They are not a good place to bring you elders they are very bad at communication they dont not changeResidence when We’re supposed to they have been breaking. A lot of the hippa roles and the directors there are not very good directors. If you are not in their click, you are screwed or if you’re not one of their family members.

Facility is maintained in a very good and healthy manor. However and assume with other Senior housing complexes some of its Residents are ONLY self reliance on there own and if anything mostly out of complexes control ...But can and should be improved a assumed small percentage of Residents are [mean and uncontrolled] by even simple examples and activities leave other minded and Rule abiding Residents "Threaten" by verbal and even threatening actions! Direct Rules of this need to be noted and enforced!

Porthaven is a very nice place. The staff is friendly, the other residents are so welcoming. I am slowly adjusting to being here. The grounds and apartments are beautiful.

I love my apartment. The maintenance is very good. having a beautician here once a week is wonderful. the interior and outside grounds are kept neat and clean. The activities are extremely good. There is something for everybody to enjoy. The only drawback is with the manager. I had a serious problem with her that has now been resolved. She is very nice to me now. I have had a few conversations with some other tenants who have told me of her going off in a verbal rampage similar to what she did to me. That is elder abuse in my opinion.

After losing my second husband in August 2020 and my first husband in October 2020 who I was still good friends with, I lost a great deal of weight and got down to 105 pounds. My strength and energy were failing and I and my sister decided that I needed to be in a safe environment rather than live alone out on a country road. So we began the process of finding an appropriate location as well as an economically feasible one. That’s when we found Porthaven Manor. I love the beautiful grounds at a perfect location and I greatly enjoy the privacy as well as the community. I’ve made many good friends here and I’m sure these friendships will last a lifetime. The staff is very helpful and more than eager to make residents lives easier and happier. I just moved into a larger apartment and they made the experience stress-free and simple by giving me time to move at my own pace. It’s really helped me as I am physically not able to do too much, too quickly. My cat and I are enjoying the extra space as well as the large balcony we have. Now, he can go outside with me without being in a harness, in a carrier or otherwise restrained and he’s loving it! I think we both have a long and exciting future at Porthaven Manor. Thanks, Joan, Brenda, Lisa, Ashley, Barry, Lukas and the Ability Plus girls for keeping us happy, clean and cared for!

I have enjoyed living at Porthaven Manor for 3 1/2 years. My apartment is perfect for me to have privacy to read, spend time with my small dog, watch videos, etc. When I want to enjoy spending time with others, I just have to go down the hall for morning coffee, afternoon fun and games, Thursday crafts, early evening games and movies on Saturday and Sunday. Every Friday morning there are donuts and coffee, where we sit in the dining room or outside on the patio. There are many off-site trips to restaurants, grocery stores, the casino, etc. If a resident has an idea for something new, it is met enthusiastically. I am probably sounding over-the-top happy to be living where I do. I am! I lived in another senior residence for 12 1/2 years, and I know when I am living in a great place °

After I lost my driving privileges due to the onset of seizures cause from a stroke, I lived in total isolation for a little over two years. I was encouraged by my health care providers to move into a senior citizen independent living facility. They also suggested to find one that has medical staff on sight with emergency pull cords in the apartment. I found that and so much more, Porthaven Retirement Facility has become a home to me filled with living caring staff and fellow residents who quickly become friends and family. Now I live without isolation and surrounded with many activities I can participate in. Each day here fills my heart with gratefulness and joy. Thank you Porthaven Manor for giving me my smile back.

This is the worst place I have ever lived. They have keys to come into your apartment at anytime even when you are taking a shower. Staff doesn't work the weekends. We even had bed bugs. Two weeks without washers and dryers. We even have some crazy alarm system that keeps going off. Do not move here. You will regret it! I did.

Porthaven Manor is a wonderful place to live. The office staff is wonderful. Auxiliary care offered by Ability Plus is top notch. Improvements could be made in the food service. Apartments are well maintained. They offer many opportunities for community involvement.

My mother loves her apartment, receives excellent care from the Abilities staff, and has been treated so well by Brenda, Debbie and Joan in the office and Lucas from the maintenance team. We are thankful every day for the choice we made for her senior living environment.

WHAT AN AWESOME PLACE! When we were searching out a place for our dad to move, we were pleasantly surprised to find Port Haven Manor. We looked at many places and often they exceeded dads budget. When we visited Port Haven Manor we were not expecting to find such a warm, comfortable and elegant environment at such a reasonable price. Dad hadn't been keen on moving out of his house--but signed up during his first visit! His apartment is bright, clean and fairly spacious. Dad is a very picky eater & can do his own cooking so he opted out of the meal plan, but it is always an option if he chooses. He has been there many months now and I am so happy he moved in. The staff are all so attentive and helpful. You worry that senior housing might be depressing---just the opposite-- there are so many activities and most of the residents really seem to enjoy the interaction. I would highly recommend Port Haven Manor!
