After I lost my driving privileges due to the onset of seizures cause from a stroke, I lived in total isolation for a little over two years. I was encouraged by my health care providers to move into a senior citizen independent living facility. They also suggested to find one that has medical staff on sight with emergency pull cords in the apartment. I found that and so much more, Porthaven Retirement Facility has become a home to me filled with living caring staff and fellow residents who quickly become friends and family. Now I live without isolation and surrounded with many activities I can participate in. Each day here fills my heart with gratefulness and joy. Thank you Porthaven Manor for giving me my smile back.

This is the worst place I have ever lived. They have keys to come into your apartment at anytime even when you are taking a shower. Staff doesn't work the weekends. We even had bed bugs. Two weeks without washers and dryers. We even have some crazy alarm system that keeps going off. Do not move here. You will regret it! I did.

Porthaven Manor is a wonderful place to live. The office staff is wonderful. Auxiliary care offered by Ability Plus is top notch. Improvements could be made in the food service. Apartments are well maintained. They offer many opportunities for community involvement.

My mother loves her apartment, receives excellent care from the Abilities staff, and has been treated so well by Brenda, Debbie and Joan in the office and Lucas from the maintenance team. We are thankful every day for the choice we made for her senior living environment.

I have lived at Porthaven Manor for six months; I can be as involved in the community as I feel on any given day. After the lockdown is over, we can get back to craft and handicraft activities, a library and a get-together at the fireside in the afternoon. Many of us really enjoy the great movies shown in the theatre two nights a week. Residents are friendly and staff is helpful and kind. I walk my small dog here on the property and around the neighborhood. Love my little patio and passing the time of day with other residents.

the activities are many and varied. card groups, pool players, Bingo, Birthday parties not to mention all holidays are celebrated with a party. Dont forget to mention movies in our theatre with fresh popped corn. our activity director Brenda has even kept us busy in our apartments with the lockdown proceeding at a snails pace. we have musical groups every week we arent locked down we go to the casino and frankenmuth,light rides at Christmas and lots of plays. so if you like happy,busy people come here.

Ive never heard of an independent living facility that sounds so fun. Theres always something cool going on at Porthaven Manor. Movie nights, Radio control cars!, game nights, tiki parties. It makes me wanna be 65

Port Haven Manor is an absolutely amazing place for seniors to be able to live on their own. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. They truly go out of their way to make sure that the residents are happy and engaged in the various activities that they can enjoy. I highly recommend that you check this place out when seeking a home for your loved ones.

Porthaven Manor is an amazing community. We have a beautiful property from the finely manicured grounds, to the ecstatically pleasing interior we offer perfection in independent living. There is an atmosphere of being home and a part of a family. The residents make this community second to none. The companionship here stems from our lively activities and travels, and keep the ambiance bright and fun. I am humbled to be a part of such a remarkable entity.

WHAT AN AWESOME PLACE! When we were searching out a place for our dad to move, we were pleasantly surprised to find Port Haven Manor. We looked at many places and often they exceeded dads budget. When we visited Port Haven Manor we were not expecting to find such a warm, comfortable and elegant environment at such a reasonable price. Dad hadnt been keen on moving out of his house--but signed up during his first visit! His apartment is bright, clean and fairly spacious. Dad is a very picky eater and can do his own cooking so he opted out of the meal plan, but it is always an option if he chooses. He has been there many months now and I am so happy he moved in. The staff are all so attentive and helpful. You worry that senior housing might be depressing---just the opposite-- there are so many activities and most of the residents really seem to enjoy the interaction. I would highly recommend Port Haven Manor!
