When my mom’s health declined quickly and we were no longer able to care for her at home, we had to find another option”fast. A close family friend recommended Sunrise Assisted Living after her own husband had been there for three years, and she couldn’t have spoken more highly of the experience. From the moment we arrived, we saw exactly what she had described. The culture is genuinely caring and family-oriented. Staff members support one another, step in without hesitation, and treat residents with real warmth and respect. It’s clear they are very intentional”almost picky”in who they hire, and it shows. Many of the caregivers have been there for 10+ years, which speaks volumes about the environment and leadership. The team was incredibly supportive during my mom’s transition, guiding us through some very difficult moments with compassion and patience. When my mom ultimately passed away, the in-house hospice team was exceptional. They made the process as peaceful and gentle as possible for both my mom and our family. I am deeply impressed with Sunrise. I run a healthcare business myself, and this is exactly the kind of culture I strive to create”one where everyone pitches in, cares deeply, and treats people like family. The staff, directors, nurses, caregivers are kind, compassionate people. The Sunrise system is very expensive, but mom received good care. She thought she lived at a hotel! Mom was there several years so they got to know her well. great choice for our family.

I strongly recommend moving your loved ones to this facility. We are so happy with the care and environment at Sunrise of Grosse Pointe Woods. My mom is 93, and we were initially concerned that relocating her at this age might increase her confusion. But the opposite has happened ” she’s truly thriving. She’s more alert, engaged, and participates in more activities tailored to individuals with dementia. The residents and staff are incredibly welcoming, and the staff, in particular, are caring, loving, and attentive. It’s a wonderful place that brings peace of mind to families.

My brother recently became a resident of Sunrise of Grosse Pointe Woods, due to the need for assisted living. Before deciding, I toured several possibilities, and quickly realized that there are a wide range of choices out there. The moment that I walked into Sunrise, I was immediately taken by the warmth, beauty, and attention to detail. I expected such an impressive community to come with a very high price tag. But to my surprise, the cost was quite reasonable compared to other options. The decision to choose Sunrise became an easy one - and meeting their sweet mascot dog, Dollie, sealed the deal!!!! At the time, I was recovering from knee replacement surgery, so my ability to help with the actual move was limited. Sunrise went out of their way to make things easier, even pointing out the convenience of the lower-level, secure garage parking, which meant that I never had to struggle with street parking or long walks. The maintenance coordinator, Chris, was also a huge help. He kindly assisted me with the assembly of a closet drawer organizer and other tasks, always with a warm, enthusiastic attitude. Another convenience that I truly appreciate is the on-site salon/barber shop, which adds to the sense of comfort and accessibility for residents. Also, my brother has thoroughly enjoyed the Thursday afternoon concerts, and many other activities offered. The staff at Sunrise are consistently friendly and attentive to resident needs. They quietly and quickly step in to handle countless responsibilities with professionalism and care. One moment that really impressed me was being there on a Sunday, and seeing the Executive Director working the front desk. This is not unusual, as their commitment is clearly obvious seven days a week, and her presence on a weekend spoke volumes about the dedication of the entire team. You will not be disappointed when you experience what Sunrise of Grosse Pointe Woods has to offer. In every way, it is truly, the Rolls Royce of Assisted Living!!

To say that Sunrise Senior Living in Grosse Pointe does an excellent job is truly an understatement. From the moment we made the decision for a family member to move into assisted living, the transition was guided by a team of professional and experienced Directors who ensured every detail was handled with care. Their support made what could have been a stressful process feel seamless and reassuring. The staff are remarkably kind, attentive, and genuinely interested in the residents’ well-being. Their commitment to meeting each person’s needs is clear”everyone seems to know the residents personally and responds promptly and compassionately. The nursing director is especially dedicated, coordinating physician rounds as well as dermatology and other specialty providers who visit regularly. This makes life much easier by reducing the need for some of the outside appointments, which can be difficult to arrange and travel to. The dining experience is another highlight, with a daily menu that offers a variety of high-quality, delicious options. Sunrise has truly thought of everything, from meals to medical care, and it shows in the details. We’ve also appreciated the weekly music entertainment, the well-planned activities calendar, and the inviting family gathering activities room that has been perfect for special occasions. The convenient location is yet another plus. Overall, Sunrise Assisted Living in Grosse Pointe provides exceptional care and creates a warm, supportive, and well-appointed environment for residents and their families. The surprise has been how competitive the pricing is, especially considering the high level of service and amenities compared to other options we toured. We recently moved my mother from another state to Sunrise Grosse Pointe to be closer to family. My family and I have been impressed with the community. The staff and other residents have been so welcoming. The nurses, aides and other staff who work there seem to truly enjoy their work with the residents. She is encouraged to participate in activities and that has helped her settle into the community. As a family member, I appreciate that both administrative and medical staff are so approachable and helpful. I am pleased there was an available apartment when we needed one. I would highly recommend Sunrise Grosse Pointe.

