My niece Angelic Hyndman is there. She is kinda there by not our choice. But she won't go back to where she was.. Laurels is wonderful place. I'm not there that often at all. She hasn't got allot of family. I have been trying to get her to South haven area closer to where I am. If your thinking of bringing your loved one here i would say it's quite the facility. They truly care about there patients.

November 2025
I was sent here for wound care and rehab. I can't begin to say enough about Melissa and the wound care that I received from her and the others who have cared for me. Melissa's smiling face always set the mood, and if she wasn't smiling, she was by the time she left! And I'm not going to sell my "Power Trio" short, you know who you are!

My dad is currently there and the nurses CNA in b wing are truly a great team. They take good care of my dad. They truly care and provide great care.
October 2025
It was strange to be a patient instead of employee. I found my stay just what I needed after my fall at home. Therapy was most helpful to see how my habits needed to be examined and altered. Thank you to all the for staff their care. Connie Vercruysse

I visited a friend in Laurels of Bedford & was NOT impressed! Another resident was in a wheelchair & could not care fir himself. He smelled horribly of urine. I heard that he refused to let staff chg him so he was just left in that condition! Being a retired NP, I can't imagine leaving someone in that condition, making other residents & guests exposed to the odor, & pray the man's skin integrity is not compromised because of the constant exposure to urine. The staff was not friendly!

Excellent staff! Very carring and involved(Nick Boak). Highly recommended!

The laurels is a perfect place for your loved ones. The staff is not only kind and caring but, respectful of all the residents . The social worker, Nick, is especially considerate of people’s needs. I have observed the kindness in which he handled concerns and needs of each person. He truly cares. I would recommend this facility to anyone considering a home for their loved one.

The staff was fantastic from the housekeepers to the administrative staff. The CNAs were kind and caring. Therapy was phenomenal too. I didn’t want to go to rehab but so glad. I did . Thank you Nicole Vogler for getting me a bed in your facility. Appreciate all of you. Lori Bott
March 2025
It would be 1 star, but the social worker and the PT lady were amazing and should be commended. Otherwise, they are very short staffed and unable to respond to the call button in a reasonable time frame. Left my mother with vomit for 45 minutes. Also left her on the toilet for 30 minutes more than once (even her roommate was trying her call button to get someone to respond). Very hard working people, it's just that there are not enough aids on staff to cover the needs of the consumers.

Most of the people are nice . Got to do a better job with food could probably get better food in a prison

The staff took such wonderful care of our Aunt. They went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure she was well taken care of. They were very attentive of her and made sure she was very comfortable. When we would leave for the nights, we knew she was good hands. Thank you so much to all departments for making her stay her as comfortable as possible.
November 2024
It's the people! Everyone is kind and compassionate; I have not met one team member who didn't have my aunt's best interests at heart. The menu is varied, nutritious, and tasty. The facility is clean, shiny, and odor free. Congrats for exceeding my expectations and taking such good care of my aunt.

My father is here. Staff is friendly and work hard, but seems understaffed to me. My Dad’s Social Worker, Nick, is very helpful and informative. I’m an architect and see the facility is not up to today’s design standards in regard to barrier free accessibility (ADA) and indoor air quality (ASHREA) and Life Safety (NFPA) standards. Patient rooms are double occupancy and small. Due to small rooms, the corridors have a lot of wheel chairs and convalescent equipment in the halls which impede emergency egress. I didn’t see a sprinkler fire suppression system and the facility is Type V (combustible) construction. The building isn’t broken up with firewalls and exceed today’s allowable area for non-sprinkled building codes. The building was built prior to ADA being adopted in 1991. Bedrooms and bathrooms are not ADA accessible. The indoor air quality, mechanical system, needs more air changes per hour and better temperature control. Radiant baseboard heat only. No fresh air intake in the bedrooms. The bathroom exhaust doesn’t work and hot water takes a long time to arrive at the faucet. The building envelope is not well insulated and the summer heat radiates inward noticeably. Dad’s room is on a south exposure with brick veneer wall which absorbs the sun radiant heat and stores the heat which radiates inward to the room. It took a couple weeks to get a window AC unit. I was there in August and it was hot with heat index feels like temperature at 100° F with high humidity outdoors. I brought in a thermometer, and the room was 78~80° F. Looking for another place that has better barrier free accessibility, indoor air quality, and life safety compliance.

