Waste of time and gas to tour this place. Ignore the internet positive reviews and false advertisement this place definitely is using to make this business seem legitimate. After a tour of this building which is outdated, and over priced since there are NO AMENITIES HERE. The "Owner" , a guy who was very over the top in his sales pitch and skirted around our questions, he did not actually answer any of our questions . The "Owner" the guy kept insisting this place was BETTER THAN ANY OTHER PLACE IN MICHIGAN , WE DID NOT SEE ANYTHING THAT MADE THIS PLACE STAND OUT IN A POSITIVE WAY! Our opinion of this place is this , KEEP LOOKING , THERE ARE BETTER OPTIONS OUT THERE!

Toured recently. What a waste of time. Dated building. Depressing Decor, none of the description on line for this place exists. No one was doing activities and there were no signs of amenities. We were told they have bingo and music in the very dated dining area and that if my family member needed transported there is a small bus that the residents use for a fee. We were also told with added costs not included in the monthly cost that the Actual Monthly cost would be significantly higher than we saw on line. I asked about nurses in the building and was told that they call them aides or care givers because none of their staff is licensed in the medical or nursing fields. This was a waste of time and nothing about this place gave me any indication that my family member would be safely cared for , especially since the staff are not licensed to give care to my family member. My advice , KEEP LOOKING !

I am very disappointed in this facility and the recent happenings with staff. I over looked some of the obvious over selling this place does in it's original touring and internet description. This facility finally had an aid that was not only good at the job but was also educated in nursing and care . I have been asking where this person is for months and was told by another aid that she no longer works here and she was fired for not cleaning or doing the nails of residents. That is an out right lie. I witnessed the cleaning she did and crafts she did with residents and she did the crafts on her time coming in early to do them . She did nail cleaning and painting also , she painted a residents nails to match her hat , it was lime green. This facility definitely needs to rethink why they would fire a worker like that and keep uneducated people who just sit around on their phones most of the time. It really is disappointing and discouraging. My family is looking for alternatives.
June 2024
Am I going crazy or is this place going down hill faster and faster. The food choices are horrible, there is no "transportation " , there is the mini bus that they charge the residents for transport. There are no " outings " unless you consider being taken outside to walk around the building when it's 75° or higher outside. The building has no cleaning staff , it is one lady every Friday mainly doing the main halls , the rest of the time it was 2 aides on 2nd shift who were always cleaning the assisted side. 1 was terminated and the reason given was she would not clean , I was witness to her cleaning and showing the other aide what to clean with what products. This place is UNBELIEVABLY MISS MANAGED AND UNDER STAFFED!
June 2024
OVER PRICED , UNDER STAFFED, THE STAFF THE FACILITY HAS ARE N O T LICENSED CARE GIVERS , THE LICENSED CARE GIVERS WERE TERMINATED FOR KNOWING TOO MUCH, THE FOOD CHOICES ARE HORRIFYING AND THE MEDICATIONS BEING PASSED ARE OFTEN FOUND ON THE FLOOR, IN FURNITURE, IN RESIDENTS BEDS SO WHO IS MAKING SURE THE RESIDENTS ARE GETTING THEIR MEDICATIONS, THE OWNERS MAKE SURE THEY BILL FOR EVERYTHING ELSE!
May 2024
Horrible Food. No menu options or choices, very poor selection for what this place charges. Staff - supervisors, managers, owners especially seem very fake and unbelievably non helpful. The Aides that they do have seem over whelmed, untrained and insecure in their own knowledge. There were Aides who were very knowledgeable and genuinely concerned with the care of the residents. They are no longer there . Does state inspections actually happen in this place??? Why are there so many items that require electricity plugged into strip cords in the rooms and are electric heaters really allowed to be in resident's rooms??? Seems like fire hazards to me ? May be someone should address those items ?
May 2024
4 out of 5 of the 4 and 5 star ratings are from current employees , their husband's and friends. This place is FAKE , nothing is as described in the advertising on line. It is horribly over priced, they advertised licensed staff but that is not true, the staff are glorified baby sitters that this place just turns over like a revolving door. If an actual health care educated person does get hired here they are soon terminated because they are a threat to the owner . They will point out issues and lack of knowledge and then get terminated for it.
May 2024
I really feel sorry for the residents in this facility. It is not as described. Everything is ala carte in this facility. The protective briefs, wipes, their chosen doctor who visits the facilty and actually does nothing . The residents get charged when this particular doctor comes into the building and the resident has no idea the doctor is coming until the doctor shows up. Then the resident is billed for the visit. The food is horrible. This facility does not offer meal options . There is a menu made out a week at a time and it is so predictable, casseroles, and any other pasta related thing they come up with. Once they served walking tacos when I was there and it was so sad. The residents were not offered salsa, sour cream and when they asked for it they were told that they were not at a restaurant. The taco was crushed nacho chips with hamburger and cheese . The owner is so profit hungry that the Aides were told the paper napkins cost way too much. They were switched for cheap , polyester napkins that the Aides now have to wash 3 times aday. Electric , water and the extra use of the machines to wash these items actually cost more than the Paper napkins. It is a very disappointing place.

Why are all of the BEST AIDES disappearing from this place? It seems the better they are at the job the more likely they will be terminated. It is saddening that my relative got very attatched to an Aide and then they were no longer there and this one was FANTASTIC!

We were in town to visit our 93 year old grandmother and joined her for lunch in the dining room. She lives in the independent living area and I was very impress with the food, service, facility, and friendliness of the staff and residents. The owner was present and showed sincere respect and love to his residents. My grandmother has made many great friends in the last 10 months and enjoys her balance between independence and security. Thanks for all you do.

We used Village Services In Home care for over a year and they did a great job of taking care of our dad. They went the extra mile, including having the owner drive the caregiver out to my dad's home during a major snowstorm to insure her safety as well as our dad's.
August 2022
We recently moved my Dad into assisted care and my Mom into independent living at Village Manor. We and (THEY) are so impressed by the staff, who go above and beyond to assist in the the care they need. This facility and very friendly staff has put our family at peace after being in and out of other facilities. We are Very thankful!

I started working with Village Services December 21, 2020. The Village is a nice place, I would not hesitate to place a loved one here for short or long term care. Dan and Lisa McKinnon are caring people. They genuinely care for clientele and staff, you are not a number.

We toured village with my grandmother in the newer facility and the owners seemed invested and very thoughtful! My grandma didnt even live there yet and she said it felt like home.

Great place to work, very caring knowledgeable staff, beautiful new facility, caring and compassionate owners. The owners live onsite and have dedicated their life to this business and to the residents. They are working, helping and are there to answer questions 24-7. You can see that the owners want the absolute best for the residents and take care of them like they were caring for their own parents or grandparents.

Facility is beautiful. Newer facility with new staff and they have been awesome! I would easily want my loved one here. The owners have been nothing short of amazing! They go the extra mile to make the environment joyful and positive for the staff and residents. The attention and detail they put into each resident is unending. I cant think of better people to work for or a better place to work at.
