I can't say enough about Woodhaven's care & facility. My mom became a resident while healing from a broken back, age 92. A very well run & clean facility inside and out. Had the pleasure of working with a lot of people on my mom's care team. Respectful, knowledgeable, and very caring. I recommend this facility to anyone looking for top notch care for a loved one, whether temporary or permanent. Many thanks to all staff! Our family is grateful!

My husband, Matt, has been in Assisted Living at Woodhaven for almost a year. He receives very good care from the Nurses and Aides. He is mostly bed bound, so he doesn't make it to the Dining Room for meals or activities very often. He enjoys all the visits from the Activities Staff who always stop by to say Hi! or bring treats, puzzles or reading materials. He enjoys most of the meals very much, especially soups, desserts and various ethnic foods. He is not always in the best of moods, but I truly appreciate the care and attention he is given, especially since Covid changed our world and made life much more difficult. You are ALL Heroes!!!

Don't walk away from this place you need to run from this place as fast as you can for your loved ones sake. The care given to my grandma was pretty good while she was doing good at this facility. The care greatly went downhill when she was put on hospice. This place is not where you want to be if you're on hospice, believe me! During her final days, it was very tough to find any employee that knew what they were doing, and they seemed incompetent. There were a select few employees that were great until the very end. I feel sorry they have to work at a facility like this. Once my grandma passed away my family was shocked that not a single administrator from this facility, reached out in any such way to say they were sorry for our loss. It seems like all they're concerned about is getting your money. UPDATE!!!!! The director of the facility contacted me after posting this review and he is looking into my concerns.

This not a place to pass off your loved ones to be taken care of…this THE place to invest your loved ones to be nurtured, watched over, cared for and loved. These folks are not staff, but servants at heart, and friends who are so valued and appreciated. Thank you team for loving on our Mom, Grand-mom, and Great Grand-mom!

UPDATE**Mom passed here yesterday am.There was no sympathy by nurse when we had to hit the dreaded nurse button. In she comes "ok We have to come in to clean her then".Not I'msorry. Not do you need a private room for a minute?Need water?Nothing. Not even eye contact.Tho we couldn't see/our eyes were filled and swollen. These pple were insenstive and rude. My sister,an RN Mgr. for home care co. herself, was appalled. No one helped us to put her body on gurnee except the driver.Or to just stand by us with direction. No one showed him how to find her room.No one gave us bags to pack her things. No one even spoke to us after she passed. It was horrible. Her passing would not have been nearly as traumatic her4 girls if not for this horrble treatmnt. Some of the aids and a few nurses were wonderful at first, few the whole time.a few didnt like when we asked for help. Arguing, saying the nurses were mean to them when a call button went off.Nurses were hot and cold. We depended on them for meds mostly and some(very last nurse)would walk in; shoot medicine in her mouth and walk out.Maybe 2 words. No eye contact.Had 0 compassion-Sat/Sun pm/am. Feb 12 Mom died at 5:30a. The most important issue I had; she shared the hall with the memory care(dementia)patients who are only doors down.Who walked around yelling in the halls;right outside my dying Mom's room and, came right in to my Mom's room climbed into her bed (hurt her)!To avoid this herroom is locked from inside so that in her last days;we would walk around to find someone but usually someone is right there. I thought it unfair these mem patients couldn't be locked to an areaand Mom has to be; tho I DO get that can't be done legally and morally.(&door opens from inside if you are mobile)But her door couldn't be left open in anyway.what if she had to yell for help?No one would hear her.She couldn't push the button. They need to SEPARATE the mem care patients from the Dying Patients. PERIOD. Last week a patient was screaming in the hallway outside our door for awhile before anyone did anything. Then another lady was banging on my Mom's door and trying to get in I told her to go away and she tried to push past me. (I feel terribl)One lady in the hall actually took ALL her clothes off in front of my 7 yo nephw.Pple should be monitoring this hallway at ALL times many people. Not 2 who have to also do everything else for pts.//AFTER REVIEW was seen"Mgmt" must have gotten alarmed and reportedly told aides they have to watch the loose pts all times.I could tell the aides were stressed. We felt the change. Suddenly we were given full food carts.Aide told me she had never seen that in 1.5 yrs. Hrs b4 mom's death an activities dir. confronted me in the commn area while trying to comfort my stepdad who I hadn't seen for yrs.She kept telling me how they read to her when we are not there.I said ok.-I havnt seen him in yrs we were in mid-cry.She repeated and I said well someone is almost always here so unless you read to her in the middle of the night. She said well"No"again it's argue time"well we did yesterday." "That was the only time Mam I'm sure.but thank you"(can't you see we crying here)..I have no idea why you are telling me this now she is actively dying. It was a cleanup campaign I feel.Where was she 2mos ago.Right after my review posted Mgr came into room-I was leaving.I did talk to him about the noise and "walk ins"to my Mom's room and I did say I would do review ahead of it. He was not happy I did it said he will address/I doubted these issues would be fixed in time for the next person who takes my Mom's room in her condition let alone for us.He cited the fact that "I" want door be locked at all times.(not him/them)What choice did we have? That shouldn't be an option. There shouldn't be that threat at all! I recommend separating the dying patients to their own space. So fams like us can be in peace. He talked about just moving my Mom.Like she's the prob.I told him she won't survive being moved. How does he not know this.I don't want the next occupant in this condition and family to feel this way.Note: Our Hospice Nurses from Heart2Heart were fantastic. And 1 in particular vouches for the nature of the night nurse (Fri 2/9 '23)She was requestng a med order. Her words were"she was very nasty to me". Sorry just advocating for them too//Take care and if you are looking for hospice for a dying loved one..I'm SO SORRY FOR YOUR PAIN.ITS SO HARD.MAY YOU GAINPEACE AND GUIDANCE & I SEND MY LOVE AND PRAYERS. 🙏❤️

