Such a wonderful place! My mom spent a month and a half in the rehab center after she had broken her leg. The staff was nothing short of amazing. Very professional and caring. I visited everyday and felt like a part of the VGV family. I can not say enough about the excellent care mom received. My 87-year-old mother recently experienced a pipe burst in her home, which forced her into temporary housing. Due to her age-related limitations, I began exploring senior-centered living options. That's when I contacted Tami Miles, the Director of Sales and Marketing. She is truly outstanding. Tami answered all of our questions, provided us with a tour, and offered helpful suggestions to make my mother's move-in process seamless. Vista Grande Villa has everything you could want! If you are looking for a safe place for your elderly loved ones, this facility will meet all your needs. From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The facility is well-maintained, bright, and filled with friendly residents. The staff members were not only professional but also genuinely caring. They took the time to answer all my questions and seemed sincerely interested in the well-being of the residents. It's apparent that they foster a strong sense of community here, regularly engaging residents in various activities. Speaking of activities, there is a wide range of options available. Whether it’s arts and crafts, fitness options, or movie nights, there seems to be something for everyone to enjoy. The dining options also deserve special mention. The menu is diverse, catering to different dietary needs and preferences. During my visit, I had the opportunity to sample several dishes with my family, and everything was delicious and well-prepared. Residents appeared to be enjoying their meals in a pleasant dining area. Overall, Vista Grande Villa offers a wonderful balance of independence and support, making it an ideal place for seniors to live. If you are looking for a retirement community that prioritizes quality of life, I highly recommend scheduling a visit to see it for yourself.

I recently, along with my sisters, helped move my 88 yr old mother into Vista Grande Villa. It was her desire to enter more of a community living type of residence after my father, her husband of 65 years, passed away. Her hope was to help with the loneliness while still maintaining independent living. This place has been amazing. The apartments are clean & have been well maintained. There are multiple levels of safety including a necklace that can alert staff to her need for help, pull cord in the bathroom & numerous safety bars in the bathroom. It is reassuring to know that there is a safety net if immediate help is needed. The staff is kind & helpful & have quickly learned her name & made attempts to get to know her. The residents have been so welcoming, immediately inviting her to activities. The daily meals (included!) in the lovely dining room are delicious & provide a nice variety with the added benefit of having the company of other residents at mealtime. I cannot say enough about what a great experience this has been for my mom as well as for our family. She feels like this is where she should be. Our sincere thanks to the wonderful staff.

We have recently moved into Vista Grande Villa; into a renovated 2 bedroom apartment. The community is well decorated and clean. The staff has been really friendly and the maintenance was efficient when we moved in. They came quickly to connect our TV and hang a few pictures. The food has been good, they have a great variety of sandwiches. We have already use the library too. I’ve checked out two books and a movie. I look forward to doing the drumming class in the future.

WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND VISTA GRANDE VILLA IN JACKSON, MICHIGAN! Our elderly father has been at Vista for close to 2 years now. He started in assisted living and then moved to the long-term care center. In both locations, our family has been very happy with the care he has received. Some family members live close by and visit him often. And every time, our father is happy, well cared for and in good spirits. Vista staff also keep him busy with exercise classes and activities. The staff across all the service areas are kind, friendly, helpful and responsive to our questions and requests. Kudos to the CNA, nursing, medical, OT/PT, activities, social work, administrative, cleaning, management, accounting and other staff.

After many months of research and touring almost every independent living facility in the Jackson area, Vista Grande Villa was the hands down choice. The services and amenities are far and away superior to anything else available in the area. Then when you factor in that they are also more affordable than comparable communities, it just made it the smart choice. Mom did not choose Vista Grande Villa as her new home because everything made sense on paper. It was the people. Every time we toured, the residents and staff were cheerful, they were smiling and saying hello. Other communities we visited did not have the same feeling. One last thing, the staff to help you transition into this community is exceptional. Nathan went above and beyond to make sure Moms move was easy and actually enjoyable! He listened carefully to our concerns and followed up and more importantly followed through with everything. All and all, Vista Grande Villa was the smart choice for Mom.

My 96 year old mom moved into Independent living 4 weeks ago. Nathan is wonderful. He is a joy to work with, he is engaging and positive. His attitude and skill in communicating made it easy for her to make a quick decision. He gave her choices but knew which apartment suited her and he was right. He was able to make a small cosmetic change that made her very happy and sealed the deal. I struggled with this very quick decision, Nathan was always available to address my needs which made it much easier for me and thus for her. We're both happy with her move, but I don't think it would have happened if not for Nathan.

