Reviews Preferred Care at Home – Lansing, MI
October 2024
I called several home care agencies in the Lansing area searching for someone to assist my elderly parents with transportation and light housekeeping tasks. I chose PCAH because after speaking with the owner [name removed], I felt that they were most able to provide care. [name removed] was willing to put their needs first in matching them with a caregiver and was personable and responsive on the phone prior to beginning care. The caregiver spent more time on their phone than engaging with my parents or caring for their needs, did fine when told what to do, but wasn’t really able to be proactive in helping without being asked. Then after just 3 days, they quit without notice, leaving my parents without transportation to a doctor appointment. [name removed] initially said he would find a replacement, but then stopped responding; he has not responded to my emails or returned my parents’ phone messages. I am disappointed; I question the entire industry’s business model of low wages that result in low commitment.

I needed help for my Grandfather who had fallen and broken his neck. The staff at Preferred Care at home met with me the very next day! After our meeting, Preferred did a fantastic job picking who they thought would be the best fit for my grandfather, instead of just putting anyone there. Their prices are beyond fair, the caregivers are great and very professional, and if I have a problem, I can call at anytime during the day or night and get a response almost immediately. I 100% recommend Preferred Care at Home for any care needs.
