Just checked it out and was blown away! I have been in many senior communities but known that felt like this! Staff was happy, relaxed, comfortable with residents and knowing not only names but personalities! The inside has activities and conveniences set up almost like a village! Chatter and noise in the dining room - people LIVING and enjoying each other! Homey and not sterile feeling! No icky smells - well taken care of facility and residents! Met lovely residents sharing their reluctance to move in but nothing but praise now! The individual units are roomy and inviting! It's a must see! I myself shared a desire to move myself in at least 7 times! Wow! Well done Story Point!

My Mom moved into Story Point about a year ago, into independent living. It was a big move for her, but it didn’t take long for her to adjust. The rooms are spacious, updated and clean. The staff is awesome. They are willing to help when needed, and super sweet with my Mom. And they also keep me informed about anything related to my Mom’s care and well-being. There are multiple activities each day for my Mom to participate in…she never misses bingo and always looks forward to cashing in her “bingo bucks” for tasty snacks. Story point also offers a weekly outing to Meijer, along with other outings. The food and meal service is excellent. The setting feels like a quality restaurant with different meal options each day and for each meal. We even had Story Point cater a birthday party for my Mom, and all of her family and friends who attended were super impressed (as was I). While Story Point isn’t the cheapest, the care, staff, cleanliness and overall experience are well worth it.

Quite honestly our experience with Storypoint Rockford was atrocious and my biggest regret is putting my father there in the first place. The mental damage that was done is criminal and the staff thinks they can get away with this stuff because the people are older and so they use “confusion” to their advantage. The amount of turnover is ridiculous and absolutely not ok when in a situation where trust needs to be earned. As soon as you and the resident develop a decent working relationship with a staff member they leave and a new (highly uneducated) person arrives and clearly does not care one iota for the people they are supposed to be caring for. In my experience in life - how the staff behave is in direct line with how they are being treated by the company they work for. Storypoint is either not vetting these people well enough, not giving them proper training or not paying them a decent wage or most likely, all of the above. Storypoint takes advantage of people who are dealing with the pain of watching their older loved ones age in a way that requires more hands on care than most people are able to do on their own so they find a place like Storypoint, pay the exorbitant fees and are hoodwinked into believing they are receiving good care. Thankfully we have removed my father from this abusive environment and he has been doing so much better physically and mentally since leaving that horrific place. NO ONE should have to live out their final years or days in a prison like that. One thing for certain is all of us will at some point in life, face the horrible decision of having to either put someone we love in a home or perhaps end up in one ourselves - I would venture if you asked someone who works for Storypoint if they want their loved one or would they themselves want to end up at Storypoint Rockford? I have zero doubt that if they answered honestly it would be a very loud NO! Whoever is in charge of doing better there - do better! Education, training, kindness and empathy are lacking to a shocking degree.

The rooms are great! The facility is well maintained with a warm atmosphere. You can tell the staff genuinely cares for the residents. They have lots of daily activities to attend and social opportunities. I would highly recommend StoryPoint!

My mother-in-law was married over 60 years and then alone. She was deteriorating alone. Her sis-in-law was at StoryPoint in Rockford so she wanted to give it a try. It was the BEST decision ever! She is LOVING life AND LIVING her BEST life! She loves the community & staff. They do SO many cool.activities (hot air ballon rides, car show, 50's sock hops - outfits provided, carriage rides, bus trips, beach days, bingo, drumming, movies, etc. These are just a few things. She is SO busy that it's difficult to get on her calendar to spend time with her. She is NOT lonely or bored. We appreciate the entire staff from manager to the maintenance staff for LOVING and CARING for our family.

Visited facility for family member and first impressions were clean, nice rooms, a lot for residents to be involved in. The staff ensured everyone was participating in some capacity and the laughter and pure joy I felt made me feel comfortable in placing my loved ones within this facility. Compassionate and caring team of professionals who overcame out barriers and addressed our needs with a very complicated family situation. StoryPoint has the perfect model for seniors to age in place, remain independent while having the resources necessary as their health declines. They helped us coordinate hospice and did whatever we needed to make the transition simple, efficient, and expedient. We are forever grateful this option exists for our two parents.

My mother lived at Storypoint Rockford for over 6 years. The staff there was so amazing! All I can say is that she “blossomed” after moving in there! There were so many activities to participate in and real friendships made! She started out in independent living and ended up having to go to assisted living. ALL of the staff made it so easy to transition! Excellent communication always about her care!I honestly cannot say enough good about the staff, I really miss them and everything about Storypoint!

We recently moved our dad into Story Point and it has been a wonderful experience for both my dad and our family. From our first meeting with Dylan to tour the facility, we knew this was the best place for our dad! The entire facility is beautiful, extremely clean and feels very welcoming. As move in got closer to move in, we met with Chelsea and Amber from the care team to discuss all his care needs. They assured us they would take good care of him and could meet all his needs. The Care Team is absolutely amazing! They are all so kind, patient and very caring. They truly treat him as if he was their father or grandfather. His transition was a little rough at first but they all assured us it was very normal. They showed him extra kindness and care as he adjusted. And, now he is very happy to be there. They have also been very supportive to me as I worried about him and his adjustment. We couldn’t be happier with our decision! My sister inlaw and I joke that when the time comes we want to live here too!

I would recommend StoryPoint to anyone looking for a safe and comfortable place for their loved ones. Nothing but love flows from the caregivers and staff. You really could not choose a better home that cares for your loved ones as much as you do. The caregivers here go over and above their expectations to make sure the residents are cared for and feel at home, whether it’s a hot cup Of coffee or a simple hug , they know it all can mean so much more!

My father lived in this community for 6 years and I can honestly say it was 6 years we wouldn't have had with him if he hadn't moved there. The community of friends he made and staff who loved him was amazing. His social calendar became more busy than mine! He was always out an about - exercise/fitness programs, entertainment days, crafts, movies, men's luncheons, bus trips to different locations and so much more! It truly gave my father great joy to live there and provided us with more time with our dad.

StoryPoint is an outstanding place for residents and the community. I partner with StoryPoint when I bring special needs students in for job training. My students enjoy seeing and interacting with the residents while learning job skills. StoryPoint provides excellent programming including Christmas celebrations, Veteran's Day, and Mardi-Gras. Management has been wonderful to work with and makes everyone feel welcome.

We can't say enough great things about StoryPoint Rockford. The staff is second to none and go above and beyond in everything they do. Each member, from the dining staff to the leadership team, have a vested and genuine interest in the residents. The basic needs of shelter, food and care are exceptional, but what makes this place something special is how everyone tends to the emotional needs of each resident. I am so impressed with StoryPoint Rockford. All the attention to detail really makes you feel as if you are the most important person to them. The staff are friendly and caring! I couldn't believe how clean the community is. I have visited many places and the environment is just sparkling. I was able to sample the food and I was blown away! For a moment I thought I was eating at a Five Star restaurant and not a senior living community. The day I visited the community had a live entertainer and everyone was laughing and having a grand time. I would highly recommend this community for you or your loved one!