I can't say enough about this place... and Nate! Moving my mom in was a tough move.... losing your spouse and leaving your home of 50 + years. All the staff is very supportive of all her needs. From checking in on her to taking our requests if something needs attention. Great value for the amount of care your loved one receives even in independent living! Updating reviews of the last 7 years. It is a difficult review to write because I characterize Vista as promises unfulfilled. My father is in the assisted living side, Trellis Gardens, not to be confused with the independent living side of the campus. This review applies to Trellis Gardens. Trellis has many good points, but overall it is substandard. Vista is on, I believe, its third management group since Dad moved in 7 years ago, and recently got its third food service contractor. Each change comes with promises of better service, better care, better food, and improved management. Sadly none of this usually comes to pass and Trellis plods along at about the same pace. Dad says that the taste of the food may have improved with the latest change, but management is dismal. Food servers occasionally don't show up to serve the meals or are sometimes late, up to an hour. Some have little appreciation for the responsibility of feeding my father and his friends. Residents are given a daily menu to select from but they are lucky to get any selected a la carte items. When Dad moved in the Trellis dining rooms had table cloths and linen napkins. Now he is lucky to get a paper placemat. Food prep cleanliness is haphazard. Meals are one of the few things that residents in assisted living can look forward to in their day, but when meals are botched, it affects their wellbeing. The residential care that Dad gets can only be described as adequate. Most of the RA's are very caring, and genuinely like Dad and the other residents. But they are overworked, understaffed, undertrained, and probably underpaid. Its not unusual to have people not show up for a shift, stretching whoever does show up to cover multiple assignments. So response of the RA's to Dad's call button, can sometimes take over an hour. You can't believe the Trellis stats on response, because the RA's will run in, clear the call button, then leave. Trellis fired all the RN's several years ago. The MA's that now dispense meds are generally good, some are very good, but once in awhile Dad's meds are misdispensed. Dad ran out early on, so the family does all the ordering of meds to assure that he won't run out. Dad has a catheter, and there is a very precise procedure that must be followed morning and evening to prevent infection. All these steps are rarely followed. When queried, the RA's say their training comes from following other RA's and watching what they do; hardly adequate. The family has an outside provider change Dad's catheter twice a month as Trellis MA's can't. Trellis also can't give Dad the two showers a week they promise, so the family arranges for another service. Apartment cleaning is perfunctory. Bed linen changes don't always happen. The family has sewn Dad's name on every piece of clothing, linen, towel, up to and including handkerchiefs because random clothing items can either appear or disappear from the laundry. So, all in all, I can't give Trellis a good review. The family has had a fairly continuous dialog with Trellis and Vista management, and they are probably tired of our haranguing. But problems just seem to hang on. Would the family have chosen Trellis for Dad in the first place? That is a hard one to answer. Dad has his favorite RA's and finds comfort in the familiarity of Trellis now that he has been there several years. But there are shortcomings that also affect his wellbeing. Trellis is not a bad place, but it is the continual sleights that father stoically endures that makes it frustrating for the family. If you have a loved one here, as we do, you need to be diligent.

We recently moved our father into an independent living apartment at Vista. This can be a difficult and emotional decision, however, I can not say enough about the support and care given to us by Nathan Lewis! Nathan has gone above and beyond to answer questions, get to know my dad and his family, and do everything he could to make sure the apartment was ready for move in. In a short amount of time we have found the staff and residents to be very welcoming and helpful and dad’s apartment is lovely! Vista offers a variety of living and activity options. Nathan truly cares about each of the residents, reaches out to give comfort and reassurance, and understands the emotional aspect of this move on both the individual and their family. Thank you!

My parents moved into independent living during the height of the pandemic. The entire staff, from marketing to housekeeping to maintenance to Campus Care, could not have been more accommodating and helpful at an enormously difficult time. The support my parents, and our entire family, received to facilitate a very difficult transition for my parents was outstanding. My father, who suffered from dementia, eventually moved into Trellis Gardens, the memory care section of the community. Again, the support and care both my mother and father received was truly top notch. From the big things (convincing my father of his place in his "new" home, obtaining quality on-site medical care, supporting my mother and our family throughout my father's decline) to the smaller things (installing a small refrigerator/freezer for dad, special attention and care (and humor) from the staff members, flexibility in visiting hours for out-of-town family) the entire staff at both independent living and memory care always have the best interests of our parents and family in mind. The members of the community are incredibly welcoming and there are numerous opportunities to stay active and involved. We toured and investigated many facilities in Jackson and the surrounding areas, and Vista Grande Villa was far and away the best choice.

We visited several rehab and independent living homes in the Jackson area and VGV was by far the best. We moved our dad into an apt and mom into rehab after surgery. Nathan Lewis, Sales and Leasing Specialist, was our first contact and has helped us or contacted staff to help us with every need throughout the process. Everyone in every department is helpful and friendly as are even each resident we've come to know. It is a difficult task in making a life changing decision for our aging parents ..... but VGV has been a blessing.

My father moved here about a month ago, into an independent living apartment. His wife had stayed there in the past for rehab, and he also has been in the resident choir for some time. He/we viewed a number of other options before he chose VGV, and it helped that he already has friends here but also he genuinely really likes the place. He and I have especially appreciated how kind and welcoming the fellow residents and staff are. Big gratitude to Nate over in sales/leasing. While my dad blends in well most places, im visibly queer with tattoos and distinctive hair. It’s rare that I feel comfortable and like my presence is no big deal in certain places, including retirement living campuses. However, it’s been lovely spending time with my dad there and Nate has gone out of his way to be helpful even after move in.

Awesome staff on the rehab unit. Shout out to the amazing Cena's who took care of my dad. Best dang therapy department in the area! The PTA and Cota are amazing with my dad. The dietary staff are amazing and so friendly. No complaints other than family need more warning on care conference meeting and option of a morning and afternoon meetings. I can not do afternoon at all. I know the staff are busy but so are the family.
