My Sister and brother in law are currently living here, the staff are all very AMAZING they are all so loving and caring. This place is kept SO clean, so are their livling quaters. I'd recommend this place to anybody that wants to live in a happy place. Jeannie

Thank you so much for all the fantastic care, wonderful staff, and the residents are so nice. I really enjoyed my stay here. I made many friends and I am shy by nature. Our medicine is always on time. Housekeeping is superb. I really enjoyed all the fun activities mostly bingo, Holland State Park, the car show, and the baseball game. I will recommend it for anyone looking for assisted living. The rooms are spacious. They come with a bed, a new television, an armoire, microwave, mini fridge, and bedside tables.

My daughter transitioned to Walnut Ridge after leaving the hospital. The staff were incredibly helpful in preparing for her arrival, helping her fit in and come to really enjoy all of the caring people there. Kind, considerate, happy people along with residents that love living there. Many fun activities attracted her from staying in her room all day. The facility is extremely clean, beautifully decorated and maintained. She really enjoyed her time there

I am pleased to share my heartfelt experience with Walnut Ridge Assisted Living, where my mother found a wonderful home for her final living experience. From the moment we walked through the doors, we were welcomed by a warm and caring atmosphere that truly sets this place apart. The staff at Walnut Ridge are exceptional. They are attentive, compassionate, and genuinely devoted to the residents' well-being. My mother received incredible care throughout her time there, and I will forever be grateful for the love and support they provided. Even during her final days, they showed her the utmost respect and kindness, ensuring she was comfortable and surrounded by love. The facility itself is clean, comfortable, and feels like home. The dining options are excellent, with a variety of healthy meals catered to different dietary needs. My mother enjoyed trying new dishes and appreciated the care that went into every meal. Overall, I cannot express enough gratitude for Walnut Ridge Assisted Living. They provided my mother with a loving and supportive environment where she could thrive. It brings me great peace of mind knowing she was in such capable hands until the very end. I highly recommend Walnut Ridge to any family looking for a nurturing place for their loved ones.

My mother resided at this facility for 1.5 years before her passing. The facility itself is very nice and the rooms good size- more like studio apartments however housekeeping was poor. My mother's room was frequently dirty. High staff turnover, both clinical and direct care, with a general lack of initiative to do anything more than what they had to. In fairness there are a few staff members who are excellent and the home administrator, if it is the same one, was working hard to try to improve things. Food overall was poor and we kept food in my mom's room to ensure she had something to eat because of this. She frequently struggled to find a worker who would take the time to heat something up for her. Staff were much more attentive when they were aware of my presence. There were several times that a family member would slip in and noted the lack of response from staff until they knew someone was there. When her health declined I was frustrated by the difficulty in trying to get staff to respond to her increased level of needs. She needed assistance transferring to and from her wheelchair which wasnt always provided. She took a fall and took a bad turn. My mom passed in less than two weeks. When we went looking for staff assistance it was not uncommon to find them sitting in the hallways on their phones or several congregated in the break room at one time. I want to give specific kudos to Bob, the maintenance man, who made it a point to stop by my mother's room, would heat something up for her or would bring her a hot coffee and a little something to eat. His kindness and caring made her day. Also the staff person who came in on their day off to give her the bath she didn't receive and the staff who would bring her something special back when he went out for his own dinner and breaks. Some good people who made a difference for her.

My mom is a new resident in walnut Ridge assisted living. The place is absolutely beautiful inside and out and so far the staff has been more than accommodating. My mom has her very own room. Complete with a little kitchenette that has a small sink, microwave and refrigerator. There's also a cupboard where she can store cups plates etc. She was provided a bed, and a night stand. Plus a 42" (I think) t.v. that's on the wall. Her room also has a good sized closet with mirrored doors,! The room is private and like her own little apartment. Honestly, I couldn't think of a better place for her. I could go on and on. The residents have scheduled activities.... Just see for yourself! Check out my pics!

Ok, in the interest of full disclosure, these folks are customers of mine, so make of this what you will. I was a paramedic for years. As any medic that has worked in the field will tell you, you can judge the general health of residents by the smell of the place when you walk in the door. The worst places smell like a GI bleed. Better ones smell like bleach. When I arrived today for a service call, the entire place smelled like a home cooked meal. I realize that it was just after lunch, but still, the place is clean and neat. They make a good impression.

We toured this facility with Diana, as a memory care option for my mom. Diana was wonderful! Her passion for her job was evident. The other staff were friendly and engaged with the residents. The facility also offers a great feature in their memory care wing Locked doors that open with an app so family can come and go while keeping residents safe. While we ended up going in a different direction, they would have been able to transition my mom quite quickly and smoothly.