The nursing staff was wonderful. Most aids were great, but keep your eyes open. There are a few who cant be trusted. Stay on top of everything. The place is clean the food ok. The director doesnt seem to be on top of things. Would rather believe the staff than the patients or advocates. The most important thing I would stress is they have a cold heartless doctor. He doesnt read the advocates directions. He takes it upon himself to decide what your loved one needs. I still to this day feel he overdosed my mom with morphine. Granted she was sick. He had orders not to change her meds without conferring with me. He proceeded to give her morphine without even a call. He stole my mom and I having a final talk. My mom was very much with it right to the end. No one explained anything to me. I finally asked for her records. Beware of Dr. Nandish. hats all.

Ive worked at many nursing homes while being a CNA and I have to say that this was the only one the consistently kept supplies, linen, events for staff and thorough meetings to better the environment of not only the staff but the residents we care for. Janet is constantly progressive and wants new ways to improve the facility and I appreciate that because that means she listens to our opinions and thoughts. Rarely did I feel stressed enough to not give a resident a smile because the team felt supportive enough to help and thats definitely decreases CNA burn out (which has happened A LOT for me).

We are so pleased with the personal attention and quality of care mom consistently gets every day! The staff makes an effort to get to know each resident. We couldnt be happier with all the activities Woodhaven has to offer. We are relieved that our mom is happier and feels safer than she felt at another skilled nursing facility. Mom loves Woodhaven!

Woodhaven Retirement Community is a wonderful place! My Mom has been there for almost a year. I cant say enough about the great care and compassion she receives from everyone at Woodhaven. From the management team, who knows her by name, to the excellent care provided by the nurses and caregivers. I would recommend this place to all my friends, co-workers and family.

Best place to recover from a complicated injury (mine was an open leg fracture) - always patient nurses, fun activities, excellent meals. Also made friendships that continued long after my time there was complete. I took a lot of comfort in knowing a dear friend who resided in a Woodhaven Assisted Living apartment had the absolute best quality of life in her final months, weeks and eventually days with care tailored just for her provided in deluxe accommodations.

I have had a family friends father have a stay at Woodhaven Retirement Community and he received excellent care! The staff was attentive and answered his call light promptly and not only that the nurses and aides along with dietary staff and housekeeping were always caring. The food was also good and they accommodated anyway they could for him. It is a cozy homelike environment and not like a hospitaland it sits back in a beautiful wooded area too. If your loved one needs a facility to rehab in Woodhaven would be the one for sure! We appreciate everything they did!

Woodhaven is caring and compassionate. Not only did they provide Mom with the therapies she needed, they also kept her busy with games, current events and field trips! They are truly a community! When her brother died. they made sure she had support and got her ready (hair done and all) to be able to attend visitation at the funeral home.

My mom was placed here after her hip replacement surgery. This place was awesome! They are an extremely well coordinated team .Their social worker down to the nurses and administration did a great job of taking care of my mom. They knew who she was before she arrived. They review everything with the family and kept me in their communications. The patient is well cared for. I cannot express appreciation enough. Thank you Woodhaven. Thank you.

I live in the Woodpointe independent apartments. Moving here 6 years ago was a wise decision; no more stairs to walk on my arthritic knees. Washer, dryer in apartment, only 22 apartments so Ive gotten to know all my neighbors, good food, monthly activities, beautiful grounds for walking, a great place to live.

My 95 year old mother has been at Woodhaven RC for just over a year now. Prior to that she had lived at two other facilities in the area. By far Woodhaven has given her the best care and living environment. Prior experiences: frequent staff turnovers. Woodhaven experience: stable, caring staff. Prior experiences: it is a business. Woodhaven experience: were a family. Prior experiences: located on a busy street where all you hear and see is traffic racing by. Woodhaven experience: Quiet, wooded location where you watch the deer stroll by.

My siblings and I moved our elderly parents into Woodhaven in 2014 after being on the wait list for some time. We were fortunate in that an independent living apartment opened up soon after an accident that our mom had necessitated a move. We ended up using their rehabilitation facility for my Mom prior to her permanent move to her apartment. The entire experience from our first contact with Woodhaven, periodic updates, renovation of the available apartment and finally the move were absolutely 100% professional and seamless. The staff has been attentive and kind. The facility itself is also top notch with well kept grounds and a spotless interior. Thank you Woodhaven!

I am a retired RN and 4 years ago I was looking for an assisted living facility for my 94 year old Aunt. I looked at many facilities and chose Woodhaven Retirement Community. I am so glad I did. She has now been living there for these past 4 years. She has lived in the Assisted Living area, the Skilled Care area (Health Services) and is now living in the Enhanced Assisted Living area (Memory Care). She has had many changes in her condition throughout the years and Woodhaven has been able to accommodate all of her needs along the way. The staff members have all been great. They know how to work with the elderly resident population very well. The dietary staff is also very professional. They take pride in their work and get to know the food likes and dislikes of each individual resident. As a bonus – the food is excellent! The administrative staff is extremely responsive to any issues that need to be handled at a higher level, and are wonderful at making suggestions to make your loved ones stay more pleasant and personal. Even the Housekeeping and Laundry service personnel l are exceptionally meticulous in their work and very respectful to the residents. I could not be happier with the choice to move my Aunt to Woodhaven and I would not have any problem recommending Woodhaven to anyone who is looking for any level of living for their loved one.
