In March of 2020, after our mom's rehabilitation from a bad fall, I came home to help look after her. In order for her to continue to live in her own home, she was in need of care 24/7. I note that this was also right at the beginning of the pandemic, and it was not an easy time to be in need of health care. Upon researching our numerous options for care, we called Comfort Keepers in Ann Arbor. I chose them due to the fine reputation the company enjoys all around the country and the many laudatory testimonials I read. Right from the very beginning of our family's relationship with them they were first rate. The care they provided for our family is truly immeasurable, not just the attention paid to our mother's needs but also to the needs of myself and my sister. The care givers they provided were completely professional, extremely compassionate, and if for any reason the fit wasn't perfect for mom, they were willing to adjust their personnel to make things work better for her. They truly provide client based care. I can't say enough here to recommend them to any and all who are in need of help for their loved ones. We are so grateful they were there for our family. Yvonne Shihadeh has been a caregiver for my mother for more than a year and she is wonderful. Yvonne is very patient and has the right touch, knowing when my mother needs assistance and when to step in and when to let mom do it herself with guidance. After my father died last year Yvonne was gentle and supportive with my mother, keeping her company as my mother grieved and was processing her loss. This was exactly what mom needed at that time, a compassionate person to sit quietly with her and keep her company. My mom feels safe with Yvonne and I rely on her a lot to take care of my mom two days a week. We are very grateful for Yvonne.

I don't know what we'd do without our caregivers. They're all reliable and compassionate toward my parents. Tanya is especially good with my mother, who has dementia. She works closely with her and does her best to draw her out of her fog by sharing crafts with my mom and telling her little anecdotes about her own life. I would recommend Comfort Keepers to anyone looking for help with their aging family members, we used them with my grandparents. They were a great choice from the very start. When we had our assessment meeting to get to know them, we knew we were going to go with them. Their caregivers are great, and friendly. They allow my grandparents to still maintain a sense of independence, while being there to assist them with whatever they may need. They not only assist with the chores around the house, but they also help keep my grandparents engaged. They will do puzzles, crosswords, and a variety of games with them as well.
