Burcham Hills worked with W3 for our Hats in the Garden Event in June. Blown away doesn't begin to describe the Charcuterie board they provided…not only was it delicious, with a fantastic array of cheeses, bread and crackers, but it was stunningly beautiful, and artfully displayed. The crew who did set up was amazing as well. Looking forward to working with them again, and again!

Burcham hills has terrible management. Residents are poorly treated in cares. I see a lot of good staff leave this place. It best that YOU DO NOT move your love ones here unless you want them gone. This place is not a good place for employment, they honestly need to get rid of management (michelle) for she has no idea in what she is doing or how to run this place. I have walk through the hallways of each floor and have notice how residents are neglected, new staff that are lost, hospitals not fully equipped for residents safety. This place is a terrible place to be.

I moved into the new Stonebriar at Burcham Hills in October, 2021. Having planned from even before ground breaking to make this my rest-of-life home, I am very pleased that Stonebriar is meeting my expectations. My apartment is spacious, bright, and complete with full kitchen and washer/dryer. The staff is caring and responds to individual needs. I have sampled many activities provided and started a stitchery group. I loved our bus trip and tour of the Detroit Art Museum. I enjoy our monthly outings to a different ethnic restaurant each month. The strong sense of community I feel for residents and staff makes me happy to call this my home.

My family highly recommends Burcham Hills as a residence. We have what feels like a lifetime of experience with Burcham Hills - my grandmother was a resident for 9 years in the 1980's, and my mother has been a resident the past 7 years. Both have been excellent experiences! In particular, as my mother's health has changed, we have been able to add services while she remains in the same apartment. This makes the transitions easier. Even during the darkest days of COVID, when finding help was challenging, Mother received continually good, comforting care. The transition in ownership has been largely transparent - no decrease in care, or major increases in cost. Please consider Burcham Hills as an alternative living environment.

Upon entering at lower level, this place appears to be nice and well staffed. Professional. But upon trying to get to the second floor, the elevators are not working and have been that way for the past 7 weeks that I have been visiting. Difficulty in finding the stairs and even then you have to find an employee to let you thru. The second floor was barely staffed. No one could assist in an elderly patient who needed help. They said they are understaffed and can't help her. Her diaper had not been changed since 11:30 a.m. and it was 6:00p.m. at this time. I could not find a nurse or assistant anywhere at that time . I have been there numerous times and every visit is the same. Was also very difficult to leave. Couldn't find the stairs as the doors were not marked. I would not recommend this place to send your elderly family members! It was disgusting how patients on the second floor are treated. She was given a plain hotdog and a piece of pie for dinner even though she told them she can not eat hot dogs. Do not send your loved ones here!!!

I had a bad fall 12/26 broke my ankle in 3 places sparrow was the only place that could fix it they sent me here and so thankful they did I had a small stroke. I came here for physical therapy. My father was a patient in The Center for Health and Rehabilitation three times in the past six months. Dad received very good care in the CHR. All his personal needs were met as well as excellent daily PT and OT (Monday-Friday). The rooms and bathrooms are very clean and spacious, with big windows. Danielle Matson is the Clinical Insurance Case Manager in the CHR and she is phenomenal. She was excellent about communicating with Dad and our family: consistently and in a timely manner. She also explained the process (multiple times:)) and answered all of our questions. Each time Dad stayed in the CHR, his mobility improved. The "care team" who set up his initial care assessments were very professional, caring, understanding, and helpful. I want to also give a shout out to Marco who was one of Dad's caring and consistent care givers and Steve the OT who encouraged Dad every step of the way. They were both great with Dad. I am sure there are many other unsung heroes, thank you to them too. Thank you for the positive experience for my father. I will recommend the CHR to others.

My family is impressed with the experience, too. If I ever need rehab again, I'm coming here. This has been a difficult time for me but the staff is helping me get through it. I was Burcham Hills for a non weight bearing broken ankle. Had surgery on the 26th for plates & Screws. PT Therapist, Most CNA's, Most Nurses were wonderful. Took 4 days to get my Meds on a Schedule. Had to basically argue yo get my meds on time in the middle of the night. Then Discharge, on a Sunday. Really no help from the Social worker on figuring out where to go. Got that figured out aMonday. Charged me $498 for the "extra" day. Then Burcham was supposed to order a Wheelchair, and Hospital bed to be used at the facility I went into. Guess what? Dropped the ball. I do NOT have the equipment I need to help me heal & recover. The place I am at ordered everything, but because Burcham screwed up? The equipment is not here yet. I am VERY uncomfortable. Not resting well, whole body is aching, even with my meds. Food was great, most Aides, PT & Nurses were awesome. Social Workers& whoever was handling my case, and dropping the ball on the equipment & other things? Not impressed. Very disappointed for what they charge. VERY

The atmosphere is welcoming and the facility is always extremely clean. The residents have many activities to choose from on a daily basis such as various exercise classes and live performances by accomplished musicians. If my parent had to move into an assisted living facility, I would want them to be at Burcham Hills.

I visit Burcham Hills every Wednesday as part of my job as Adult Services Librarian at East Lansing Public Library. We bring books to the residents in many genres and formats, and spend some time chatting with them about their reading. I couldn't provide this service without the extremely helpful, thoughtful, and dedicated work of Burcham staff! They go out of their way to connect me to the readers of Burcham, and to get resident requests to me. They also coordinate and organize special visits from us, as in our recent "tiny art" session. Based on my time spent at Burcham, I believe it would be a great place to live. Staff is dedicated to the residents and provides an array of excellent services. I truly do look forward to going every Wednesday!

All of my husband's healing began at Burcham Hills Rehabilitation Center. All staff: nurses, therapists, aides, doctor, administrators were compassionate and responsive. The nurse button was never ignored, no question was left unanswered. The chef made soups from scratch from his own recipes! Burcham's comforting, home-like atmosphere made us feel like family. When I arrived at Burcham Hills I was restricted to a bed. Now, I am leaving at an independent level from a wheelchair. That would not have been possible without the amazing physical therapy and occupational therapy that is provided at Burcham Hills. I first became aware of Burcham Hills was when I was in medical school at MSU. It was known more for its skilled nursing care at that time. Later when I returned to East Lansing as part of the College of Human Medicine faculty I lived nearby and saw the expansion of the facility. It now compromises a full spectrum of senior living and activities. Recently, one of my nieces made the decision to work for Burcham Hills and I am privy to more information about this excellent not-for-profit facility. I am in awe of the care provided to residents and the continued expansion of services. I will definitely consider Burcham Hills for my own needs when the time arises.

I have vast working experience with their team throughout their sub acute rehab, assisted living and memory care units and have been very impressed. Very clean, amazing protocols for building securing, and absolutely beautiful property and amenities. The staff management and facilitators were very thorough, accommodating and expedited the process and transfer from hospital to short-term rehabilitation for my father. Rehab nurses, physical & occupational therapy and staff very nice and embraced any questions or corrective critism in communications of my father's care or medical needs. My father just loved all the indoor/outdoor wildlife and the beautiful gardens/courtyards during our walks and activities. Such a healthy environment for patients and residents to be able to get fresh air and enjoy all of nature's beauty.