My brother is a resident of Care Cardinal in Kentwood, MI. I have to say that the caring and kind staff are the best. So hopeful when the new owners - Care Cardinal - arrived with promising improvements, it has not happened. The residents meals lack any flavor and nutritional sustenance. The cleanliness has not improved and while they have increased the care staff unfortunately, residents who do not speak Spanish, are unable to communicate their needs. We landed in this facility when there were no other options available during Covid. It has gone from bad to worse to this. I must say; I expected better from a local company (this was their soap box in the beginning - we live in GR too) maybe the owners should visit, have a meal!

My mother has been a resident of Azpira Place of Breton for the past 2 years and recently transitioned to their Memory Support. We have been truly blessed with amazing staff who have shown compassion towards my mom since day one. Even during this difficult journey with dementia my mother has been able to maintain her dignity and still always has a smile on her face. When we toured the memory support a few weeks ago we were very impressed with the program and how content the residents were. We look forward to visiting mom this week. Thank you to everyone who has helped us on our journey.

I visited 8 assisted living facilities to find placement for my brother. Sandra Rodriguez met me at the door of Azpira. While the facility is lovely and offers all the amenities as other assisting living locations.. it was the warmth, friendly and easy-going attitude of the entire staff that impressed me. There was no hard sell, no pressure... just a stroll thru Azpira and rooms as Sandra, clearly proud of what Azpira can offer, addressed my concerns in an incredibly accommodating manner. No potential problem could not be solved. Sandra and the Azpira staff is why I chose Azpira as my brother’s new home.

My advice to anyone looking at Azpira Place of Breton - especially in the Memory Care wing - to scratch them off and look elsewhere. My husband entered the unit reasonably functional physically - with severe dementia. Over 6 weeks he experienced an unknown number of falls - one which caused a chronic brain injury - and the last which resulted in a difficult hip fracture and stitches. In spite of the known fall risk, the staff failed to monitor his movement to prevent them. Either Azpira Place / Memory Care operated through this time frame severely understaffed or critically untrained - failing to meet the needs of all their 20 residents. ER Physicians declared my husband frail, undernourished and lacking in personal hygiene. The staff ignored his hip fracture and obvious pain - perhaps for days - until our son INSISTED the RN take a look. Finally he was sent to the ER. I have requested the log of his incidents, his confrontations, his medications, their responses, their notifications, etc. Even an attorney's demand has been ignored. What are they hiding? Our window visits revealed bruises, cuts, scabs, facial hair, dirty clothes, etc. His right hand was swollen and bruised for several weeks after being squashed in a doorway. By the time we were seriously considering a move, his time was in the hospital. Ultimately, he passed away from the brain trauma. In my opinion, lack of proper monitoring and untimely medical attention accelerated my husband's demise. An educated conclusion cannot be determined because to date Azpira Place refuses to divulge their records of my husband's care and incidents. My personal experience with Azpira Place of Breton ended in catastrophe and immeasurable grief. I'm attempting to spare another family from a similar experience. --------------UPDATED-------------- An update to my Jan. 2021 review. . . In Feb. 2021 the Michigan Dept of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs completed an investigation into Azpira Place of Breton, LLC in Kentwood, MI. (investigation #2021A1021017). In response to my complaint, the Dept. established that my husband "received negligent care" in addition to numerous administrative violations. My mother in law is lives at Azpira and we visit often. Her room is very nice and they have been kind enough to let her keep her pet. Some of the kind staff there has even helped her on occasion with pet concerns! Lynn and Denise at the front desk are always so warm and welcoming! The kitchen staff works hard to make meals a positive experience. If we ever have an issue management has been attentive. I understand emotions can run very high when it is near the end of a loved ones life, but I feel the staff here tries to make each of their guests as comfortable as they can, and that is not an easy thing to accomplish.

I recently took a tour of this facility and was surprised at how spacious the rooms were. We were there during a meal period, and all of the residents were very friendly and seemed very comfortable in their surroundings. The staff were very knowledgeable and made my mother feel right at home. We had look at far larger, more expensive residences in the area, but by far this was one of our favorites.

Please do not send your family to this nursing home. The people who work at this place do not care about giving proper patient care. The care givers only care about their personal lives and will talk about any matters in front of your love ones.Get your ears ready to hear about other people sexual lives and gossip. Also this place is known for talking about patient's information openly to others. Most of care givers are there for a check. This place is so unprofessional. It is not ran by the state, so a lot of cross-contamination happens here. The care givers do not care about patient's safety. I had to snatch my love one out of this senior home . I placed him into a better facility.