I would recommend Sunrise to everyone that is looking into assisted living for their parents. We moved my mom in beginning of June on Hospice care, as my mom had been battling lymphoma and it was no longer safe for her to live alone. We couldn’t have been happier with the care and staff that took care of my mom. Everyone there is friendly and they have great activities to keep residents engaged. We no longer had to worry if she was eating, she was getting three meals a day! And there are many residents that live there as a downsize, not just for Hospice care. Unfortunately my mom passed, but even going through that the staff was absolutely amazing! They treated us with such care and empathy and they do a final goodbye as the funeral home took my mom out. It was so beautiful and still makes me cry!!! Thank you Sunrise staff for making my last moments with my mom so incredibly peaceful and calming.

I was there for 3 months and I got better rehab there than I did at an actual rehab! The care team remembers are kind. They care about their residents. The OT/PT company they use is top notch! Or if you want you can bring in your own OT/PT company. I highly recommend Sunrise.

Lovely assisted living facilities on the first floor, and everyone who works there is pleasant. But if you’re in need of memory care, you can get much better value for your money by looking elsewhere. My loved one is much happier, better cared for and also more engaged after finding placement at a different community. If you care about more than appearances I would strongly recommend looking into places that specialize solely in memory care, even if the building isn’t as glitzy.

The staff at Sunrise GPW on Mack is so attentive to the meds of the residents and families. Jeff & Kim before and upon move-in, Chandra, Egypt and the other follks on the 2nd floor,; Mike, and Sharon that was so helpful with the insurance item. My daughter and I took one look at the personnel and facility, and we knew this was the place for our loved one. Kudos to Rachel , Megan and Mary for keeping the activities interesting and and enjoyable! Great place!

Wow! Just wow on the staff at sunrise who just went above and beyond to take care of several families in great need. I recently volunteered to help a a few kiddos on an angel tree at a local school. They weren’t asking for toys, but for boxes of food, toothbrushes, toilet paper, etc. The staff at Sunrise found out about it and showed up in a big way to help out! That’s the kind of amazing humans that work here! We all know caregivers receive nowhere near the thanks they deserve I wanted to take a minute to say, thank you!! Because of your generosity we were able to help so many more families. On behalf of a bunch of elementary kiddos who will have a better meal because of people like YOU, thank you so much!!!!

We love the homey, family feeling at Sunrise, between the way everyone knows and loves my mother, to the comfortable furnishings, it all makes my mother feel like she’s home. The staff are so sweet and attentive to her. When she needs help she doesn’t feel afraid to ask because she knows the response will be kind and quick. We’ve had my mother in several other faciities, and I tell everyone that Sunrise is the best! Nobody else comes close.

As do billions of people in the world, I treasure my Mom. I look like her. In many ways I have her talents for color, for fun, for kindness, for music, for determination. For generosity. I love the Lord and she does too. I'm grateful for the many billions who cherish their parents, but "Mom" is "mine". She cannot think for herself; she needs myself and my brother to entirely make decisions for her. I KNOW that when I visit and leave her at Sunrise Grosse Pointe Woods, she is loved, cared for, clean, fed, and treated with uncommon dignity and regard. Should anything happen to her, their response is quick, their care is of the finest quality and at the highest standards known to extended residential care facilities in the United States. I am certain of very little in this life, but of this I am certain: my beloved Mom is safe. I Praise God for Sunrise Grosse Pointe Woods, Mi.

Sunrise takes care of my Aunt who has dementia. I am an estate lawyer by profession and have over 25 years dealing with countless facilities. This Sunrise location I would rank as among the best in terms of their sincere desire to help families and the patient. The medical/personal care is excellent, they are responsive to our needs and questions, the food is very good and facility is exceptionally clean.
