Our family feels love at Bickford Of Okemos Mom has a traumatic brain injury from a car accident, and they recognize that her situation is different than a more usual type of aging. She can't hear very well, so she can't interact as much as she might, but they seem to know her personality deeply. Mom doesn't like to participate in group events very often. Therefore, they help us arrange for her to regularly join family for lunch at her favorite restaurant. They also know she likes music so they will work extra hard at getting her out of her room when there's music going on. We have never regretted once our choice to place mom at this caring and lovely facility. She moved in at the end of January 2020, and she just had her 90th birthday. She never got sick when Covid was really scary. Overall, 100%! We love Bickford!

The Director Jennifer and nurse Grace, have made the branch a compassionate and loving home for the residents. The branch is clean, and full of positive energy. I would highly recommend Bickford of Okemos!

Wonderful staff here that really care about the residents and have their best interest at heart. From the beginning when you work with the Family Advocate Kyle and the Nurse Grace, til after move in working with the Director Jen, everyone is so great! The entire team here is top notch!

The leadership always goes above and beyond to make sure your loved ones are provided the best care and they feel at home. Staff provides professional and personalized care to residents in a clean and warm environment with activities as well as good communication to family. Dad is happy and safe there.

While I can't comment on a resident experience, what I can confirm is the incredible amount of help, knowledge, and willingness to assist from the executive director (Jennifer Mullin) and Health & Wellness director (Grace Keenan). My family found ourselves in an unexpected hospital discharge situation that led to me calling several assisted living facilities in the area to get help with the "options" questions not being answered by the hospital. Jen and Grace spent nearly an hour with me answering questions, giving me a tour, providing me with literature, and confirming they have room there if needed. While the decision made was to keep my mother-in-law home, we would not have hesitated at all in moving her into the Bickford. Jen and Grace are great "faces" of this facility and I would strongly encourage you to talk with either one of them when having to make a difficult life-transitioning decision for a loved one.

During this covid time somethings happening that's not right . Family member says food is not good. Activities lack in Many ways . Scheduled visit appoints being changed regularly . Can't get a straight answer from staff members . Staff and patient comments don't match at all!!!!!.

I have lived here for two years. My experiences have been very positive from the activities to meals to the people who work there. I have a great apartment AND my roommate is my wonderful cay, Misty. Lots of great activities and Ive made great friends.
