I worked as hairdresser here for 21 years. The last two years (I finally quit December 2024) I never knew when I was getting paid. They made excuse after excuse snd they ignored my complaints and texts and emails. I stayed on as long as I did because I had formed relationships and bonds with many of the residents and felt like I would be abandoning them….but finally had to give in. It’s a shame. Whoever is in charge in the corporate office should be ashamed of themselves. They have Zero Integrity. I’ve since learned that they’re doing the same exact thing to the gal who took the job after me. Sad.

This is the place! Our family made many tough decisions during Dad's journey with a Dementia diagnosis. The most important of these was where to place him when home care was no longer an option. We toured a different facility first; one that was a bit more expensive and offered some higher end amenities. It was beautiful but lacked something. When we walked in to Woodlawn Meadows, we realized what that something was. It was the feeling of "home" that we all felt and recognized. We made the decision to trust them with Dad's care immediately after our tour. Throughout his year long stay, Dad was treated with respect and kindness and our family was treated like family by administrators and staff. We are very grateful for the care we all received. Should the need arise again, we will not hesitate to place a loved one here.

My Dad was a resident in memory care at Woodlawn Meadows for a year until he recently passed. He received excellent care and the facility is clean, calming, cheerful and inviting. I cannot say enough about the staff. They provide much more than just basic care to residents. They demonstrate genuine warmth, love and patience, even when juggling many tasks or when Dad was upset. Sometimes, staff would do special things for Dad well outside of normal tasks. When the end was near, they showed special care to our family as well. When the time has come to make the difficult decision to place your loved one in a memory care facility, Woodlawn Meadows is an excellent choice.

About 18 months ago, Mom realized she needed help. We visited several residence options, and it was Mom herself who decided on WM. Mom had several friends who had resided there over the years whom she had visited regularly, taking her small dog along to make residents happy. Mom always was told and saw firsthand how happy her friends were and how they were cared for and tended to. Our experience has been just as positive since Mom decided to call WM home. We know most of the staff and administrators by first name and we are regularly impressed and observe for ourselves how they all care for and interact with "Miss Kay". Mom has had 2 rooms, and been very happy with both. A second room became available after a few months and staff asked Mom about a move, and she decided to accept their offer after visiting the room over several days and considering her options. It was a great experience. We've continued a regular dialogue with Mom about the Memory Care and Assisted Living as she has options, and it's been her choice to remain in MC as she loves the spaciousness of her room and the company of the friends she has made. I am personally grateful she remains in MC because I cannot say enough good things about the caregivers I see interacting with Mom (and the other residents) almost daily. Mom has always kept largely to herself, but she is regularly kept apprised of activities and personally invited to participate. Her privacy is always respected, but staff is johnny on the spot if there is any need. The meals, structured schedule (for peace of mind), medication and medical attention are everything I could have asked for. We live nearby so we regularly visit. The staff have contacted us for things here and there, and always been thoughtful and professional. Mom has some mobility issues and staff have helped her with the phone and daily things that have really improved her quality of life, and given us an assurance of care and attention that had become a concern in her previous independent living. At WM, Mom has care, a measure of independence, respect, her basic needs tended to and companionship. We could not be happier with WM.

I'm a home health nurse, working in assisted living facilities primarily, and have experienced both the good and the bad in this industry and this facility is as good as they get. The leadership (Allison and Jami) are a pair of people who are deeply committed to creating an environment for the residents that is as safe, healthy and enriching as is humanly possible and have shown excellent judgement in the culture and sense of community they have created. I would feel completely comfortable having my own mother reside there. I can't give them a big enough endorsement. They have created an amazing community.

Our family member lived at Woodlawn Meadows for 19 months. We feel so grateful to have found this place! EVERYONE there is so caring and committed to the residents. They have many creative and fun activities to keep the residents active and involved. The food is wonderful and the chef's care! The director makes it a point to get to know all of the residents and visit them often. We recently sent a thank you note to the staff and this says it all: "We know that you have really answered a calling for what your life's work should be. We hope and pray, that even if you had a tough day at work, you can go home and feel great about what you have done for others. Because, every day, we feel grateful that you were there, caring and loving and putting up with those not so fun moments. We knew that you were there, doing your best being patient, loving and kind. Please, feel good about yourselves and your work. You are saints, angels, guardians and you are so appreciated! You truly make a difference in so many peoples lives. Great assisted living community in the heart of Hastings. The community is always clean and well kept. The activities keep the residents active and engaged. Great leadership team as well. And the little dog Oscar is another special treat for residents and visitors alike.

I have been to Woodlawn Meadows a handful of times since my husband works there. All of the staff members are friendly and caring. You can tell that every one of them is compassionate about their job. In addition, they take extra precautionary measures during Covid to ensure that all of the residents and staff members are safe.