My brother was at this facility for a longtime. The staff, Nick, his social worker, went above and beyond anything I have ever experienced with a skilled nursing facility. I know I speak for my entire family when I say, thank you, for caring for my brother just like a family member™™™™™

The Laurels of Coldwater has had many renovations over the years and the team of staff across the board are top notch! Kudos to the therapy staff, I often hear how wonderful Bless and Maria are when encountering those who have graduated therapy and returned home!
February 2020
My grandmother was a resident at the Laurels of Coldwater for 8 years or more. She loved it there, it felt like home. I was very pleased with how she was taken care of. The Laurels of Coldwater was there for my grandmother and cared for her until her passing. The staff was very friendly and caring especially when it came to her particular needs. She had dementia which is a disease very hard for loved ones and everyone around her to deal with. But the loving and caring staff at the Laurels of Coldwater did exactly what they are there to do. They took care of her and I am happy she was there.
February 2020
The staff at the Laurels of Coldwater truly care about their residents and the nursing staff is awesome!!
February 2020
I appreciate the knowledge and helpfulness of the Business Office. They were great when helping me and my spouse with understanding our insurance benefits.
February 2020
As a third party hospice provider, I make weekly visits to this facility. This is one of my favorite stops as everyone is always friendly, warm and welcoming. The social work team truly cares for their patients and it shows! The nursing team is phenomenal as well! The interaction I see between staff and patients is always compassionate and loving. It’s very evident when someone works in this industry just to earn a paycheck. You do NOT get that vibe at all with the staff at Laurels of Coldwater. You can tell that the staff really does care for each and every resident. I would recommend this facility to my dearest friends and family. Thank you Laurels of Coldwater for all that you do to serve our community!!
February 2020

Most of staff strive to make sure your loved ones and visitors are comfortable. The staff is friendly and a pleasure to be around. Very caring staff and wonderful residents! My son enjoys volunteering here from time to time.
February 2020
I've been to several nursing homes. The national medical environment always fluctuates. It's hard on non mega facilities. Despite this I've always been impressed by the drive for excellence even during unexpected changes. I've had friends of family here many times and have been happy with the results. I'd recomend Laurels to them if the need arises again.
February 2020
For my Father (George DePew) based on his experience here. "I had two knee rehabs here. The first was resdential but the second was oupatient. The medical staff here took good care of me during my rehab stay. They are courteous and professional. This place is so much improved from the past and seems to be on a trend for continous improvement. I was apprehensive to stay/be treated here at first based upon past experience from friends/aquaintenances but my fears were unfounded and I was taken very good care of. Food service is good as well."

I am in several nursing facilities every week and they have one of the nicest and caring staff of nurses and nursing assistants

Very clean, friendly environment. Was very pleased with the staff care and the assistance of the social work team!
June 2018
We could not have asked for better care for my father in his last months. The place was spotless, as was my father. The aides and nurses on dads wing (C) were so patient and caring and respectful of all the patients not just dad. He was on B wing also briefly and they were awesome also. My family has a long history of nursing homes, both as family working in one or family members being a resident. And we have nothing but the highest praise for the Laurels nursing staff and aides. The ancillary staff (housekeeping, dietary, laundry and rehab) were also excellent. Was everything always perfect, No. But when we, different family members visiting nearly every single day at different times, saw different staff, and the care was always consistent, no matter what, we knew dad was in the right place.
April 2017
April 2017
We love the fact that my Dad can check himself in and out maintaining a sense of independence even though he's in a nursing home but the facility needs some serious updating and they seem to be under staffed at times.
