, AH van driver, provided excellent care as he drove my mom to physical therapy and hair appointments. Finally, I would be happy to recommend family and friends to AH Westland-Hunter.
January 2023
My mom just lived American House Westland Hunter two weeks as short term stay. Before I sent my mother there, I was not sure if my mother would fit in there since she has no any English. Seta is an active problem-solving manager, and she gave me the confidence to have my mom try it out. And finally, we did it. The room is clean, the people is nice and the food is delicious. We appreciate their help and would like to give them 5 stars. I also would like to recommend America House Westland Hunter to my friends.
November 2022
My parents moved into American House Hunter in July 2022. It's difficult to move from their home into their first facility; so many adjustments. It was also difficult to know how to select that facility since this was our first time. Now we know what is most important. Hunter is a caring community of both residents and staff. My folks have fellow residents that are looking out for them, greet them to make conversation and ask after them, attend bible study and meals with them. They feel more connected and less isolated now. The staff is also so patient and compassionate. The Associate Director Seta is a real gem, she is so involved and genuinely caring and compassionate, and is a great resource as circumstances change and we need to access local services. Also my Dad recently started some a-la-carte care services through the onsite provider, The Medical Team. That group of folks is responsive, patient and gentle. And even the kitchen staff has taken the time to get to know my folks and to really care about them. This remains a difficult phase of life for many reasons, but we are glad to be doing it at American House Hunter, and so grateful for the good people there.
October 2022
My sister has been in American House Hunter for about two years. The management and staff are very compassionate and caring. Seta and Nick are fantastic people that care very much about the residents and do everything possible to make them comfortable and feel at home. If you are considering moving to an independent living community I suggest you come here. They also offer assisted living packages through a third-party care provider.

American House Westland Hunter ”- People Matter! American House Westland Hunter is a great place to live and be a part of an extended family. The staff ”- one after another” brings a sense of true care and respect. The management team not only knows your name but who you are as a person. From the kitchen staff to maintenance it’s all very personal and caring not just business as usual. The activity coordinator is creative and fun and is always open to new ideas and encourages them! Maintenance and the House Keeping staff take good care to make life better and even easier by removing a lot tasks that leave time to just enjoy each day stress free. But above all the Director, Manager and office staff set the tone of truly caring and everyday are consistent in making sure everyone is working together to create a family space to live and enjoy. You are truly appreciated! Thank you for all that you do!

5 stars are not enough...they deserve 100 stars! From the moment I walked in and talked with Seta about my father she went above and beyond to satisfy every one of our concerns. Seta felt like family and treated us as such. She has true and genuine compassion, she has laughed with us and cried with us when we lost my dad. Infact there is not 1 thing bad that I could say about this wonderful place, or any of its employees. From the kitchen staff, house keeping, maintance, laundry, administration and Advisacare......I never seen 1 employee not smile, welcome you, acknowledge you, and offer to assist in whatever I or my dad needed. It was very hard for me to place my dad in assisted care, but once I found American House Westland I knew we made the right decision.

This is Wonderful place when you need a place for your mom. Our mom needed help after having a heart attack. Seta was incredible knowing what mom would like! We made it happen on Feb 1st 2021. I would say American House is the best place in town for your love one!

Been visiting with my dad there for the past 3.5 years, I can tell you that it is a clean facility with a well staffed awesome crew. My opinion they could use an extra elevator and a generator.
