I’m coming up on my 1 Yr Anniversary and boy time flys when you’re having fun. I Love it here all my needs are taken care of. Food is Wonderful and the staff also. Their caring and so helpful when any issues. Dave does a Great Job managing this whole building . Emma keeps us busy how she does it i’ll never know she has a lot to do for us always and really funny too. Adrian and Kay also LaShawn do a wonderful job here also. They have a lot on their shoulders too. Melissa in the kitchen is a Wonderful Lady along with her Son very caring. Everyone in the kitchen are so very nice. housekeeping and serving do such an Amazing job also they stay busy boy . Love a lot of our Residents they are from all back grounds to. Love hearing their Journeys. I truly feel complete here living here and can’t say enough good things about here. I have a lot of friends here and i’m Thankful for each of them. If you want a Wonderful place to live come here to Genesee Gardens I will get to talk with you and show you around and hear your Story some day. Very Greatful for my Home here. I moved in eight months ago. I enjoy the staff and people. I like the activities, they keep me active and the director, Emma, gives us lots of choices and variety. There's always something I do and the staff is friendly, respectful and considerate.

My Mother in law moved in last October and she loves it! We visit often and everyone has been very nice and accommodating. Lots of fun activities to do and she has made many friends. She always shows me the cute bracelets or wall/door hangings she’s made in the craft room. We’ve had lunch there before and the menu and food were great! We appreciate very much knowing that she is safe and happy. Thanks to the entire team for giving our family peace of mind.

I give the Gardens this rating because of cost. Recently, I have been looking into other independent living facilities for my mother. I have learned a lot. Where the majority of the apartments are kitchenettes at the Gardens, their close competition that I looked at had a full kitchen in all of their one bedroom apartments and had two tier pricing. If you want all the amenities, the price was comparable to the Gardens. If you didn't need all the amenities, you still could rent the same one bedroom at a reduced cost pay a la carte for the amenities you wanted, like meals, housekeeping, etc. I recently visited a facility that was built in 2024 by the same competitive organization and they now offer in-facility washer and dryer for a monthly rental if you are renting at the reduced rate. You still paid for your phone and other stuff like that at the competition like you do at the Gardens. I am surprised that the Gardens hasn't switched to this management model. It seems to be the trend.

Love the staff here! They are all so helpful. Emma M. is awesome; she went above and beyond recently when my sister had a medical issue. I can't tell you how much our family appreciated her quick response and follow up. She's one of the many reasons my sister loves living here:0)

I’ve lived here going on four month and i love it here . I have lots of friends we care about each other and it’s a Wonderful place to live. Front office is so helpful and just Wonderful activity’s Emma’s Awesome at what she does and she checks on you which is comforting to know she really cares. The housekeepers are very sweet and work so hard also the kitchen staff chefs and cooks are very special people feeding us everyday three times a day. I’m so Glad Kim called me and i was able to get a home just right for me. If you wanna good time and many laughs come here we would love to meet and get to know you. °And Davis works hard taking care of this whole building Thanks Dave we appreciate you too °

We had a family get together for Father’s Day / birthday party, and Emma was such a big help in letting us use the activity room. They have a great staff. It’s clean and they have great food daily for the residents.

We have had the best experience!! The staff has been wonderful!! Lashawn, Emma,Kim and David. These are the names I know but everyone the cleaning, serving, cooks, and the office are all wonderful!! I highly recommend this place if you have a loved one that wants to be independent but needs a little help!! They have activities to keep them busy if they choose!! Thank you all who help keep it running we appreciate you all!!

My mother has been living there for about about a month, from the very first consultation I was met by Lashawn and Kim. From that day forward It has been the best decision we have made for the family. The whole staff have been just wonderful. Lashawn and Emma go above an beyond to make the residents feel at home. I would definitely recommend Holiday Genesee Gardens!!

I never thought I’d like apartment living but Genesee Gardens is very nice. We love our apartment! There are so many activities offered! The activity director, Emma, does a great job planning and encouraging the residents to get involved. All the management (Adrian, LaShawn, Kimberly, and Kay) are always friendly and willing to help with any need or concern. If you are considering a move to an independent living facility then come visit Genesee Gardens in Flint, MI.

My mom has been at Genesee Gardens for 1 year now. She has made a few good friends and really enjoys Emma, the activities director. Emma always goes out of her way to make sure my mom participates in most of the activities. Kay and Adrian also look out for my mom. I appreciate everything they do to make her feel at home here.

I have been looking for Senior Living for quit some time. Kimberly Wheat came to see me when I was in Rehab. she was so nice, explained everything to me. She even sent me pics of the apt.she was wonderful to talk to. She made me feel so comfortable about moving into Genesee Meadows. If this is the kind of people you have, I’ll enjoy the rest of my days there.

I have a love one who just moved into Genesee Gardens. My biggest fear is what kind of place this is. I was amazed as soon as I walked through the door I was impressed. This is where I would want to be when the time comes in need of service. Top notch 5*****stars!!!

My brother-in-law lives at Genesee Gardens. We visited 3 senior living apartment complexes. My brother-in-law chose Genesee Gardens. The apartment complex is well maintained, very nicely decorated. The dining room is a dining room not a cafeteria. The food is tasty and nicely prepared. There are several options offered at each meal as well as a small deli area where residents can choose a fresh half sandwich, fruit, snacks. The staff is friendly and helpful. The apartment is cleaned each weeks. The other residents are friendly. Pets are allowed. Transportation is available. I would live there.

Words cannot express my extreme pleasure regarding Genessee Gardens and the staff. My mother, who is an 88 year old assertive, talented, friendly, outspoken and bossy resident is extremely happy there. The staff goes above and beyond to welcome their residence and make them feel exactly like they are at home.

A safe clean beautiful friendly and well-managed facility. My mom live there for a little over a year and I really can't say enough good about the management and the staff and even the people. It's a well-built warm and clean place. At the time it was less expensive than other places as well but I don't know if that's the case now. Thankful they were there for my mom.

They have been wonderful to my Mother-In-law especially during this pandemic. Excellent management of the Pandemic. I received a call back from Sherry Howe on the first business day after I sent questions on the website. I had a lovely conversation with her. She answered all of my questions and sent me follow up emails with video tours and documentation to assist my mother in making a decision.

My grandfather lives here, get nice, clean, and friendly place. During this pandemic they're doing a wonderful job of screening visitors, contact tracing, and limiting two people per resident for outside visits

I only have wonderful things to say about Genesee Gardens in Flint, MI!!! Especially during the pandemic! My mom has been living here for 5 years and I have no complaints! It is comforting to know they implemented and follow through with strict precautions during the pandemic. I feel bad we couldn’t visit for a while, but we called her every day, I dropped off grocery’s, treats, books, magazines for her to read once a week and the busy staff delivered them in a timely fashion. She also waved to us from her balcony. With so many high risk people living there it is comforting to know they weren’t taking chances with people coming and going or residents interacting with each other. My mother raves about the food -quality and quantity that is delivered to her 3 times a day, along with snacks!! Kudos to the wonderful, caring staff at Genesee Gardens!

I came here for a meeting with Mary. And in spite of the mud and icy weather we have been having the entry way was very clean. The residents were having a meal, and it made me smile to see them spending time together. I would think if my parent or loved one was looking for a independent living community. I would be glad there are staying somewhere and making other friends and enjoying the social community here at Genesee gardens.

We moved my Mom in the first of June. During our research of the facility, each one of the staff members were extremely helpful in working with us to help us in our decision. The move in and transition has gone very smoothly and the help from the staff has continued when we had questions. Even going above and beyond. For loved ones that still desire independent living while needing some assistance (e.g. med mgmt), some social interaction and prepared foods, Genesee Gardens offers a very nice valued priced option. Certainly people can have issues or missed expectations. In our experience with the current staffing, I nor my Mom have never witnessed any of the staff being rude or unprofessional. Far from it.

After investigating 5 independent/assisted living properties, I settled on Genessee Gardens in Flint Mi. It has been an absolutely amazing experience. Mary in the sales department was extremely helpful. She encouraged me to eat lunch with the residents to get a feel for the place, which I did. All of the ladies I met were lovely and gave me their honest opinions. All were happy living there. They were ultimately the reason I decided Genessee Gardens was perfect for my Mom! She has been a resident for 2 months now and is loving it! The staff is wonderful! They know all the residents by name and work hard to get to know them on a personal level. Kelly has been fabulous! The few issues we have had she has taken care of immediately. Adrienne was working the day Mom arrived and did everything possible to make her feel welcomed. LaShawn the activities director is fantastic! There are a lot of activities and family are encouraged to participate. She definitely earns her money and is loved by everyone. Tom in maintenance has been extremely helpful and goes above and beyond the call of duty. He has really helped me make this a true home for my Mom. The building is beautiful. My Mom has a studio with a cutout and it works perfect for her. She loves the balcony! As with anything somethings can be improved on. The food initially was not as consistent as we would have liked. However they have been working on it and made significant improvements! Mom says the quality has really gone up. The meals I’ve eaten have been excellent this past month. Family can eat for free and we have done this many times. Most places charge $5. Kelly has been working hard in this area and it really shows. Housekeeping is included. A few small glitches ie. wrong size sheets on the bed, not enough toilet paper. However when I bring it to Kelly’s attention it is taken care of in a timely fashion. Taking into account the small issues we’ve had. I gave it a 5 star rating, because they work very hard to correct any issues. If your reading this then you have also seen the negative reviews. I would suggest visiting Genessee Gardens yourself. Talk with the staff and residents. It may not be the right fit for everyone but it sure is for my Mom.

I was a little divided on what to score. I would have given all five stars if it was about the gems who take care of my mother. They're wonderful. But when it comes to the staff for Holiday they are not as helpful. The manager seems nice but is very controlling and demanding when it comes to the residents. Also I was promised a lot from the sales lead and none of it was correct. They want to charge for everything and don't supply what they say they will when you sign to move in. Toilet paper is suppose to be supplied, you're not suppose to have to buy it but yet they only give one roll a week. When you ask the house keeper for something she gets upset and walks away. Before you put your parents here make sure they can afford it with all of the additional fees they tack on and that they will follow ALL of their rules. Even though this is not a nursing home they have a lot of rules. One rule they have is you're not allowed to use your cell phone in dinning room. I have seen people be scolded for using their phone. These are all rules they do not tell you when you move in. We are Looking to move my mother out.
